interesting story.. maybe we do need a better Alt-coin ?

Ccoindesk - ‘Eavesdropping’ Attack Can Unmask Up to 60% of Bitcoin Clients

Not sure if you're serious .. pretty hard to tell .. so I'll give it one go.

Have you even considered what ring signatures coupled with i2p could do for a currency network? That 60% number goes to much less than 1%. You lose the ability to unmask 60% tx's monthly with trivial resources and about $2000 if I remember what the article said correctly?

i am not sure i fully understand what you mean.. but i am in no way trying to troll here guys.
so thanks for the reply Smiley

ring signatures= cryptonote based coins like BBR or XMR
i2p = ip obfuscation layer, network similar to tor.

It goes without saying that these couple together improves significantly upon bitcoins pseudonimity . vastly different to gimmicky & centralised coinjoin nodes or whatever these junkcoins promote as anon-send

Anonymity is a disadvantage and overrated, i'm glad the coins i have didn't go with this stupid hype

Quote
Apart from the possibility of regulatory issues, if the blockchain/transaction record is hidden, then groups of pool owners of large pools could potentially collude to double spend, and if there is no transaction record, then this will not be detectable. Other such scenarios exist as well - remember that the blockchain is a public ledger designed to prevent or record fraud. Hiding this exposes the coin to serious risks.

You know it concerns me that discussions are always ignored here..

people just don't care.. about any of this

gimmick + advertise, hype, pump & dump.. lurk in shadows.

i have come to expect this from the community.. your behavior shows me you guys doesn't care about the scene in the slightest.
it's just a free for all to get as much BTC's as possible to cash out to Fiat asap and other than that who cares..

defending some scam coin will get 200 page views in an hour but lets talk about coin anonymity ?
no sorry i can't be bothered.. i have people to insult and call "Trolls" Roll Eyes

Really was there some huge crowd of people saying there was a huge problem with Bitcoins privacy
and that someone had to do something about this problem asap ?

bitcoin provides no privacy/anonymity at all.

I wouldn't trust another kiddie-forked btc clone for providing it either though.

If you're concerned about anonymity/privacy, you already use a few well-known tools to provide some more layers, some of them being fully supported by btc (or the other way around, according to the tool)

The plague of Anonymous coins in the Altcoin scene is getting ridiculous.
You'd think this feature is the most important aspect of any coin yet i don't see any good reason for it at all..
Seems like a gimmick to me ..nothing more.

If we compare many of these Altcoins to say Bitcoin itself then is Bitcoin not anonymous enough ?
Really was there some huge crowd of people saying there was a huge problem with Bitcoins privacy
and that someone had to do something about this problem asap ?

OR did this gimmick just pop up as way to fuel making more clone coins ?
Clone a coin tack on some anon crap and and rinse repeat..

I avoid them.. i don't need gimmicky anon garbage hype clone coins thanks.
besides why do we need 90 different guys working on 90 different coins ?
I guess what is needed is an EXCUSE to clone and release 90 more clone coins lol
Why ?
Hmmmm wouldn't have anything to do with MONEY would it ?
Naw ..couldn't be ....that is silly and outrageous nonsense ..i'm sounding like a conspiracy theorist.
i'm sureaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall their intentions are good  Roll Eyes
