Hey this problem is not only limited to Africa but this applies to all the underdeveloped and struggling nations wherein the corrupt politicians just loots the nation and amass wealth for their next ten generation. Africa is supposed to be one of the richest continent considering the natural resources and minerals it sits on top of but it has been colonized and now the slavery and corrupt mindset has stayed forever in their hearth and mins. It's difficult to change their mindset except their own death these corrupt politicians needs to be eradicated but the problem is there are 1000s of such politicians hence need a strong framework which should be transparent of every single transactions and there should be accountability in order to end corruption.
Yes not only Africa, but Africa as a continent has failed it's citizens, looking at the resources it has, Africa is supposed to be one of the richest continents, but no, they are one of the poorest continents, a continent where politicians makes and safe money for their unborn generations, this developed countries takes your resources, use it to develop their country and still treat us like slaves, Africans all over the world are doing well that means Africa outside having the resources, they have the best brains to manage and utilise these resources.

What is going on is neocolonialism, that is a different kind of colonialism of the modern age. The established continents are still manipulating the underdeveloped continent, they show their leaders bananas just to attract them to come surrender their countries wealth with them and allow them access to their natural resources which they use as raw material for their manufacturing sectors and after they resell some of them back to the poor countries who buy them with foreign currency which further devalue their local currency and economy. Those third world country leaders need to wake to know that they are equals and begin to utilize their raw materials and that will stop brain drain. Some of the best brains leave their countries because of insecurity and no job. It is unfortunate and those leaders need to wake up from their sleep to do the right thing for their people and not to be stooge in the midst of plenty.

This is not only true on Africa but also to the rest of the world that using a democracy type of government like my country Philippines. Most of the politicians here especially those who have a Chinese bloodline sell all the government properties to private companies that is owned by foreigners that later we found out that it’s blood related to them.
Most of the politician here right a law that exclude themselves on the scope of the law while they often sold our resources to foreigners in exchange to under the table payment despite our country is already suffering due to limited resources available for our local worker.
When I see people advocate that politicians should stop this act I wonder why it's been discussed here whereas when it comes to this politics we then to move away from it that we don't want to be part of it, then we still complain.

sometimes democratic systems are not always as 'democratic' as people expect. for example, in my country, the current president supports one of the presidential candidates and appoints his son as vice presidential candidate. it sparked a spark in the country's political system, because of how the president with his strength supported the presidential pair, plus the presidential candidate was the minister of defense, and he said he mobilized his subordinates and government assistance to increase his electability, and sure enough he was elected president.

Politicians never do clean politics. Today's politicians are into dirty politics. They make promises but can't fulfill them. And don't even try. It's very sad for the people of a country. Because they elect a candidate with a lot of expectations. But Later that candidate does not fulfill even one of his promises. Before coming to power, no one can understand the mind of someone or what kind of leader he will be.
Those practices are not only done in Africa,sure in Africa this is more emphasized as a thing as in there the resources are a lot.However let me tell you that in every poor country in the world the same type of politics happen,the politicians claim to be fighting for the people and the nation yet in 95% of the cases they are fighting only to enrich themselves and their families for generations.The suffering is then a burden to all the people of a nation or even a continent like Africa in your case which I highly doubt you will see any change as human race is based on greed and the desire to have more and more,so overall it will be very difficult to change that and this is what I see also in the country where I live in now in an East European one which resembles a lot with Africa in terms of resources.

Africa has immense potential and resources and by focusing on development it can be transformed to a more better place. But the type of politics being played in Africa, politicians impoverished the masses and enrich themselves, It's very disheartening to see politicians using politics to as a means to enrich themselves instead of working for the betterment of the people and the country. I think that majority of poor countries, are the way they are because of bad leadership, whether it's in Africa, or in any other continents, because there are other countries that are in the same level with them in terms of natural resources or even without any, yet their economy is vibrant. Politicians in these poor countries are self centered, they only care about accumulating wealths that their unborn generations will not finish, at the expense of their economy which will keep detoriating and they're so wicked that they don't care. The worst case is that when the citizens votes for someone that can turn the country around for better, these wicked politicians will find a way to rig the election, so that they and their likes will continue to impoverish their citizens, it's very sad.

This is actually a everyday norms in a society where poverty and hardship is on high display, Just look at most part of Africa, and how endowed they are with natural resources, but the citizens of the state still lives in abject poverty which is totally unacceptable, I am a proud African, I know what going on in my surroundings better than anyone else, most nations are complaining and are experiencing natural disasters of different kind, but in Africa, our own disaster is man made, and our own disaster are our politicians, they are the brain behind all the suffering and poverty going on in Africa, which is very sad and regrettable too me.
