If you can get it for a good price - welcome aboard. But if the price will be about $700 - it would be better even not to try. Its pump time now, but after 1-2-3 months goes dump. And ROI multiplies x4-x6

Thanks a lot you guys....you've been a great help. Now I'm sure that I will build one. Yeah youtube can be deceiving sometimes. I even heard bigger miners on youtube makes videos and tells people to not mine because the more the miners the difficult it gets so some of them want you to stay away from mining so they can mine more.

Remember, practice makes perfect, no one was born with a particular knowledge, you have to learn first before getting something, also about GPU mining there are many algorithms you can mine even if Ethereum failed to exists in future, we still have Ravencoin, Monero , ETC, Octopus and many more

Hi, with upcoming release of 3060 end of February if I can grab 4 card I want to start mining. A lot of people saying those cards are gonna be good for mining as they have 12GB of vram. Now I don't know much about mining, I've seen couple of videos on youtube and stuff but no solid knowledge. I know half assed knowledge is dangerous but I just wanted to know if it is wise to start getting into mining now. I heard about eth 2.0 and I heard when that comes GPU mining is gonna be dead. So I'm really confuse if I should invest money in gpu mining. Thank you
I was once like you pal, I learned how to build mining rigs through online videos like youtube platform, it's really not that hard I believe, there is nothing dangerous about putting your gpu in motherboard and fire it up, the tricky part is setting up pools and you will eventually get it if you have the patience

Eth POW isn't stopping anytime sooner, don't be deceived by whatever you are hearing from people, staking may exists on Ethereum chain but POW is very much here to stay, moreover if Ethereum goes down we have many other coins that miners can mine

We all heard about ETH2.0 as well but that won't stop Ethereum POw algorithm from working, since you are going to high end gpu with 12gb VRAM that is awesome and more futuristic than other cards, you don't have to worry, GPU mining is going no where, there wi always be profitable coins to mine

Welcome!  I too am a newbie, I just turned my first rig on this week.  But I studied everything I could get my hands on for about 2 months before I jumped in.  First, I tried to understand crypto in general as much as possible.  I watched a lot of youtube videos and read a lot of sites.  I looked up words I didn't know.  After all of that, I feel like I just barely understand the tip of the iceberg.

Then I came here and read lots of forum posts. I asked questions in the forums and got a lot of great information from people.  It's for sure something you want to really study the ins and outs of, but I'm very much convinced this is a solid way to supplement your income, maybe save for retirement, etc.  You'll find people have different strategies, different goals, different approaches.  Try to absorb as much as you can, and then try to develop your own ideas from there.

I am really excited to be on this journey - we started at a really weird time, but times will change.  Don't get so excited that you spend a lot of extra money on a scalped GPU.  Be patient, the goods will come.  Have fun here!
