This must be the case, because hilariousandco is not on the donator's list. Maybe all moderators?

That is it, a moderator privilege. mprep is a Diamond Member which I'd guess is some sort of moderator rivalry going on.

Also, there are one or two other users that got to have a custom title by asking nicely for it.

Think I’m going to pay to become a Copper Member when I get back from holiday, not really sure why, there doesn’t seem to be any real benefits to me but other people have become a Copper Member so fuck it, I’m going to become one too Grin

You posted what I already know. The other link does by no means indicate that there is no gold membership.

There is no gold member or silver member. They are custom titles which some users are capable of setting.
Read about the 50BTC donation: https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html

Thanks for the clarification.

There are some members who got a custom title without donating 50btc. Regardless, there is certainly not a gold or silver membership you can buy... at the moment.

By popular demand, newbies can now pay to have some of their restrictions lifted. If you pay the fee, you become a Copper Member, and you can post images. That's the main point of this: allowing newbies to post images. Additionally (and these might change depending on how things go), Copper Members currently have these bonuses:

And it seems there is no such thing as gold member. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/new-gold-member-rank-2472518

I recently noticed some members having an additional Copper / Gold member status.

While I found out that copper membership is an option for Newbies to pay a small fee for certain privileges (esp. posting images) I still have no clue what a gold member is. Maybe there exists a silver membership as well?

It would be very nice to have this information added to one of the stickied threads dealing with ranks here.
