Since you are aware of the pairing of tokens. I suggest look for coin or token that both exchange have and find the one with smallest withdrawal fee from Binance on that way you less the expenses on transferring your coin to exchange with bitrue. Regardless of that, transaction, exchange that token or coin to usdt then buy the token you want now.

If you are thinking about spending less on fees then I would suggest you sell AAVE and buy TRX or XRP or LTC. They have the lowest fees while transferring from one exchange to another. Just make sure to check the price at your destination exchange and also consider the trading fees. It might be a long process but I have saved good amount of crypto by doing this.
Any news coming out of Xinfin..?
Why are you selling a coin like AAVE to buy it..?

Using USDT in TRC20 (Under Tron network) is the best option too, but make sure *DOUBLE CHECK* if Bitrue supported a TRC20 USDT.
I checked it to make sure Bitrue support TRC20 chain for USDT before I wrote my post. It is safe to apply this tutorial because Binance and Bitrue both support TRC-20 USDT.

The rest thing is check carefull the chain (choose the tab TRC20) on Binance when filling details for withdrawal, check the chain and get the address for TRC20 USDT on Bitrue account. Check the address you will send your USDT to when withdraw USDT TRC20 on Binance.

Sounds like many things to check but it is for safety and in practice, all of checks can be done in one or two minutes.

You can try this method,

1. Sell your AAVE for USDT (you must try to make sure if USDT TRC20 already supported by bittrue)
2. Send your USDT to the bittrue
3. You can buy XDC with your USDT https://www.bitrue.com/trade/xdc_usdt

OP can try this on how to deposit in Bitrue (https://www.bitrue.com/exchange-web/article/faq/How-to-deposit.html)

Yes, much better to use different blockchain networks other than Bitcoin/Ethereum to save more transaction fees. Using USDT in TRC20 (Under Tron network) is the best option too, but make sure *DOUBLE CHECK* if Bitrue supported a TRC20 USDT.
If not supported, try first to convert your Bitcoin/USD to other coins, like XRP/DOGE/LITECOIN just to transfer from Binance to Bitrue, just to save transaction fees, and after your funds arrived in Bitrue, you can trade it now to other coins.

Is this the proper way of doing this transfer? I have never transfered funds from Binance to another exchange, so I thought that before I run the risk of having my coins disappear in cyberspace, I double check.
Thanks in advance.

That's the best way you can try that beside use bitcoin to send your fund to the bittrue account. It consumes only $1 for the transaction fees from finance to the bittrue

Bitrue exchange has support for TRC20 chain with Tether USD (USDT) deposit. You can consider about this one (USDT on TRC20 chain) when you withdraw from Binance and send it to Bitrue.

You can use USDT to buy AAVE with AAVE/USDT trading pair: https://www.bitrue.com/trade/aave_usdt

Please help me find the proper way to transfer funds
(AAVE coins) from Binance to Bitrue, so that I will be able to buy XDC on Bitrue.
My plans are to sell the AAVE on Binance for BTC.
Then I would withdraw the BTC amount and transfer it to Bitrue.
Once these funds arrive at my Bittrue account, I buy XDC with my BTC funds.
Is this the proper way of doing this transfer? I have never transfered funds from Binance to another exchange, so I thought that before I run the risk of having my coins disappear in cyberspace, I double check.

Why would you transfer your funds to another exchange? perhaps, you know that Binance was much more trusted than Bitrue?
In fact, this is my first time to heard about Bitrue, is this a new exchange site platform here in the cryptocurrency business?
If yes, I would use it temporarily, because there is a high risk then actually. Just my opinion and tips of advise to you only.

It does not look like you are totally estranged to coin transaction among exchanges or wallet but if you doubt get on youtube for more tutorial. Take cognizant of the addresses and never send coin across exchange not to lose fund, also send fund/coin available in other exchanges. Ensure XDC/BTC pair trade is available on bitrue and if not, trade your BTC to the available pair.

I have bought XDC on Bitrue with BTC transfered from my Kraken account before.
But Kraken works with fiat. I bought the BTC with fiat and send the BTC from Kraken to Bitrue.
My question should have been much simpler:
Does Binance allow me to transfer BTC to Bitrue like Kraken.
If it was a small amount I wouldn't bother, but I don't want to  sell all my AAVE to BTC, only to learn I cannot transfer these BTC to Bitrue.
Probably I am just over-anxious, I thought it can't hurt to ask before I set this whole transaction into motion.

PS
I had bought EthLend on Binance which now show up as AAVE.

[Nope]No hype delivers more than hope
Previously I did not understand how the aave token was on your binance account, maybe I assume you have sent it from your personal wallet. At least you know how to transfer between bitcoin addresses using a personal wallet, so you will be able to do it in Binance too. Here's a tutorial on sending btc using the bitcoin mainnet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGMJ1oS-S7g

If your fund is large enough (say $5k), I suggest sending a small amount as a trial. Keep in mind, the fees for withdrawing BTC are currently very high.
