Thanks for the input.  The Reddit sticky has a lot of links and a lack of content.  The Lisk FAQs is similarly good at saying what Lisk does, but light on why its a crypto currency.  There's a problem identified - lack of developer tools.  The solution is to create a new blockchain with added development tools?  $900m seems an awful high valuation for a SDK with vendor lock in.

Welcome to crypto where the evaluations make no fucking sense whatsoever. We still have Ripple sitting at an 8 billion marketcap. You could just to mess with everyone create a crypto with a massive supply like over a 1000 trillion even if it trades at 1 sat it will still sit at a 72 billion marketcap (1sat = 0.000072 cents with BTC @ 7200). Taking the number #2 spot in the top 100.

Head over to Lisk's subreddit, there's a link stickied right at the top named: Welcome to Lisk! A Guide to Get Started...

There you'll find everything you need to know abou the coin and the project Smiley

LISK has come with a very innovative project by using a different programming language(java script) to make developers working in java script to built projects easily It's purely skeptical to say that every coin is project since they use blockchain technology. LISK is a platform where you can create other coins like one on your own using their sdk platform (same as ETH but with different coding language and implementation)

Can anyone please explain the point of Lisk as a cryptocurrency?  I see an interesting technology, I don't understand why it's a currency rather than say a open source API/framework project.  Couldn't it have been built to operate with other existing blockchains?  Clearly at market cap of $900m I'm missing something, what is it?

(I know I could probably ask the same of a dozen projects, but Lisk is the one i'm picking on)
