What do you think about 95 million dollars on lending offer on a single exchange?

I don't understand what exactly you are saying.. does Poloniex official announced something like that? I don't think a single Exchange can have control of that much BTC..

BTW your link of the Image is not working.

Edit: Ok. I've saw that image. it is still weird and very shocking.

That's exactly the problem, and my link is working perfectly.

Wow. I still have ~1000 btc on total lending offers. Maybe Poloniex decided to loan their cold/hot wallet to its users. There's no guarantee if they cook their books with no fractional reserve here and there.

I'm not sure what to say to this but that an extremely large amount! I don't even know if that was an error or someone holding that much coins accidentally place every bitcoin he has in the lending section of poloniex. Well whatever it is I think this should be a minor issue poloniex should look into. There might be a problem somewhere in the platform.

As some of you can't seem to find anything strange, not even seeing where this amount was being on lending, I enhanced the snapshot.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/858716/bitcoin/105000-BTC-lending.jpg

Hope now everybody can see the problem here.

Please also notice the total amount of Bitcoins available for lending: 3 millions 252 thousands.

Now, this is a screenshot I took right now, actual situation: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/858716/bitcoin/105000%20no.png
Bitcoins vailable for lending: around 900.

It's months that I see something strange going on, and this puts another brick on the wall that makes me suspect they are heavy on insider trading.
I think they play with numbers, have bots in action to lower the interest rates for lending and buying/selling, and I suspect this is the standard most exchanges.
Thanks also to Bitcoin's pseudonimity, these actions would be extremely difficult to prove by any justice official.

Not that I blame them for this too much, as I also think this is helping Bitcoin earn value, otherwise, as there's still too much offer in respect to demand, its value would remain low.

Realy, this big amount? That sound way too much to me. Probably is not connected to only one person, this would be impossible but stil I don't think this sum is real. And are people realy lending and borrowing that much on Poloniex, is that their official data?

I suspect that this is either a glitch or some kind of exploit.

In addition to the fact that it is unlikely that a single person would hold that much BTC on an exchange (which is what the offer suggests as the loan offer is at a single price point), I don't think there have been sufficient blockchain movements that would have been potentially deposited into poloniex, nor sufficient trading activity of some altcoin that would have allowed someone to have that much BTC in their account.

I don't get surprised to see that number because it is collective amount of bitcoin available for loan at rate of 0.005% so it doesn't belongs to one person. And talking about poloniex i am quite sure that they have millions dollar worth of clients bitcoin within exchange which is quite bad practice by traders but they don't have choice other than trusting poloniex security, hope their security is strong enough to make all these customers funds safe.

I am completely confuse about your question 95 millions dollars on lending is given by poloniex are else it given by you, Even in your screen shot every thing not clear to understand the values. Really people who have taken lending from poloniex are they really pay back to poloniex.
