Matthew sparks has written an article about bitcoin,

There is a poll at the bottom. Currently "I believe it's a fad" is winning

Not anymore. "I use them regularly for goods or services" is way ahead now.

At least the poll came out nice Cheesy "I use them regularly to buy goods/services  51.16%  (88 votes)"

I want to say this, but I can't yet as I haven't bought anything. There's nothing I really want to spend my coins on yet, but hopefully that'll change.
Me too Sad The only thing I actually bought with bitcoins were USB miners. I'd buy electronics but there are no retailers accepting BTC nearby.

you can go online for those :-)

I bet most people who voted for that haven't actually bought anything or much yet lol

Ha, I thought about doing that just to help out the poll a bit, but then I'd be a liar. I wish there was a I currently own some but only for speculation but I want to use them regularly to buy goods/services optionGrin.

The Telegraph is read by the sort of demographic that could put a lot of money into BTC. So vote away - no log-in required.

Poll options suck.

Typical media shit for brains.

My $.02.

Wink

Actually this guy has written some informed pieces about bitcoins including his article "10 places to spend bitcoins in the UK". Which featured my business. So he's got a fan for life in me.

There's never going to be enough options to cover everyone, but I currently own some but only for speculation, but I want to use them regularly to buy goods/services, so I don't know what to vote.

with a further 29 per cent saying that they did not know if they would ever try a digital currency
Lol, that's funny, when the majority of normal money only exists as bank credit on bank computers. Apparently 29% of people don't even realize they use a "digital" currency on a daily basis.

Bhenchod!

They're so shrewd when drafting options of Poll.

What is your stance on crypto-currencies?
I use them regularly to buy goods/services
I own some but only for speculation
I'm intrigued but don't know where to begin
I don't trust the idea
I believe it's a fad
I think they will be criminalised

Who don't know the ugly truth of biased media..! I voted for positive.. lets see..!

Step 1: Mass media creates FUD around Bitcoin which influences the people who pay attention to mass media
Step 2: Mass media polls those very same people and find they have a lot of fear, uncertainty and doubt when it comes to Bitcoin
Step 3: Broadcast the negative poll results throughout all of the mass media channels
Step 4: Repeat step 1-3

Once what we know as mass media is dead- these simple tactics won't work anymore- their manipulation techniques are pathetic BUT they are fighting Bitcoin now and not ignoring it which means soon they will lose.

Currently, option1 is on 48.2%. Need a clear majority in favour before I hand over to someone on day shift.

Bump.

Permissible answers are:   1) I use them regularly to buy goods/services.  And 3) I'm intrigued but don't know where to begin.
