I think it goes without saying that anybody interested in investing in anything should do a hell of a lot of research & I don't just mean things involving bitcoin.

It's your money, treat it with respect.
Yes we must be really very much careful while investing in these sites, as you can easily be scam by scammers because they have so many ways of scamming people so you need to search with extreme care and only then take a decision about investing your money in online gambling using these sites.

If you're talking about only gambling investments, then this forum has got good information on well-trusted sites. So just go through those threads and can decide which site you can invest and it is not such a difficult thing because here most of the reviews are real and we can trust on those reviews. But if you're talking about the products not listed on this forum then surely we need to do a lot of research.

so hard to get good research done when all the sites are run anonymously
It is not exactly right that  anonymous status of casino owner is a drawback here. We don't know who are behind some major/trusted/old bitcoin casinos either.
But that doesn't mean service can't be trusted if full dox of owners is not available. Admins/owners like to protect their privacy in the same way gamblers do.
why the casino owners have to reveal their information ,
while they let you as player to gamble anonymously?
i agree both the players and owners have same rights to have a privacy protected ,
as long as the site well known in certain goup or community and get vouched i think it is ok.

Anonymity in some respect, is a blessing and a curse for both the internet and bitcoin. It's difficult to entrust somebody with your money when you have very little, if any, information about them. You've just always gotta be weary and look around on the forums as best you can. If its a really new site, best to either wait it out, or simply ask on here and get a discussion going. It'll benefit both you and the people that have been lurking around, waiting for an answer.

Yeah, I think this is common rule before put your money wherever it is.
It's not so hard to do research, because people on forum already mentioned and gave reviews about good and trusted gambling sites.
Moreover, sites that already exist for years and has so many users is a good option.

The best way to find tusted gambling sites to invest is bitcointalk forum. If you search all the threads then you will get real feedback from the users and can decide whether you can invest on those sites are not. From the Google search, it may be bit difficult to find required details.

Its their own fault they risk thier own money without even ask people or search it for thier own good to see of the site is scam or legit.
Correct , the laziness will leads you into the hell and be broken + regret for get scammed and absolutely they're fault for be lazy search the site before invest their money. Bought site , shady activities , unresponsive support ticket and etc are commonly the scammy site do.

It only takes min 5 minutes to do this , and it won't be affect with you but that's worth it for your money.

well, that is not always true!

It's ok with your opinion because we don't know what the owner thinks next , but look at my post that have been bold "Bought site , shady activities , unresponsive support ticket and etc are commonly the scammy site do." .
If you find this behavior even though those sites not scam before , you must be careful and stay away for avoid the unnecessary thing might be happened.

Good advice, there are so many and most of them are easily identifiable as scams just by the way they are setup and the terrible websites they create.

The ones that will catch people out are the professional looking websites, especially the cloud mining websites as people are a sucker for quick profit and then when someone tells you that you can earn 150% of your investment in x amount of days people seem to believe it is possible.

Our forum has a great bunch of people and numerous threads about scam sites, as long as people use google or come here directly to inquire about a site then we should be able to catch them before they lose out.

It is a shame to have this going on but it happens everywhere, we will always get the bad apples spoiling the bunch.

It's seems people don't like to use this new magical tool called google.
Then get screwed over then cry about it.

Just recently I realized that some people don't know how to use Google properly and that's why they have troubles finding what they need. So here's a tip (sorry if you already know it but I'm sure some people don't): if you don't want lots of useless garbage popping up in the search results just add the "+" before your keyword. Example: +[site name] +[scam]. Try it and you'll see much better looking results.

But still, these blog results may not be 100% correct because if someone pissed off with any gambling site then can easily write a negative blog about the site and submit it to any public sites or into their sites. So it very important to visit the forums and check what other members are talking about the particular site to get more accurate feedback about the site.

