Looks gone to me, even checked my wallet address through blockchain.info and it seems empty gg. Atleast i didn't keep my main pool of BTC's there.

It is shared wallet, you cant check instawallet ballance through blockchain.info, when you deposit to your address it is ALWAYS gone within one hour or so, but when you access instawallet URL, you see the balance.

I believe the few bitcents I have there are safe. Lets wait and see.

Surely they are liable to some extent? When there is clear evidence that they have taken btc from their customers? I'm hoping that assets have been siezed as a security measure and they plan to put them back when they've ironed out these issues, some sort of announcement would be nice though!

Not looking good IMO. The bad part is you're left on your own when something like this happens too. Sure, use a service that's convenient to change $ into BTC, but get it the hell out of there into a wallet you and only you have control over ASAP.

Seems it was emptied before they froze up and sent everything to cold storage  Undecided

You sure your funds weren't emptied to the 'Instawallet Cold Storage' address? Surely this confirms that our btc is safe, as long as it's not an inside job

I agree, it's not looking good. Surely they can't just resume their other services as normal and abandon their instawallet users though? People would completely lose trust in the company?

I've seen the security breach could be their google indexing problems where up to 3000 wallets were 'leaked' online. Maybe this is why they haven't stated ALL instawallets are safe? I can see my funds went to 'cold storage', that's kinda reassuring?  Undecided

The fact that other sites have already come out and made statements that users coins will be safe but instawallet hasn't makes me very nervous.

I would think if there is some good news around this security breach instawallet would have said so by now. The fact that they haven't isn't a good sign imo.

I still had a very small amount of BTC on there that I had forgetn to transfer out, hopefully I get it back.

Lots of people, including myself, have been left in the dark over the last couple of days. Yes, I realise it wasn't the most secure place to store coins to say the least.

However, please speculate. Very interested to hear your opinions.  Huh
