Currently, we plan on it being able to be used as either as a USB device sitting on your desk or as a PCIe device, inside the machine. Protip: Maybe there's a market for little stands to hold your Monarchs?

Needless to say, the shipping of Monarchs will still be on hold come February, 2014.

Your $4mil at work
That confirms he is using socks.

And the following confirms he doesn't use them.

I wonder where the foul mouthed BFL spokesdude has gone too. The silence is deafening. Hello? If you miss your daily quota of personal attacks and trolling accusations, this is going to reflect badly in your performance review under the "productivity" section. Please think of the children and save Christmas.

Are you so dense that you haven't figured it out yet?  I only come in here and whip up the natives when the BFL mania dies down.  Right now, it's a raging fire, you don't need my input.  The top 10+ threads in the hardware forum are all about BFL.  If things start dying down again, I'll post more.

...and they're mostly debates about whether BFL is staffed by idiots or thieves.

You are one of my best workers Smiley  I appreciate you more than you know.

Thank you! Must be nice saving all the effort of creating sockpuppet accounts yourself.

Absolutely!  I don't believe in sock puppet accounts, I just get people like you to post constantly.

The poll should have been.....

Will Josh live to see another birthday?
  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Results may have been the same.

I'm surprised so many suckers like being screwed so badly.
Maybe everyone who bought Josh's junk promises should throw him a party, too, maybe buy him a trip to the Bahamas or something....
I'm surprised more people do not want to suck his junk, as well.  Roll Eyes

That question is a stupid one, in that it's ridiculously vague and subjective.

The question is, who can you trust at all? BFL's slow as hell, and it sucks. Then again, so is Avalon. Who else are you going to trust? KNC? Buy ASICminer gear that is priced to NEVER make ROI?  Huh

It kinda sucks that nobody seems to be able to both develop a decent ASIC, AND develop relationships of trust with their customers, but until there are more/better options out there, people don't have a whole lot of choices if they want to be in the Bitcoin mining game.

BFL and Avalon are shitty in terms of broken promises of delivery dates, so if the question is whether you trust them to deliver ON TIME, the only rational answer is HELL no.

However, if the question is whether or not you trust that they'll deliver 'some day' (2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+2 weeks+...)

Well, they've demonstrated that they have the ability to deliver quality products on a timeline somewhere beyond 'fuck you' but still well this side of 'never'... Wink Will it still make ROI? That's the million dollar question everybody wishes they knew the answer to. Absent a crystal ball, I'd say, 'maybe'. Wink We don't know what will happen with bitcoin value over the next year, so it's impossible to say whether you're better off putting that money directly into bitcoin (or some other investment), or holding your nose and placing yet another pre-order, 'shipping in 2-60 weeks'.

As badly as certain people want their fantasy of "Sonny is a criminal who is running a scam to run away with millions of dollars in pre-orders" to come true, BFL continues to deliver on products (but not on deadlines).

Personally, I think they're absolute idiots for announcing another product that hasn't even been prototyped yet. Figured they MIGHT have learned that lesson from the last go-round. But they're clearly eternal optimists of their own abilities. I'm thinking the final product will ship your hashing power in 2-3 cards, and it'll be 3-6 months late, but that's sheer speculation...

I find that the lower you set your expectations going in, the less you set yourself up for disappointment in the future.

I really like that they introduce a new product when they have not even fulfilled all of the orders for their old product and are apparently experiencing all kinds of technical challenges with it.
How the hell are they not out of business yet.

Fools keep giving them money

i know, you are boycotting all. me too maybe now? if yes - then do it fair Wink

Here is fair.

They have taken over a 1 year to deliver their products.
They lied about having it ready.
They are refusing refunds.

... and you want "Maybe".

Just don't vote problem solved.

adding "maybe" as an option would be fair...

Maybe?   You can't "maybe" trust someone.  Either you do or you don't.

because they have announcED and not introducED it yet.
and there are people other than pro or contra BFL. there are a lot of neutral people who are watching all these hysterical pro/contra. they're just quiet.
MAYBE would be good for those.

btw you can choose other word if strictly against MAYBE-word.
"UNSURE" maybe?
"NEUTRAL" maybe?
etcetera maybe? Wink

Most BFL customer that have received and made ROI are over the moon and will be purchasing the new blade.

Those stuck in line with little chance of ROI are split.

I will not upgrade, however the thought has entered my head,

Will production tapper off now so I won't actually receive my goods before the new blade starts to ship? This is the Trap !

What ever ! No more $$$'s are going in BFL's direction from me,
Product = very good
Trust = 0
Ponzi = probably
unlawful refund policy = defiantly
Josh's attitude to customers = priceless

Maybe?   You can't "maybe" trust someone.  Either you do or you don't.
Trust requires time.  Trust requires experience.  Trust requires knowledge.

Maybe the question needed is: "Should you trust".  This is where Maybe falls into place.

Maybe you should trust them, but more time/experience/knowledge is needed.

Most people treat trust as a knee-jerk reaction to a given situation.  I view it as a scale.

Pros:
Has shipped in the past
Is shipping now
Units work to specifications
Production speed seems to be inceasing
Happy Customers(perception)

Cons:
Slow
Repeated delays
Hard to get refunds
Poor design on some units
Perceived customer service (tough call, lots of whiners)
Unhappy Customers(perception)

You will always have unhappy customers, but you have to ask WHY?

Many early BFL customer had a dream... that they will receive this magic money making box and they'll get rich.  Time passed and others got the magic box first.  Tempers grew and time passed.  BFL started shipping magic boxes.  Joy was had and time passed.  Joy turned to anger, the magic boxes aren't coming fast enough.  Profitability drops and anger becomes hate.  REVENGE! they shout, refund our money! WHY?

BFL (and other companies) did as asked, they produced these magic money making boxes.  The problem was the demand for these magic boxes was so great that only the first few lucky ones could actually profit.  Who is ultimately at fault?  BFL and other companies for selling the boxes or the masses of people who over ordered them to the point they became worthless?

I did a time/motion study based on the theory that BFL had started shipping the equivalent of a mini-rig per day starting Oct 1.  At the end of 60 days, the calculation I used showed that they would not have shipped all of the orders they had received and likely would have not gotten far into July's orders.  If you hadn't received your order by Dec 1 you would never have reached RoI.  We know now that BTC rose dramatically, but imagine being there on Dec 1, mining 1.4BTC a day with your shiny new LS making a whopping $15 a day.  By Jan 1st you're lucky to see 1BTC a day.

Anyone supporting BFl in anyway shape or form is a complete ________.  They have destroyed the little good faith the community had. They are nothing but a bunch of lying scumbags in every sense of the phrase. I think trust is almost extinct in the bitcoin community because of BFL and their practices. They have paved a way for anti genuine behavior by the rest of the would be onlookers looking to dip into the bitcoin industry and at the minimum they should be outkasted, boycotted, in these forums as well as future bitcoin conferences!

They are preying on the community at large and the hoards of newbies and they are tainting bitcoin businesses present and future and their behavior is appalling by any standard and reflects the practices of common criminals. Their record and trailing bloodbath of ripped off customer loudly speaks for itself. Not only are they not trustworthy but they lack sensory ability to realize it. They are incapable of illuminating the misfortune they have brought upon thousand and if given the opportunity they would scorch their customers again and again.
