Is it still OK to use 1 SAT per byte if we want to save on TX fee ?
Most probably, but its depends on pool/miner. Sometimes I have seen on Electrum the adjust bar couldn't set below 3 sat/byte or sometimes 16 sat per bytes. That's means transaction fees determine based on current circumstances. You can see above hash rate has been dropped and transaction has been increased. So on that case probably you will not able to set 1 sat/byte.

Am currently using blockchain wallet
i received some btc which transactions shows 0 comfirmations after 7 hours
and i sent it to another trading wallet.
And Its over  6 hours and both transaction is still on
0 comfirmation.
From the sender 0 comfirmations
Also from me 0 comfirmations.
What should i do.

Before Halving , i used to spent the min fee that is 1 Sat/Byte and it used to confirm too.  Can you send the Tx ID for that transaction so that we can see little more details like what Tx fee was used, even though it is confirmed as you mentioned above.  Mine Tx is also stuck for about 24 hours.  Is it still OK to use 1 SAT per byte if we want to save on TX fee ?

Thanks all

After 13 hours the transaction was later comfirmed.
Cheers

Now, you can lock this thread already since you have already solved your concern.
The hash rate just dropped right after the block halving took effect. I don't know if it will continue to drop, If so we will be expecting a higher transaction fees, and when you set your transaction fee to minimum then that was the result what you just have experienced.

thats a long wait i can say.next time, tell the sender to increase the fee, if you have the influence to do so. also you can use the free btc accelerators as mahanton had given. i always use those services right after transferring btc to another address, just to help in pushing thru your tx

Could you please send the TX of your transaction here? We will help you to check. For cant confirmed transaction, there are many reason lead that, may be the fee that you set too low, the miner cant confirm the transaction. May be the chain is pending or etc. So, we can check the TX to conclude why

Hello brother, why don't you openly share the information here for future reference purposes as a guide to solving future stuck transactions? I think it should be useful here. Thank you.

Alright, most of my friend's transactions on blockchain wallet who had used smaller fees are still pending while the ones who used high fees have all been confirmed within 4mins. Now avoid blockchain wallet as it does not support segwit wallet. You shouldn't have spent unconfirmed transactions. Now, ask the sender to send you like $5, to your the same address having this unconfirmed transaction with a high fee of say $4, then this should help speed up the process, and you, in turn, can send small amount out with increased transaction fee. This was what I used in 2017 and it did worked.

There is a big hashrate drop after block halving and I think more hashrate drop coming.

And a slow increase in transactions these days.

The decrease or drop on hashrate and the increase of transaction volume will lead to a slow or delayed network. Blockhalving is the big reason why it happens that is why every block halving the transaction is always delayed due to a decrease in rewards. A company or a group of miners is not making any profit anymore and they can't afford to keep up to pay the operational cost and stopped mining.

I'm so shocked to see this big spike today posted above.
Unconfirmed transactions.

and pending transactions.

According to bitcoinfees.earn.com, the recommended fee is 150 satoshis/byte.

If you have full control of the first transaction you can increase the fee to put your transaction in high priority.

Do you have full control of the first transaction?
If not then better ask the man who owns this first transaction and tell him to add or increase the miner's fee.

The obvious reason is the network has been going crazy lately and so the transaction fees have also shot up
If you check the mempool stats, you can clearly see what has been happening: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,4d

Over 73K+ unconfirmed transaction as of now

The sender of such coin do set out min. fee which do slows down for that particular transaction to be broadcasted into the network/get confirmation.
Unless if you do make use of electrum which you can replace fee then that would be great but if its not possible then you can opt out to push via
those btc accelerators.I dont know if these things actually works but theres no harm to try it out..

You can't do anything from your end on that case since your receiving transaction still unconfirmed. Only thing could do from the other end who have sent you the fund. I don't know which wallet has been used to make transaction, but sender could increase transaction fees to speed up transaction. Have you noticed how much fees per byte has been used? If sender used low fees then it would take times. Or you my share transaction id if you don't have problems with privacy, so we might see the real reason behind of the slow transaction. Your transaction couldn't be confirmed before confirmation of your receiving transaction.
