This morning I sent about 5 BTC from my bitcoin qt wallet to my coinbase account. I didn't realize I wasn't online at the time. It deducted the coins from my wallet. I realized I wasn't online so I connected to the internet. This was a couple of hours ago and even after reconnecting, bitcoins are nowhere to be found. It hasn't showed up in my coinbase account and the transaction is showing with 0 confirmations in my wallet. But the coins are gone from my wallet! I also searched the "transaction ID" provided by bitcoin qt and it is coming up with nothing when I search for it on blockchain.
Can anyone help me? Will the coins eventually come back to my wallet if the transaction never gets confirmed, or are my coins lost in cyberspace forever? That seems a little crazy that coins can just disappear because I don't happen to be connected to internet when I hit send. Please help!
