There is a considerable history of violence towards visitors throughout the Caribbean, and this sounds like another tragic example. Often crimes are carried out by the children and relatives of officials and the powerful, and the law enforcement officials on most islands will do absolutely nothing. A good friend of mine, while serving as cook on a chartered sailboat was kidnapped and gang-raped and brutalized by four sons of police officers in Aruba. She managed to escape three weeks into the ordeal when they were transporting her to a spot to dispose of her and was returned to Canada, where she and her family were told that there was no compelling evidence to bring any charges. This after she provided full details, made identifications and provided DNA samples.

This is a sad story, and I hope Andrea's parents are able to generate some interest in this horrible situation and get some action, even if that action is just a release of some honesty about the death of their son.

Mie condoglianze ai suoi genitori e le mie preghiere che la loro ricerca di giustizia è successo.

That's brutal... If I was in the parents shoes I would be doing everything I can so this doesn't happen again......

That's some crazy circumstances.

are not alone, but when her parents were told only to the authorities at the time and prefer not to disclose it for fear.

Do they think he was murdered and this is a government cover up

..Many things do not come back, from the Italian consul who did not come on the island.

The parents have done everything by themselves, without knowing English

What's wrong with being cremated?

EDIT: Ah. He was in a different country? That totally makes sense. The risks we take entering into other countries. I expect that if I died in South Korea, my parents wouldn't get to see my body either.

parents were not warned.

When the parents arrived in the country and have asked to see their son, they handed him an envelope containing the ashes ..

no response from police, autopsy, state, institutions ..

ps: sorry for my english

Brutal!

yes ... if you can please help at least to spread ..

I don't want to judge it improperly, but what exactly is the point? He's gone. Do they think he was murdered and this is a government cover up? If not, why not let it go?