I don't actually read bad blogs since it can be manipulated by those envy blog makers and some of them made some bad propaganda just to create annoyment to the gamblers who used to play at them,  i usually rely on people's feedback and experiences,

And for what ive see there so many trolls around here and maybe they are the one who's giving bad image for certains sites, and truly for me as long as site pays and give more fun to their gamblers well i can still say that they are in good phase.

well, that is not always true!

for example people who lost money on many of the casinos when they invested in them like moneypot for example did research about it and moneypot or any others are not scam at all.

or for example those of us who lost money on bitfinex, cryptsy, btter, mtgox,... did our research and apart from some signs in some cases they weren't scams but some day they decided to run away.

what i want to say is that investment is risky and there is no escaping that, and i think we should keep it in mind after we excluded the scam ones from our list.

I was talking more specifically about sites that end up being scams, not ones that have proven very legit so far. Losing money due to being scammed is very different than simply losing money through gambling.

And yes I agree, it will always be risky. But again, research and diversification will always help minimize damage.

BTC to the moon is inevitable...
you should also know that sometimes research is not going to cut it. specially when it comes to investing in something so risky like a bitcoin casino. if you check their histories they all had bad times and good. bad times in the sense that they house lost and their investors lost with them.

Its really hard for someone to just write in google: "site_name scam or legit" and do research.

No research leads to blind investment, leads to lost.
But keep in mind that these research is also problematic since 1.Each can find pros and cons published on the same source, hard to know what to believe 2.Even the legit, clean, know, popular ones - can run away with your funds.
If you ask me how to keep safe as much as possible, I would say, yes, make a good research but always spread your risks.

It is tough to figure out which sites are essentially just hidden frauds. I remember there was this cloud mining site that played a very long-con game, and in the end just up and ran with the money. I think it isn't realistic to expect to be able to research a site and determine that it is 100% legit (at least not with the current state of the bitcoin world). That being said, doing research SIGNIFICANTLY lowers the likelihood of getting scammed, and is an absolute must if you're looking to invest in any site.

As you said, "spreading your risks" is probably the most important single bit of advice you could give anyone looking to start investing.

I think we've all seen this far too many times; somebody invests in a site that has been clearly identified as a scam by others, and then comes to their forum page to ask the admin about their payment. Recent example of this is people still trying to withdraw/deposit to diggit, even though it has been over a year since the site has been confirmed to no longer be running.

Can we all just take the time to research sites and ask around before we entrust them with our money? It'll save you the pain of knowing you just gave away money you can't reclaim, and helps reduce some of the unnecessary spam on here.

Sure, we could dismiss this as the fault of the person not looking into the site, but we should always encourage each other to be wiser and ultimately help create a positive community.

You dont even need to search for some good sites to invest or to gamble, in bct there are tons of site that really give you the best. Let say if I am newbie but with this forum I can even know which site is really good and not just by looking into thread that many people watched and reply. So I dont even need to make some research on how well each site is

Actually, it is very odd for a person to invest money on a platform which he/she is not familiar. Those persons who doesn't even bother to read or research are counted to be like 1 out of thousands (just a lucky guess).

Well, its a pity for them to lose their hard earned money thinking that they will actually earn on gambling investments.

Yes and its not only new sites you should research you should also research the old bitcoin casinos which were bought out by new devs who constantely  ignore any support tickets. I am not going to name any names but there are about a dozen or so out there. Always do your due diligence with any gambling sites.

If I'm not wrong people will do their best research before investing on any site. But some people may not be knowing where to find the correct answers and if the site looks professional then they may fall into these traps. Nowadays these scam sites are more, and they are just behind people money. Investors should be very careful before investing on any new sites.

Nope, some others are just been drag to the site without doing proper research on site legitimacy, thats why we can see many scam victims for either gambling or hyip investment since they cannot tell if that one is legit or not since mostly of falled victim are newbies, thats why if they use their brains and di some deep research on the things they wish to invest well im sure theirs no people will shout that they have been scam.
And these daddy-bangers know damn well that the sucka pool on this forum is deep and well stocked.  You know this and I know it, and all the scammers who prey on them suckas know it too.  I don't think it's even possible to invest in casinos or any other bitcoin business.  They is all jist traps for greedy ass mo fo's.

And then yes, people who fall for all this shiznit don't do their proppa research, and it's not like it even takes that long to find out if something is a scam or not.  Odds are it is.

