With gathered founds 10k BTC will build a platform for investing in crypto. Blockchain also helps it to not be complicated and low cost also because of lack of government regulations.
This platform will be for a regular investor that so far kept their money in bank or in stocks. So an investor with fiat currencies.
This is what Crypto needs. That is why was so much support. And so many here invested in it.

They are first and there is a question if they are to early.

But i am sure what i said is explained in so many articles that was recently published.

About how simple can work is this example. Spells of Genesis. When they had to change their pre ICO promise to burn 1/3 of their tokens (BCY) instead of 1/2 (They burn 1/3 of all BCY they gather from selling cards and with this BCY are getting less and less), because of partnership with publishing company All4Games that is part of  Chanel 4 division. They just issued new voting token and send to all shareholders to vote on a decision to accept deal or not. Those that agree sent that token to YES Vallet and those that disagree sent token to NO wallet.  Can you imagine what a procedure and costs would be in a normal shareholding company to make such change? Every shareholder would need to provide legally confirmed ...

May be I am being a bit dense here. Still having a tough time understanding this.

What is the "platform"? Where I can put btc and exchange it for a token of value which will then be traded/invested by my selected manager, and I receive returns in token of value and then convert that token to btc(if I want)? If yes, what is the need for an intermediate token?

I can't see anything but a very vague mention in the whitepaper about a platform. The other stuff is just about three funds. What the funds are going to do is vague to say the least. Invest in crypto using crypto with a crypto token to investors.

In a general shareholding company, the costs would not be very significant compared to deal size.

I am not trying to put ICONOMI on trial here, just a general discussion about ICO's and ICONOMI being one of the biggest seems to be the starting point for the discussion.

Loved the monopoly comment about age 7-99.

Iconomi dividends are paid out weekly in Ethereum, which is decent as a payment medium and savings in this scenario.

Question remains. Plus:

Dividends from what? What is the business/business model/revenue?

When i read ICONOMI white paper i immediately understood what they want to do. Maybe you just need soem more understanding of Crypto to understand. But i am sure now are milion articles and videos about it.

Age here dont matter. Like for playing monopoly from 7-99

Hi Febo,

I read through their white paper as well. I was at utterly lost about what they wanted to do and how.

I don't pretend to understand crypto very well, my understanding of financial markets/platforms/instruments would be considered decent.

Would you please explain a bit of their aim and how they achieve it as per your understanding of the whitepaper? It would be great to learn what I am missing.

Thanks

do you really think there's any rhyme or reason to ico pricing? the only thing most of them will care about is extracting as much btc as possible before it turns to shit.

there are no fundamentals, probably no plans and they certainly wouldn't want to offer a breakdown of how they arrived at whatever valuation.

Sounds like scams waiting to happen.

I would like to see the perspective of someone who is/was investing ICO's.

So I was recently offered some ICO tokens(?) as collateral and buy/sell.

I am unable to understand:

1- Investor perspective when giving bitcoins to projects(such as ICONOMI) which in their documentation give NO details.
Or am I not reading this correctly?

2- Once it gets into tradeable mode, valuation model? I can't see half of the offer documents making sense of why they are a value proposition

3- Average age of investors in these projects.

Thanks
