hi there and thanks for your help and consideration!  I am new to bitcoin.  I was trying to send myself bitcoin from my Electrum wallet to another Electrum wallet I created.  The money is not showing up in any of my wallets with the seeds I put in.  I have an address and a transaction ID but I don't know how to access it since none of my wallets show the money as received, only as sent and with a balance of $0.  If someone can please help me I would greatly appreciate it.

which version of Electrum did you use and where did you download it. There are several sites that lets you download a fake version

If you have the wallet you sent from, check the tx id on blockchain.com, then you know where you bitcoin went

If:
  • you have the mnemonic code (12 words) from both wallets AND
  • you send your BTC to the correct address (from your wallet) AND
  • you downloaded the original electrum (no malicious fake version)

your funds are safe!

We need a few more information to help you out.
Start off with answering NeuroticFish's questions and explain the procedure of sending your coins from one wallet to another (i.e. where did you download from / how did you create the wallet).

hi Scotty.

I am not 100% sure what you've done. It can be an easy mistake and your money is safe, or can be a hack and your money is gone. We need more info. I made a list of things you can check.

1. Where did you download electrum from? Was is electrum.org you typed in or some other site?
2. Care to post the transaction ID so we can get more info and we can help? Please make sure you post the transaction ID and not a private key or seed.
3. On the sending Electrum, is the transaction shown with the green check mark (confirmed) or a watch (unconfirmed)?
4. On the bottom-right corner there are more icons. Is one of them a green button (connected)? Or maybe a red one (not connected), or maybe 2 round arrows (synchronizing)? You should see green, else the 0$ you see is incorrect.
5. About the seeds = they can point to different types of addresses and you may have recovered the wrong one. This means that your funds are safe and it's only a small different thing to do. Can you please check/tell if the old addresses were starting with 1, 3 or bc1? Also if the recovered wallet addresses start with the same value?

I have an address and a transaction ID but I don't know how to access it since none of my wallets show the money as received, only as sent and with a balance of $0.

Use a block explorer like blockchair.com and paste your transaction ID there. If it shows up, it should show the details of your transaction. If the details are correct then you don't have to worry as it means you don't lose any funds and your wallet just needs to get synced. But if there's no transaction with your TXID, then try to make sure you've successfully broadcast your transaction. Use another wallet or another internet connection to check your wallet balance. Either your Electrum can't connect to the server or because your internet provider blocks any access to Electrum server.

First, calm down and check the circle icon on the lower-right, if it is red or circulating arrows, your client is just disconnected to a server or if it's newly installed, it is still downloading the "block_headers".
Now, please tell us the version number of your Electrum (Latest is v3.3.5), where did you downloaded it and if you don't mind (no if privacy matters) the receiver's bitcoin address.

The bitcoins aren't stored in the wallet, it's in the network. As long as you have the receiver's Electrum's SEED (12 random-words), those bitcoins are still in your control  Wink
