You can still undelete fils, dont use the disk anymore

when you re-install your operating system it doesn't just "delete" files for this action to be undone easily. it is formatting your hard disk and then rewrites everything. the chances of recovering a file on the previous OS is slim.

Recently I was opened a segwit wallet and record down the seed for it and then opened another legacy wallet on my first wallet and mistakenly i didn't record down Second seed for that, now i just changed my windows without having backup of my wallet and all my coins are gone...

Is there maybe anyway to gain access to Legacy wallet from my first wallet seed or recover it with my password?

And what happened to the wallet file? Did you manually delete it?
OP said that they reinstalled the OS:
... now i just changed my windows without having backup of my wallet and all my coins are gone...

...and I'm guessing they either wiped the drive and did a clean install, or at the very least, didn't select the "save my files" option... although that doesn't necessarily save things in the "AppData" directory as I once discovered the hard way Undecided

How did you even access your wallet without writing down the mnemonic code?
Electrum doesn't let you use your wallet without verifying (entering) your mnemonic code.

If you did reinstall then theres probably little hopw of getting the wallet back yes...
If OP reinstall the Electrum app, it is required those missing piece, the 12 seeds passphrase and the password. I think it's to move on and learn this mistakes.

Reinstalling electrum doesn't overwrite anything, reinstalling Windows can... So they'd still have their wallet file in this circumstance.

Correct, I've done that many times. OP does not impose the right measures to safeguard his money, that was $8k and he doesn't make a back up of the word phrase, in my case, I made sure I have a two flash drive keep inside the house, and the other is on my basement, that is aside from my back up in my PC.

Lesson learned, but the hard way.

Please make a way to verify wallet owners and let us gain access to our coins
The way to "verify" a wallet owner is the 12 words seed mnemonic... or private keys to the addresses that the coins were sent to... or the wallet file and any password used to encrypt that wallet file.

Without those things, your coins are effectively lost forever. So, if you reinstalled/upgraded Windows, and didn't use the option to save your personal documents/files, then chances are the wallet file is gone... and you don't appear to have a backup of the seed mnemonic or private keys Sad Undecided

Your absolute last chance, "hail mary" is to try and do a file recovery as others have mentioned... if you can't recover the wallet file, then your coins are lost forever. Undecided

The problem is I don't know what files extension electrum uses for the wallet files stored locally on the computer drive (Maybe someone more knowledgeable can clarify on this) otherwise it would be easier to specify on the recuva software what type of files (file extensions) you would like to recover.
Electrum doesn't use any file extension... default wallet is "default_wallet"... all other wallets are simply converted to lower case "walletname", so if you create one called "My Wallet"... then the filename will be "my wallet"

I don't know if this is possible but hey, It's worth a try. Desperate times, desperate measures. I am thinking electrum wallet stores the encrypted files locally on the computer drive.

So I do hope you haven't installed any apps or downloaded any media on to your computer after installing windows because this will overwrite and corrupt any files that could be salvageable. Download a recovery software like recuva and do a deep scan all the drives after which you will be able to recover files that have been found.

The problem is I don't know what files extension electrum uses for the wallet files stored locally on the computer drive (Maybe someone more knowledgeable can clarify on this) otherwise it would be easier to specify on the recuva software what type of files (file extensions) you would like to recover.

After you have recovered the files Try searching for the wallet file with the file name you used or the default file names if you didn't name it like default Wallet or wallet_1 and after finding it, save it.

Now download Elecrum and then copy the saved wallet file into the wallets folder by following this path of Folders:
Code:
C:\Users\Your computer profile's username\AppData(hidden in windows by default, you have to unhide it)\Roaming\Electrum\wallets

Open electrum and select the wallet file you just recovered. Try entering the password you used when creating it and see if it opens.

Keep us updated if it works or not. This is trial and error method  Cheesy

when re-installing windows there is an option that keeps a backup of your documents and other data and only upgrades the operating system itself. you might have chosen that (i think it may be on by default when you already have windows installed). look around in your C drive and see if you can find that folder. if you did then your wallet file should be among those files.
other than that i don't think even recovery tools work in your case because you basically format the entire drive and then rewrite most of the bytes.

At this statement, I don't see a chance that you can still recover your Electrum wallet, it seems you have been lost everything you need to recover your Bitcoin wallet. It's our responsibility to back up everything valuable to us.

This might your lesson anyway, next time when you will create any wallet just make it sure you have been back up your file that includes your password. Save on it on the flash drive and keep it in a safe place.

No, you can't gain access to your legacy wallet unless you have the recovery phrase.

It's the whole point of noncustodial wallets or decentralization. Your money is your responsibility. Electrum is a noncustodial wallet by design, and they are not responsible in case you lose your 12 word phrase because they don't even know the 12 word phrases to you account.

If you want wallets where they you get registered and verified, then try the likes of coinbase, exchange wallets etc but remember they have way more disadvantages than Noncustodial wallets

What does electrum say when you load it up? If you didn't call the wallet anything when you made it and its wallet_1 thats in the box, type "default_wallet".

If you know your password and didn't intentionally delete your wallet file it should still be there. If this doesn't work let me know what operating system you're using and the type of electrum (as simple as how you run it - is it a start menu shortcut or do you run the application from somewhere like your downloads folder)?

This is not possible because OP did this

When you create a new wallet, Electrum generates 12 new words. So, the first wallet you had created has nothing to do with the second wallet.
You must have the seed phrase or wallet file + password. Otherwise, there is no way to access your coins.

If you've still got the file do you have any idea what your password is?

It seems to be up to you to work out what you do witb your wallet, an encrypted wallet with a strong password could be placed on Google drive for example or you could distribute the mnemonic to relatives and ask them to keep hold or it - or bury your nmemonic in a waterproof capsule somewhere you'll find it and others are unlikely to stumble upon it accidentally.
