I have tried so much to know why OP wants that kind of feature, but I cannot come up with any positive reason(s) for that.
<...>

I bet it was because of this topic of his: A small tweak solves the double spend problem without a blockchain (previously titled: Proof of Advanced Delegation).

The OP had some crazy idea about a new version of the transaction mechanism that would eliminate the double spend problem without a consensus mechanism and blockchain. But when other members began to point out contradictions and shortcomings in his idea, he continued to make changes to his original post, explaining that he had "fixed" the problem. He obviously didn't like the fact that people were constantly quoting his previous statements, so he came up with another stupid idea he presented in this topic.

Op remember, when some quotes your reply, he/she is agreeing or disagreeing with your thoughts at that particular time and not necessarily yourself. So, to make someone that quoted you to remain correct at any time, the original message should not be changed.

In this same context, I witness a similar scenario.
User A posted a reply;
User B quoted the whole wall of the reply in other drop a reply;
Later, user A deleted his reply;
But his reply was still seen full text in the quoted comment of user B.
I think the purpose of user A deleting his reply was hugely defeated.
How can we handle this problem?

I SapphireSpire, think quotes should never, ever be updated, under any circumstances.
As you can see, the above (fake) quote is in no way verified by the forum. When someone "quotes" a post, they have the ability to change what is in the quote as they please, even if the quote is completely fabricated. The forum will help somewhat in helping create a BB code tag that will allow for someone to see when the (alledged) post was made, the author of the (alleged) post, and to have a citation link, although all of the above can be trivially changed by whoever writes the post.

Take this example:
Imagine you express your opinion on a subject.
Someone quotes you and agrees with your opinion.
You then change your post into something completely opposite.
I can think of something worse than just changing a post with an opinion.
I make a post requiring a 1 BTC loan, promising to pay back 1.1 BTC in a month. You quote my post, agree to the terms, and send me the coins. At one point in the future, I change my post so that it says that I promised to pay back 1.01 BTC instead. Your quote changes with the edit of my post. When it's time to repay the debts, I do as the post says and return 1.01 BTC to your address. After all, that's what we agreed, didn't we!?

Naturally there are ways to fight this and we have collateral, etc., but that's not the point there. It's just an extra example of why it's a bad idea.

@OP

Thats by far the dumbest request i have read in a long time.
And looks to me like many others have written that it is only for the purpose of obfuscation for plagiarism and abuse.
I hope we will never get this option for the quoting , and the quote feat would be usless if we get it.

I post a reply.

Someone quotes me in their reply.

Then I go back and edit my reply.

Server updates my changes in the quotes.

I posted a request for something similar to be built into the new forum software.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/checksum-verification-for-quoted-messagesposts-2171483

I don't think you can every control what someone posts in a quote and it's not rocket science being able to generate a false quote.

Quote from: SapphireSpire_Fake_Quote
I sold my soul to OgNasty and the price was cheap.

I proposed a method which would at least be able to check to see if the quote was legitimate.  Others even took it a step further by showing that purely untouched quotes could have green highlighting on the "quote from" text so that people can know it was a legitimate quote.  No idea if this is something that would be added in the future or not, but I'm certain it would have prevented hundreds of bitcoins from being stolen from users here in the past via MITM schemes.

Do you mean no change in the quote although you have edited your reply?

I don't think it is a big problem, right? It even recorded your previous reply, so you and other members know your genuine post. By seeing that mistake, we will be more careful to make a post next time. That gives us a lesson about caution in writing everything. Isn't that a good thing, buddy?

On the other hand, it is also needed to keep the evidence if there is a member who violates the forum rules. If the quote is changeable, the culprit will remove any trace of the evidence. It is very necessary to help the investigation. (it is like other members stated above).

Yea, it would be a great opportunity for scammers, plagiarisers, and abusers. They will post something and edit when done their goal. Isn't that? If the quote becomes editable then what is the case if use quotes?

So, NO. We don't need that feature and I don't think it's an interesting idea. We don't want to give more opportunities to abusers.

Server updates my changes in the quotes.

I don't think there is a forum in the world that does this. Think about it, and as some members have already pointed out, it would be a real mess.

Take this example:
Imagine you express your opinion on a subject.
Someone quotes you and agrees with your opinion.
You then change your post into something completely opposite.

How would that affect the person who quoted you?

The forum isn't going to go about such update and even if it were to be considered, it would be very wrong based on that context. A quote is said to be that because, they express your spoken words as at that time. Again, someone who quotes and makes a response to your quote could be said to have directed his or her respones based on that quote. Editing that quote to something else and have it reflected on wherever its been quoted simply puts it out of existence and the reply becomes off-topic or out of context. Now that won't help so much. Your opportune to correct your mistakes but not without a few others that would have followed in your steps not learning from it.

In fact, quotes not being editable is one of the ways plagiarism is being caught and the evidence stays binding in this forum.

I'm irritated by my own typos, misspellings, and the use of erroneous homonyms.  I've found my own errors months later and my OCD won't allow me to ignore them.  That's a petty reason to support your suggestion (which I do not,) but I'm afraid it would be abused by nefarious actors more than used for fixing typos.

It reminds me of that verse from the Serenity Prayer: "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

I checked Ninjastic Space a second time with a post of mine that I know I edited at least 10 times. The original got scrapped of course. Only the first edit got scrapped.
Ninjastic.space scraps the original post once it's made and scraps it one more time after 5 minutes.
Therefore, edits made after 5 minutes wouldn't be shown. Also, if you edit a post N times in the first 5 minutes, only Nth edit is shown.

Read the post made by TryNinja.

All posts that you have shared and have been modified (after a while) are archived, so changing quote post will not help you to hide any thing.
Loyce.club doesn't keep track of changes and edits. It only shows the original post. I checked Ninjastic Space a second time with a post of mine that I know I edited at least 10 times. The original got scrapped of course. Only the first edit got scrapped. The others were not. Unless there is another way to check a post that got edited multiple times, it doesn't work with Ninjastic Space.

BTW, forum admins can also see post edits. I don't think the option is available for the other staff.

Can admins see editing history of a post?

Yes, though it's a bit of a hassle.

There's currently no history of profile fields, though, so you definitely can't rely on your signature or anything like that.

The response will vary from case to case, I remember once someone posted my private key, but remember that any shared reply has been archived.
I think everyone will agree that nobody is supposed to know our private key.

There are useful cases to modify databases such as there is personal data shared by mistake then you can ask the user or administrator, to delete or modify it from the database.

Sorry, it's a bad idea and admins will never make such changes.
We have users who run forum post scrappers and catch everything that is written. One of them is Loyce.Club. Just enter the message or topic ID and it will take you to the original message that was posted and scrapped. If changes were made to the original, you can see them on the forum.

Ninjastic Space is another one. It also shows the history of post changes, but in my experience it doesn't always work for all types of posts. Not sure why that is.

and then how could we do things like this?
along with all the other problems with being able to change quotes.

What are you trying to accomplish? Is there a goal here? How would this handle edited quotes or quotes that are snippets of the full post?

No. Just no.

One can write something, he gets replies with his post quoted, then he edit his post to something completely different. The answer will become meaningless.

Or.. what will happen when only parts of the post are quoted, or one snips out some parts?

No. It would be a lot of work with questionable results at best.

Actually that's the use of quote.

I don't think admin will change that feature just for you. I mean it has lots of advantage like the staking of address, many use it to expose bounty cheaters, scammers, not to say that you are one but if it is then that's unfortunate. If you're not and the reply is just for discussion, the one who quote your message will probably see it and will change the quoted reply if ever, it is still doesn't matter.
