That sounds great to me. Yeah, I use more than $10k per a debit card so I won't be paying fees over and over.
Thanks for all detailed info.

I can't wait to switch to this crypto currency card.. my only regret is not mining bitcoins in 2011.
They were literally giving away one bitcoin per a day even for a laptop miner. These people became millionaires now.. I'm surprised how no one around me ever talked about it at all lol

One last question:
How long is the card valid? 3 years? longer expiration date would be appreciated...

The card I received is valid for 3 years (until 2020). When it expires, you can get a new card for free if you topped up at least USD 6000 on the expired card. If you topped up less than this amount, you will need to buy a new card. You can read all about it on the very bottom of this page:

https://wagecan.com/Pricing

It's a really nice and convenient card to have. Simply send bitcoins to the bitcoin address linked to the card and you have money to spend! No forms to fill up, no bank branches to visit, no exchanges to deal with.

They have an app which gives you your own bitcoin address. It’s a wallet you can send bitcoins to and from. You load your card within the wallet. The card has its own exclusive and dedicated bitcoin address. Simply send coins to that address and it will automatically be loaded to your card.

The card is a chip-type card so it is accepted everywhere. I have used it at malls, supermarkets, Starbucks... works flawlessly.

Amazing... that's exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks a lot for your info!

Thanks for detailed reply.
Yeah, WageCan Golden Card is available for US / Canada.
However it costs $140 to order.
Does this card really work at retail stores, restaurants, ATM machines in Canada?

and can you transfer crypto currency (altcoin, litecoin, bitcoin, zCash) to this card?
I just downloaded bitcoin wallet software called Bither and it gave me a wallet address.
I want to know if I can transfer crypto currency I will be mining to this Golden Card.

Sorry If I sound not correct... I'm a total newbie.

Yes the card definitely works everywhere. I can confirm it is accepted by ATMs, retailers, web merchants, restaurants, shops etc as long as you have enough funds on the card to cover the cost of whatever you are buying. I like the card and I use it mainly for retail payments and rarely to withdraw cash. The reason for avoiding it at ATMs is the nightmarishly high withdrawal fee which is 2.5% of the withdrawn amount. So for example, if you take $2000 this will be charged $50 (2.5% of $2000) as opposed to a flat $3 charged by European cards. For small amounts like $100, $2.50 should sound reasonable.

If you have no other options and if you don’t mind paying the fee, then you can apply for one on their website.

Great. So you can use bitcoin directly on your card without having to go through exchange & withdrawal process.
How do you charge your card? is it possible to link crypto currency wallet to your card?
I heard some of these cards charge exchange fee whenever you use your card in USD or CAD... Wirex company does this. They no longer ship outside of EU though.

Don't be sorry, we all start as a newbie  Grin

Yes, those cards work everywhere and it's somehow better than our traditional cards (higher limits weekly/monthly) Online, Offline, no problem everywhere where Visa/Mastercard is accepted. And so far I have never seen a merchant accepting cards but not Visa/Mastercard

As far as I remember you can use Bitcoin only there, but I can be wrong. Don't hesitate to join to verify. So if this is the case you will have to use an exchange.

The price can be high, I admit, but I think it can be a good alternative for some people.
There is a member https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/weitingwagecan-963014 who is a representative of WageCan, if you ask him/her you can get a 20% discount on the card, it's a good 30$ saved. money is money Tongue

That sounds great. I verified this with WageCan owner as well.
Yeah, this card seems like working unlike AdCash card which some users couldn't use in Canada.
Hopefully more companies get their new mastercards work in Canada & USA.
Uquid, ShakePay, and many other companies are working on new mastercard which will work in Canada. Hopefully more and more options become available in a month.

Most of those Visa prepaid cards are issued by WaveCrest/MyChoice. It was possible for North American citizens before. But during the end of August, the company has been bought by VISA intl and since Visa decided to provide their service to European citizens only.

For sure BitPay, Advcash, Bitwala, etc are looking for an alternative as lot of their customers are restricted to get access to a bitcoin prepaid card. The problem is that it can take a long time.

As for now the only one that offers cards not issued by WaveCrest/Mychoice is WageCan and their golden card

Hello guys,

I'm a guy in Toronto, Canada.
I want to start mining crypto currencies such as altcoin and get a cryptocurrency VISA card which can use them like real cash.
I realized the most of crypto currency VISA card companies don't ship their card to Canada and US.
Is there any company which does this?
and is it possible to use their card in Canada?

I checked Bitwala, AdCash, UQuid, etc. They seem to excluded US and Canada recently?

Thanks in advance,
