I think we might reach a higher value than the january value for at least a short while this year. But probably not too much more, I would guess that it will be under $400/coin. Which is a good thing, because more time to accumulate.

The peak price so far in 2015 remains USD 321 at 1am on 1 January 2015.
The July peak just didn't quite break through.
Any new predictions for the AYH of 2015? Or will it be 321?

There is no point to vote soon. First the market has to find THE bottom, then we'll have an idea how long it takes to build the new bull market.

I am fairly sure the bottom will be somewhere between $230 and $250 or so. We are likely to see a large rally within a few months at most.

I think the $2000~$5000 is likely to happen somewhere this year. Higher is possible, but I am not so sure it will happen this year. Maybe next year if there's a 'double-bubble' (which could also happen around the end of the year if the next peak will be before summer).

A simple question, do you buy 1 btc for 1000 dollars? A question for all the forum users.

Plenty of people did once upon a time. When there's a compelling reason to do so, plenty will again.

I think we can forgot about 1'000 dollars, not in these 5 years. Maybe when the block reward will be less than 0.50 btc I think we can start thing 1k dollars/btc .

A simple question, do you buy 1 btc for 1000 dollars? A question for all the forum users.
Of course I'd be delighted to if btc traded for 10k normally.

I can't understand the minds of people who ask such silly questions.

I love that so many see the price to be over 2k$

But reality is that it wont be higher than 500$ max.

Ofc I hope that it will go a lot higher, but I just dont think its possible.
Agree. that is why I voted $400-500 range. I simply don't see it higher this year. 2015 is a base-building year and the preparation for the next halving event. the real fireworks are to be expected next year, not this one.

I'm also expecting the halving to have some effect but have similarly heard a lot from others about expectations for halving - wouldn't that mean that it's likely that the buying for those popular expectations happens far earlier than the actual event?

I think the halving and the ETFs coming online will be the two next major events, but the timing of the latter is also unknown.

$400-$500 seems like reasonable growth from now until the end of the year, I've just never known BTC's price to do anything in a reasonable manner for long before it goes apeshit one way or the other.

Can't see it going over $400 at all.

2015 will be a big year for Bitcoin.  Microsoft just busted down the door for merchant adoption which should ramp up quickly.  This in turn gives legitimacy to Bitcoin as not just a currency for dark markets.  When more and more BIG companies start accepting Bitcoin, mainstream will start to take notice and wonder more about Bitcoin.  As soon as I actually learned what Bitcoin was, I was sold as I believe many more will be as well.

People said exactly this last year and I'm sure will be saying it about every new year.

I will go with $1600 on this one. I don't think it will stay there for very long though.

well thats quite optimistic statement to give, there would have to be something insanely huge happening to bring us up to that price.
while its hard to predict what will happen next with bitcoin volatility affected with every new information, i would still say that 500-ish is quite realistic, wouldnt count on more than that to happen,
atleast not by this years end.

I voted $400-500 range, as I see more of the horizontal trend ahead. We are looking for the bottom and it takes a while to find it. I also don't see many important developments coming in 2015, let alone something unexpected, that would have the potential to shoot the price upwards. All rather points to the year 2016, when halving happens, as the more probable 'fireworks time'.

Voted for $750-$1500, just as a pure guess.  Realistically, we'll have to surpass $400 first, since we're still in this $350-$400 sideways pattern.

Once we break this $400 price again and the COIN ETF launches all bets are off.

So far this first quarter I've been WAAYYYYY OFF!   Cry

NO fear, I stick to my word for better of worse, as we still have alot of good things in the pipeline that could potentially give us the price spike we need.

Have yet to see the NY Bitlicense pass, the aftermath of the 50000 BTC SR auction, the Gemini launch, the COIN ETF launch, and more and more to come.

Ain't got a clue.

The things that we thought might happen in 2014 - ETF, non piece of shit exchange, solid regulations for financial types - are likely to come to fruition next year.

If merchants want more of the public on board, then they're going to have to start incentivising BTC's use. It's great for them. Next year they'll need to make it great for their customers. Most of them are flirting with it right now. 2015 is when they'll get serious with it if they're in it for the long term.

I think it'll be a good year.
