Thanks for the quick help. I have total control of the account, and there only seems to be one scam victim for a sum of 0.15 BTC (they used my account and its reputation to organize an alt trade and got the other person to send bitcoin first). However, I am more than happy to pay for out of pocket (it's really my fault for having a crappy password that could be cracked).

The red rep is no longer needed.
I am glad that you got everything resolved and are doing the right thing.

I think you might want to invest in a password manager so it will be more difficult for this to happen to you in the future Smiley

I have removed my negative feedback now after talking to you privately. You look green again now.

I'm reasonably confident that I spoke to the real owner of the account. He asked me to keep it red-tagged for the time being, to alert potential scam victims that something is wrong.

What is going to happen with the losses of those who thought they were dealing with you? I hope you will do the right thing and reimburse anyone who thought was dealing with you and subsequently entrusted who they thought to be you with their money.

Can someone on the DT please leave me negative trust for being a hacked account. Someone today seems to have hacked the account and organize some altcoin trades. I think I have total control of the account, but I'd like it as a warning for anyone who is dealing with this account or thinks they are communicating with me
I saw email change recently I'm sure it was you and you now have total control of your account ,but if you still have not and you still doubt something wrong is ongoing update it and I'll give you a neg trust.

I left negative trust as requested. I'll remove it once I'm satisfied that I have talked to "the real you".

Well the point is that the person who had access to my account has contacted a bunch of people, and I'm worried about them having had moved the conversation to other mediums (e.g. email, IM) and they believe they're speaking to me, but speaking to a scammer. However if they see my account has neg rep, they'll likely read it

Did you PM the individuals that were messaged? If so, they'll probably see that before they check your profile. The only issue is that if anyone is still having a conversation in another medium, then they will most likely go forward with the transaction(s) without checking your profile. Though I could be wrong.

That is not the solution for your problem like @densuj said you can change your password and email address to get back your controlled to your account. As for now theirs no one else complaining a scam attempts with that account.
Exactly, although we give the negative trusted must there are valid proof and this thread is not valid proof for reasons of us giving negative trusted.
During there are no  dupe using that account, there are no reasons for the members giving negative trusted. Although the owner of account wants it.

Well i think if your account has been hacked, you just need change the password with strong password.
And doesn't need negative trusted.
You can doing verification that the account is your with sign massages on old wallet of bitcoins, that this account has been hacked.
