Hi there,
on a computer i7 6900 with no big gfx i would like to use the spare capacity to mine a little bit. I dont expect any big ROI. I even dont want the mining to use all the cpu and gfx power.
the computer is running 24 / 7 anyway so i would like to use 20% of it´s computing power to do something.
1. Is this realistic or a complete waste of time and energy?
2. If it´s a little bit reasonable, please advice software or direct me to a thread.

If the processor operates in idle mode with minimal load and in mining mode, then this is a completely different energy consumption. If you mine on one processor and pay for electricity, then such mining is unprofitable, and 20% of the computing power of this processor will give you a few cents a day, without taking into account the cost of electricity.on a computer i7 6900 with no big gfx i would like to use the spare capacity to mine a little bit.