There are persons that even encouraging them not to invest on those obvious shit still trying the risk. Once they saw a good returns at short period of time, they are blinded by the saying of others. There is also an event in the passed in one of my facebook group I belonged where I told one of the members there that a site he is trying to invest is really a shit. He told me that he can do anything with his money and weeks after the site shutted down.

So for me, if a person doesn't need an advice then go try for themselves and experience the actual output. It's better for me to feel for themselves the shit things just to be learned. They doesn't care for money at all since in every investment, a person must clear all things that their money will grow for a long term.

Its very interesting how fast they find threads on forums and scam accusations after they lose money. I think they are just lazy to do research, and they believe everything they read in sites, especially if site looks professional, have "certificate", proofs of payment, pictures of people saying "wow, i invested here and don't have to work any more" etc. Its really hard for someone to just write in google: "site_name scam or legit" and do research.

Doing research before investing in any program is always suggested but many newbie just get lured by all the big promises provided by scam projects. Not only hyip recently new type of crypto ponzi have came around like MLM based centralized cryptos, altcoins ICO by shit developers and cloud mining ponzis promising high return of 3%+ daily profit.

Not only for scam check, i also like to suggest people to calculate time for any cloud mining (if they are real, legally operating and have real mining farms with actual mining power they promises) to return you 100% of invested money from mining, in most of the cases return after deducting maintenance cost will take over a year to get your investment which can create panic for most of the newbies who have just invested in them without calculating possible real return.

I will not suggest anyone to believe in all big promises, all this ponzis do and i think all cloud mining site which are popping up everyday are also just another face of scam.

Recent example of this is people still trying to withdraw/deposit to diggit, even though it has been over a year since the site has been confirmed to no longer be running.

And that is exactly something I learned the hard way that a simple "xxx review" on google will save a lot of headache, stress, and eventually money and also no matter how much we shout and even announce it some people will still fall prey then later cry foul despite the fact that the onus is on them to do their due diligence before investing in anything.

Most of them who are doing that are newbies, even I. When I was still newbie in bitcoins I tend to do that invest to those sites that are kinda fishy and being speculated by many people to be scam. But since I am newbie and it was my negligence not to do some research, then I feel to their trap. And shouting through out their facebook group but nothing happened but it was long time ago already and I forgot that site.

I think it is very important to look for information before you do any investing and the greatest teacher to avoid scam is from your experience, it is really important to think with a clear head, if a site offer you with big interest and they said they can make profit everytime why it need your money?
nowadays the scammer is getting more and more clever you need to be extra careful, and don't be afraid to ask another person

this is one of those topics that is a "no-brainer". those who are wise enough will research before handing over their money to someone who they have not even met! i mean literary they never even see they person they are handing over they money to. they see some words on the screen saying "will pay 20% daily profit" and they open their wallets to not miss out on the golden opportunity ROFL.
and those who are not wise enough will never listen until their head hits a rock and they realize their wrong ways themselves.

You should have a research of these new sites before you invest with their offered bets so that you won't be their victims of scams in gambling. This is the main reason why people easily falls to their nice web presentation advertisements which you see legit but if your already in their membership its not the reallity of it, but failure of expectations happend. Having proper info research will prevent this to happen and you can even choose the best sites to deal with.
this forum itself can be a good venue of research because we can actually ask for opinions before we start placing our money to invest we just needed to properly present our concerned and most of people here find good answers it our money so better yet we need to take a bunch of care be more observant before entering anything that involves money.

Indeed because you can actually see those awared people who can give valid thoughs on that investments thing, and if yoy just ask on social medias surely you will get some bad info regarding to them so you would register on their link and they get some bunoses upon your deposits, and also background checking is truly the most ideal way to do since make us away to those scam site if we see some shaddy behavior.

Everybody should do their research before investing into anything. If you do not, you are basically giving your money away as if you were buying a lottery ticket and in case everything goes well you have hit the jackpot (a tiny one that is).

The problem is with these bitcoin related "start ups" that it is even more difficult to determine who is the team behind it and whether you trust them or not.

My thoughts would be to simply stick to those who have proven their worth for now and accept the potential lower payout as payment for the reduced risk.
