It is so hard to explain plagiarism unless one does know how he made his own post/thread. If it is being copy and paste and still posted then definitely it is so hard to tell if one does know plagiarism. FYI, if one does not want to be accused by plagiarism then the idea which is being copied or even the wordings itself must have the reference right after the sentence being copied or stated or it may do below the posts that is visible.

Thus, the forum does not want to be a copy and paste forum. Plagiarism is considered as a serious offense which penalty is permanent ban. And if you still want to join cryptocurrency forum then I bet there are other forums for cryptocurrency as well that you could join in. But, Bitcointalk is the best forum for cryptocurrency. I would rather enjoy the stay here rather than joining other forum and abiding rulings in this forum should prevail.

What does it mean to plagiarise?
Before you go further than the meaning of plagiarism? All you need to understand is:
Examples of plagiarism that you must know.

1}: is direct plagiarism, copy / paste or take the work of others who are not their own ideas.

2}: partial plagiarism, even though it has paraphrased but there are still some sentences detected from the original.

3}: mild plagiarism, although the paraphrases that have been applied still do not appear in the original.

4}: plagiarism that occurs because the basis of the word posting is not enough or very little.

Meaning:
Plagiarism or often called (plagiarism) is plagiarism or applying the results of work, opinions, and from other people and made visible the results of uasaha and own posts.

Paraphrasing could also land you in your trouble, some folks here thinks that copying someone's post and changing some words with their synonyms is enough to make it their own post but all of the time it is not the case it is still plagiarism and the chances of you being banned because of that is high. This is some next level plagiarism you are doing but no matter how you change the words it won't count it as your own.

The major reason of getting banned is not reading (caring about) the rules.
Everything else are just consequences.

How can plagiarism be avioded.

Well first  you should avoid copying a post letter for letter without adding your own personal knowledge and not also siting where you originally got it from.

*you can also avoid plagiarism by reading up an article, digesting it and the giving birth to a summary in your own understanding of the post. You can also state where you got it to be completely safe.

What you are talking about is rather copywriting, which is essentially the same plagiarism, since you use an invariant idea expressed by someone before you, and convey it in a different form, using another words. In order for the thoughts that you wrote in post to be really considered yours, it isn`t enough to read one source and retell it in your own words. You should familiarize yourself with several materials and form your view on a specific problem. And to express it in a form that will be understood by you first of all. Otherwise, you won`t be able to answer questions and complaints that will be put forward to your comment, you won`t be able to argue your point of view. You must really understand the topic so that you`re able to express the same idea in different forms, different expressions, without relying on the initial source.

Claiming ownership of someone else's work and parading it as yours is greatly frowned upon and would earn you an instant ban from the forum.
And I doubt anyone does it unintentionally or have to be told what exactly it is.
Be original and unique.
It is called intellectual theft. The same way someone pretends to be someone else, both are of the same level of deceit. Otherwise, cite the source of your information and make it a review of literature so that people get to know that you aren't the owner of that thought. In fact, an offence like this should be tagged, not just banned.

Everybody gets knowledge by reading someone's shares.  When you understand what the writer wants to convey then it is added to the knowledge.  One may get this knowledge from difference articles; sources.
Another source of knowledge is self experience and inventions.  When one works on some topic then gets deeper knowledge.  Now if the person shares his views it is his own contribution may be small or high depends upon the intelligence and expression level of the poster.
But when a person without understanding any issue just copies other persons article and pastes somewhere; it is called plagiarism.  It is theft which if not punished; will deprive of the benefit/fame to  the right person.
Several persons get banned in this forum due to this reason.

What does it mean to plagiarise?

Well this is the act of copying another person work, words or ideas pretending that they are you own. So many individuals has been guilty of this act of theft not only in the forum but outside this forum

Why is plagiarism a menace?

Other than plagiarism been an act of theft which is punishable by most forum, bodies, government and even organisation. It is also misleading act of plagiarism if not caught can get you praises or even position which you don't deserve and in the long run will not only affect you personally(that is to say you can't handle the new heights) it also affect the forum(thats is to say you will tarnish the image of the forum).. Also it is bad because you deprived the actual owner of the words, article or ideas he/her rightful credits be it money wise, elevated position or any form so it is wrong in both man and God perspective.

What's the difference between plagiarism and sourcing?

For quite some time post people that are found guilty of plagiarism has always claimed that they sourced it.  It is not obviously wrong to source through  others ideas when making an article or idea.
Sourcing or citation is when you use someone's idea and stating or siting where you got it from with follow up of your own personal ideas, work or comment

While plagiarism is when you wrongfully steal someones work without stating or siting the original source of the information and also not adding your own work or idea.

How can plagiarism be avioded.

How to catch plagiarism.

Plagiarism is definitely a menace that need to be thrown away but most times those guilty of plagiarism go undetected but that not the case in this forum because there are a lot of learned individual here looking out for culprits. But for those that still don't know how it's done
There are applications that can run a plagiarism test on an article and detect if it is plagiarise and also indicating the source. You can find them on Google Play Store or apple store some examples are...  Plagiarism checker, advance plagiarism checker, and so on

PS.. It's best to avoid plagiarism because you not only risk yourself getting ban you also depriving yourself the opportunity to learn and also causing harm to others...
