Wanna definitely join ya and I'd choose BTC over anything (even Lamborghini) but with some questions in my mind:

- As these numbers (in winnings) are extremely high, what do you expect from your affiliates?

- Those who participate in this, will they get paid their affiliate commissions? If yes, then is there are minimum withdrawal or we get a commission immediately after a sale takes place?

- What about taxes? Who will pay them?
Because the prizes are too big, they are surely taxable. If BTC is to be taken, then there's no issue as BTC can be kept hodl but what if someone choose Ghini over BTC (or any other crypto of their choice)?

Houston, we have a live one on the line.  Grin

Seriously, bud, I truly appreciate the well-thought-out questions pertaining to IAO Launchpad in spite of this thread was created so to poll a top [affiliate] prize (type of car or cash in the form of crypto). That said, I'll address each question in order.

Quote
... I'd choose BTC over anything (even Lamborghini) but with some questions in my mind:

As mentioned, cash via crypto in lieu of an Lambo et al. is an option on our platform.

Quote
As these numbers (in winnings) are extremely high, what do you expect from your affiliates?

Considering it's a numbers game, some affiliates will perform far better than others depending on their reach, e.g. a YouTube channel with a substantial subscriber base or having a FB or Twitter account with many followers which they blast content to on a regular basis.

Our business model does incorporate an airdrop for simply signing up and obtaining your referral code, of which also acts as a coupon code for purchasing future Utility Tokens of startups embracing our crowdfunding platform at a handsome discount.

Quote
Those who participate in this, will they get paid their affiliate commissions? If yes, then is there are minimum withdrawal or we get a commission immediately after a sale takes place?

Purchased tokens are distributed immediately. Airdropped tokens will be allocated prior to being available on exchanges. No minimums.

Being a US-based corporation, IAO Launchpad will adhere to tax laws pertaining to the US and perhaps abroad if warranted.

Here's to hopin' the TOP affiliate opts for the Ghini cuz then I'll get to hand-deliver it (on a trailer of course [if final location is in US]).

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns, bud.

When will your site work: http://www.iaolaunchpad.com/  Huh
I want to get detailed information about your project, learn technical details and get acquainted with the team that helps you in the implementation.

Still populating the site with content, bud, with apologies.

Are you interested in joining the Team?

Bruno

I am interested to know about the conditions of joining the team and what are the requirements for candidates? How much capital investment will be required or is it free? When it's clear, then I can make a decision.

Wait, what? I can charge people for joining the team. In that case, I'm seeking no less than 100 TEAM members.  Grin Grin Grin

Seriously, bud, no capital investment is required to join the Team. But if something got lost in translation, the proposed project may require infusion of capital depending on what level you desire to participate.

Please stay tuned to this channel, plus I'll PM you when the site's ready.

Update: VOD removed the neg on my Trust thingy upon further review. Again, I've never had a problem with VOD, hence not getting ill with him for his actions, of which he honestly (most likely) felt it prudent at the time to tag me for proposing/advancing a lottery.

Peace, VOD.

A lottery is generally defined as a promotion in which all three of the following elements are present: PRIZE, CHANCE and CONSIDERATION.

PRIZE: Anything of value awarded to winners: cash, trips, cars, or merchandise for example.

CHANCE: Winners are selected by a random process (i.e., drawing, seeded winning objects, pre-selected numbers)

ALL 3 MUST be present: Prize + Chance + Consideration.

My model does not include "CHANCE" whatsoever.

Your model does not include any chance at all?

I think you are implying chance has to be a "random" drawing, which is not the case.

I am not guaranteed to win if I participate.  There is a chance someone else will win.  I cannot control other's actions to eliminate this chance.

Just read up on the rules for giveaways - otherwise your domain will probably be seized.   Of course, you would be out nothing other than your time if this happened, but everyone else who participated would have lost their consideration.  If this type of lottery/raffle/etc was legal, everyone would be doing it.

Thanks for your ongoing support in making bitcoin a legitimate currency.  Smiley

Edit:  I located the following:
Quote
According to 12 USCS § 25a , “lottery" includes any arrangement whereby three or more persons (the "participants") advance money or credit to another in exchange for the possibility or expectation that one or more but not all of the participants (the "winners") will receive by reason of their advances more than the amounts they have advanced, the identity of the winners being determined by any means which includes--

(A) a random selection;

(B) a game, race, or contest; or

(C) any record or tabulation of the result of one or more events in which any participant has no interest except for its bearing upon the possibility that he may become a winner.

In a race between you and 9 other people, there's a chance the you may not win, ergo a lottery since chance was involved.

Here's a better example gleaned from a company in the US:

https://simplora.com/affiliates

Quote
Simplora is a debt-free company located in South Florida. Our mission is to make website/funnel building as simple as possible for the average user

...

Every month, the top 3 affiliates will receive special prizes. These can range from Tayroc Watches, smartphones, tablets, computers, and even all expense paid vacations

Is that considered a lottery because there's a chance ALL others participating in the referral program can't win the top prizes?

How about some crypto examples ...

https://bullsoncryptostreet.com/become-an-affiliate/

Quote
You will have a chance to win prizes for your effort along with your commissions. We will have competitions during launches and random prize giveaways for our top affiliates.

Personally, I don't like that one cuz randomness is incorporated, something I will NOT do.

Ouch! Imagine tens of thousands of other traders unable to control other's actions to eliminate the chance to be one of the top 1,000 traders.

