I thought some miners had said their cost level was around $150. But that was many, many months ago. I guess they'll have upgraded equipment since and the difficulty hasn't done that any favors either.

$150 used to be the bare minimum cost + profit for miners, that was in late 2014/early 2015. As you mentioned, the equipment cost and dff factor has gone up quite a bit since then.

I'd guess $450 is the new, bare minimum cost + profit for most miners, below which it doesn't pay to mine any more. After the halving, the price of a bitcoin should be around $900 or else the miners will start turning off their gear.

Call me crazy but new ATH will be $7000.

Cheesy It need close to $800 and probably $1000 not, I will  keep my reasonable expectations on this year.

Reaching a new ATH isn't really a problem once we are a few years away from now.

If we do happen to see a new ATH after a few years then I expect it to be close to $1500.

I don't think we'll be seeing anything above $1500 by the end of this year, if we even go that high. We know miners were able to function on $400/Bitcoin before, so the next bottom for the miners will likely be something around $700-$800. Maybe they were undercutting some of their potential revenue at that point and their costs force them up to $450 or something, but I don't think anything will happen above $1000 this year.

At this point I don't spend much attention on seeing a new ATH as we aren't even close to $1000 yet. But if I have to throw a number then I'll say $1400.

you can't be serious.

i think that the new all time high will be over 2400 dollars because bitcoin has a lot of potential to grow at the moment, people are willing to invest a lot of money into it right now

it is all about the time frame.
if we are looking at a short time like a month or two i say the price is only gonna rise to ~$600 but in the longer period like the end of this year it can get to a new ATH and this time it can go even higher than $2000 and stay.

I agree with this. A new all time high could be in the end of this year or early next year. Not just after the halving.
though i doubt that it is reachable this year even after the halving, in my opinion the more believable time of this happening will bein like two or three years not earlier

I voted for $1800. But I think not that this value will be reached this year.

I expect that the halving upswing until the beginning of July will only lead to $700-800, maybe even less. Then as I already stated I expect a correction, because of  massive profit taking.

The 1800 could be reached between 2018 and 2020. Maybe 2017, but first the user base will have to grow a lot more and the scalability problem must be definitively solved. So if you want to speculate on my price target you very probably will need a lot of patience. Or you contribute and make Bitcoin more usable by launching services for the "average Joe".

yeah it always takes a little bit of time to reach such a high price. and also this time around it is not going to be same as before because the market is so much bigger and there are a lot more traders who will sell and buy bitcoin at different prices which will slow down the rise unlike last time.

I think if you compare with the previous halving, that the new ath must be 2000+

The price of bitcoin rose about 10 times from Sept 2012 to Sept 2013. So if the price pattern is the same, the price will be $5000 next year.

Why no "not yet" options?

We'll likely to see new ATH but not right after the halving.  It'll take months before the demand increases enough for the price to reach above $1200.  I'll say the price will reach above $1000 in early 2017.

I think the bitcoin price will rise gradually to 2400 in the next 24 months. The slower the rise, the more sustainable the price.

You have loads of confidence in the price, isn't it? Reaching anything over $2000 requires soo much solid buying power, that it will make sure dumps can't eat through the support levels. It will take more than 2 years to come that far.

Sure, that would be best for the bitcoin, slow and steady grow or even stable price with not too much fluctuations, but considering that I have experienced previous halvening, total absence of logic, brute trading, I can say that ATH will happen in a couple of days, not years Cheesy I know that it does have any sense, but that's just bitcoin Cheesy
