Good glad to help not sure who pushed it through was I crashed out once I could not get it to work.

It can take 1/2 a day to get it to take.
It can take 1/2 a day after they accelerate it.

I just learned of an other free service offer by f2pool if you are mining to them. I have to check it out and will post back if I get it to work on a different tx.

I have used viabtc's service for years and it has saved me a lot of money.

Should I re-enter the transaction ID into the accelerator every hour?

No,
Once is enough... Now it's just waiting untill viabtc mines a (couple of) blocks. This  process can still take a lot of time, but still, you're much better off now that your tx is in viabtc's queue.

Thanks a lot! I submitted the "hash", that is the same as the transaction ID right? I submitted the hash number into viabtc.com

I don't know if it was accepted though. Thanks again for the help!
Oh, I don't know if it's you or me who've successfully submitted it  Cheesy
Anyways, it's now in their queue so even if the average mempool doesn't get better, your transaction can get a confirmation once ViaBTC mined a block like I've explained above.

I will try it at midnight if  I am still awake
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you going out of your way to help me out! -snip-
Guess he fell asleep because it's still not in ViaBTC's free accelerator queue:

If it is, there'll be a message below the TXID saying "This transaction is being accelerated."
You can do it yourself though, paste the TXID and submit it "for free" in https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ at exactly HH:00 during the very first few seconds and it should be accepted if your internet is fast.
Paste it again if it returned with an error since their server can't handle the surge of txn submissions, the message above will show if it was accepted.

Lastly, it wont be "accelerated" right away, ViaBTC need to mine a block or more first to include your transaction, so it depends on their luck and the number of queued transactions.
I'll try it too if I'm available, I'll inform you later if I succeeded.

--update--

Now it's in their queue:

For this reason, I thought someone that had a fair bit of knowledge about bitcoin, and have seen similar factors in the past, could probably be able to give a "ball park" prediction on how long it would take.
Well it's not that easy. There are a lot of unpredictable factors that are affecting the fees.
- We had the small hashrate drop recently that meant less blocks are found every day. Less blocks means less transactions are included in all blocks daily, hence more remain unconfirmed.
- We also had the price drop and each time there is a panic sell like that we see an increased number of transactions being made by users (sending coins to exchanges to sell or buying from exchanges and cashing it out or moving bitcoin between exchanges like from altcoin exchange back to bitcoin exchange to trade bitcoin).

So we have to predict when will the hashrate be back and we start getting the usual ~144 blocks per day (instead of current 106 in the past 24 hours). Difficulty adjustment will take care of that soon-ish (in 14 days) but we also have to predict whether price is going to stay stable like it did in the past 20 hours or will it start swinging again. Going up and down can again increase the fees.

Take a look at this chart showing the total size of transactions in mempool and their fees over the past week: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#BTC,1w,weight
As you can see the fees were already on the rise before the hashrate drama began due to price volatility. And your transaction that is paying 105 sat/vbytea is roughly at half the peak which is the high priority fee level.
So first the transactions paying higher fee than you have to be confirmed (about 20 vMB) and during that time no new transaction has to be created with higher fee so that the fees are lowered.

Hi everyone! I am pretty clueless when it comes to Bitcoin, so any help would be much appreciated! At 4:11 a.m. eastern standard time I sent bitcoin. For some reason it still has zero confirmations, and it is 8:57 p.m. eastern standard time now. So about 17 hours and still nothing.

The Hash is:

792531775cc4e241a6fc9a1f5b586bb77d02cbe84dcd1e6905e6299fabd50036

I used the "normal" transaction fee.

Can someone please let me know if I did something wrong and/or help me get this confirmed?

Thanks!

I have the same problem, even worse than you,I used the "normal" transaction fee. It's been three days and there's still no confirmation .I also used the "normal" transaction fee. I don't know what to do now Sad

How long do you think this will take if I just let it sit?
It is not possible to predict because it is essentially predicting how other people are going to act and that's not possible.
When price is volatile like these days there is always an increased number of transactions that create a competition (aka a fee market) that increases the fees.

Actually, this is quite possible, and happens every single day in many various ways. For example, a sports "handicapper" is someone who makes the point spreads among other sports bets. They not only predict how people are going to act, they come super close in their predictions to many different scenarios within the game itself. This is because they are experts in this field, which enables them to make many correct predictions, under endless circumstances.

For this reason, I thought someone that had a fair bit of knowledge about bitcoin, and have seen similar factors in the past, could probably be able to give a "ball park" prediction on how long it would take.

I did this straight from Blockchain, and I have used "priority" fee in the past, but thought "normal" would be fine if I did not need it for a few hours.

I appreciate the help!

For some reason, I always have some issue like this, when making a transaction.
That usually happens when people use bad wallets that aren't that user friendly. Try using Electrum.
If that's not the case, try learning how to work with the fee slider and read the mempool information from its charts like this one: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,24h

Is there anything else I can do from my end to help make this confirm faster? Thanks again!
Enable RBF on your transaction in the future (or use a wallet that lets you do that) so that you can bump the fees when your transactions get stuck and you are in a hurry to get them to confirm.
Since your tx fee is higher than 10 satoshi/byte you can use this accelerator for free: https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you going out of your way to help me out! Like I said before, I'm an idiot for doing no research, and should of made the fee higher. Hopefully, the additional measures you are taking will help get this through faster. Regardless if it does or doesn't, thanks again!

Thank you so much for the response, I really appreciate it! I wish I knew I had to make the fee more than the "normal" amount, but I only deal with bitcoin sporadically, and am an idiot when working with it.

Overnight maybe.

I will try a free TX Accelerator for you.  If I can get it to stick maybe it clears in 2-3 hours

okay missed the 11 pm window.  next window is midnight Eastern standard time.

basically

1058-1102

1158-1202

the window opens for a little bit of time every hour.

this is the viabtc free accelerator

I will try it at midnight if  I am still awake

The feerate that can get your transaction confirmed in time is around 200 sat/vbyte, but your transaction is 105 sat/vbyte. Since some days ago now, the mempool has been congested as some mining hashes has decreased, leading to mempool congestion. Your transaction is not supporting replace-by-fee, which means you can not pump the fee. If this continues, the mining difficulty will be adjusted, this will bring things back to normal. I will advice you to just wait until the transaction is confirmed, although it may be long.

Next time, use wallet like electrum that support replace-by-fee, in such case, you can enable replace-by-fee in which you will be able to pump the fee.

If you still insists to get the transaction confirmed fast in time, this will be at the receiver side (the wallet you sent the bitcoin to), if it is your friend, or you are the owner of the receiver wallet, and the wallet is able to spend unconfirmed transactions (like on elecrum wallet), all to be done is to send the bitcoin or part of the bitcoin (unconfirmed bitcoin) to another address on the same receiver wallet, but using a much higher fee that can get almost two transactions confirmed, 300 sat/vbyte would be enough.