Seriously, VOD, my proposed project IS NOT considered a lottery by any stretch of the imagination.

I voted for Other, the Other being 1983 DeLorean.

As for Vod: Vod, where does it say this is a lottery? I don't know what Gleb is trying to do here exactly but I didn't see the word "lottery" written before you wrote it.

To be fair towards VOD, lottery could've been implied, albeit it's no such thing.
I think these discussion or inputs should be started on a new thread on reputations section  Wink

The top prize, whether a car or not, WILL have the option of accepting the cash equivalent in crypto of your choice. The way I currently have it written is

Will you be posting your lottery license?

Wait, what? BTW, hey, Vod. I missed you.

No license required, bud. They'll be prizes to top affiliates where no purchase is necessary to win. In fact, with my model, an affiliate won't have to put up a single satoshi to win any of the prizes including the top prize, currently a Lambo (total $500,000 [$50K] in prizes). All legit.

Prizes - this, of course, very is identically! But I still do not understand what this prize will be for? What is the essence of the competition or lottery? Can you answer that question?

Not a lottery. As for what the prizes are for, I'm not ready to reveal the model but a major hint can be found in my sig. So, yes, I can answer the questions, albeit not in full but suffice enough. Oh, and here's where the site will be built: http://www.iaolaunchpad.com/.

This post is again to address VOD's concern. I'll start of by saying that I've never had an issue in VOD, in fact came to his defense myriad times during my tenure here. That said, VOD felt it necessary to give me a neg on the Trust thingy. In the past, I've never requested to have negs removed, albeit all unwarranted. This time I oped to make an exception cuz I believe an error was made on VOD's part is all. The following is the PM I just sent to VOD (I will not be posting his reply reply if any outta privacy concerns, it being the prudent thing to do [or is it 'not do'?]):

Hey, VOD.

Just noticed that you gave me a neg on the thrust thingy for trying to start a lottery. According to the link you provided, you'll find this:

Quote
A lottery is generally defined as a promotion in which all three of the following elements are present: PRIZE, CHANCE and CONSIDERATION.

PRIZE: Anything of value awarded to winners: cash, trips, cars, or merchandise for example.

CHANCE: Winners are selected by a random process (i.e., drawing, seeded winning objects, pre-selected numbers)

Revain, among others in the crypto space, have given away prizes to their affiliates or for "consideration": https://coinivore.com/2018/02/13/revain-giveaway-lamborghini-huracan-competition/

Quote
1) Lamborghini Huracan Coupe (any color)
2) 15 ETH
3) 10 ETH
4) 5 ETH
5) 3 ETH
6-10) 2 ETH
11-25) 1 ETH
26-50) 0,5 ETH
51-100) 0,3 ETH
101-200) 0,2 ETH
201-500) 0,1 ETH
501-1000) 0,05 ETH

Please consider removing the neg, whereupon we'll chuck it up as a minor error in interpretation as to what constitutes a lottery.

Later, bud.

Now if you'll excuse me, back to work on by lottery site.  Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

I've voted 2020 Lamborghini Huracan Evo yet this is my target when i jumped here on Crypto. When Lambo?  Grin

This is quite a good prize and its good that you are picking the top 20 rather seeing some 1st-3rd place selection.
For those people who do love affiliate marketing then this one might be a worthy shot to try on.

I also opted to not use paying the TOP 1,000.

To let the cat outta the bag some more, here's the prize structure I currently have in mind (please comment upon) ...

  • 1st Place: 2020 Lamborghini Huracán EVO Spyder (or U$280,000 in crypto of choice)

    .
  • 2nd Place: Viking Ultimate World Cruise (or U$100,000 in crypto of choice)

    .
  • 3rd Place: Rolex Day-Date 40 Yellow Gold - Diamond Bezel Watch (or U$60,000 in crypto of choice)

    .
  • 4th Place: U$25,000 in crypto of choice
  • 5th Place: U$10,000 in crypto of choice
  • 6th Place: U$5,000 in crypto of choice
  • 7th to 10th Place: U$2,500 in crypto of choice (U$10K total to 4 winners)
  • 11th to 20th Place: U$1,000 in crypto of choice (U$10K total to 10 winners)

With apologies, my "veil" reply was meant as humor acting as a placeholder, penned on my smartphone, knowing that I would be giving a more detailed answer to your query as I am doing now.

Now I forgot the question.  Cry Wait, now I remember.  Grin

The top prize among 19 others will be awarded to the TOP 20 affiliates. You merely will need to sign up to become an affiliate, whereupon you'll receive a referral code to pass along to family, friends, via social media, etc. Of course, the more people you reach out to to get the word out, the better your chances of winning one of the top prizes.

BTW, when you first sign up to get your referral code, you'll be rewarded with free IAO tokens, indicative of those who sign up below you and others below them (only two tiers; again, not an MLM, lottery, raffle, pyramid or Ponzi scheme - all legit).

To reveal the secret a tad more, total prizes will be $500,000 ($500K).

Now, are you still intrigued?

This car - it's just an expensive toy. I don't want to make a big deal of it with a car like this. I prefer to live modestly and within my means. I as a prize would prefer money or funds in cryptocurrency! If I have money, not only will I be able to buy what I want, but I will also be able to invest to get even more money!

EDIT: See this post: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.51505277

I'm in the process of formulating a venture where its business model is based on a referral program. Although I lean heavily toward the top prize being a 2020 Lambo, I request input from the community to see what they prefer.

Thanks in advance.

Bruno
