There are obviously some people selling out there. Wink

For if there are no sellers, there can also be no buyers!

I never sell    - 48 (43.2%)

And still, the price is not skyrocketing with most people never selling Tongue

There are obviously some people selling out there. Wink

But if even more were holding, that is when the price would really skyrocket.  There will always be a price someone is willing to sell at though.

i mostly sell high and buy higher

This is equivalent to buy high sell low if one uses BTC as the base currency. In short one is buying CAD high and then selling CAD low for BTC.

I mostly just buy and hold, but with the few coins I've traded, I've come out ahead.

This was done during the bubble inflation last spring by anticipating dDOS attacks by placing asks just beyond what normal growth should have taken it, then immediately placing bids just low enough to be met with the panic from the ensuing dDOS attack. Of course that doesn't work any more.

Now I use mainly whale anticipation. I had an ask at 149.9999 when a whale buy brought it close. After it fell back and stalled at 144, I moved it to 159.9999 where it sits for now. If it had been met at 149.9999 I would have bid at 138.0001 and been back in within days.

My last actual sell was at 165 during the dead cat bounce and I bought back at 97 about a week later. Since then I bought some more, also at 97 coincidentally.

Since I trade rarely and mostly hoard, I voted "I never sell".

I don't think I have the nerves of steel required to day-trade. I tried it a couple times with a very small amount of BTC but it never worked out for me.  I just buy and hold.  I can't say I have bought all of mine really low though.  Oh well.

Sell moderately high, buy back pretty low. I usually succeed doing that, except when fear or greed takes over.

[X] I have both buy and sell ads at localbitcoins.com with each 5-10% premium, and I trade all the time regardless of the current price.

The poll needs more options:

-buy low and sell lower
-buy high and sell higher (a winning strategy for some traders)
-all of the above (because I have done it all)
The poll is not about your strategy, but about whether your strategy works. Smiley So the question could have been "are you making money on your trading"?

I voted that I never sell but that hasn't always been the case.  I changed to that position after a bad round of trading in which i first gained ~3.5 btc, then managed to blow it with a pair of panic buy/sells followed by a 1btc gain which I lost in less than 3 minutes the next morning.

At that point I realized I suck at trading and switched to buy and hold.  luckily, I managed to come out with all the coins I paid cash for.

+1. And some people don't buy, just mine

:-)

I suspect the time at which a person began investing in BTC would be a mediating factor affecting the outcome of the poll's results.

I mostly suck at daytrading (with occasional exceptions), so buy and hold seems to work best for me.

It's common to boast about successes and keep shy about failures. So, comparing yourself to others you look like loser. I reckon it would be interesting to get the real picture. Hense the poll.
