Im bittrex trader, it's not only poloniex , bittrex too, the volume of bittrex rising more , i think after cryptsy scam some trader join at bittrex and poloniex

Poloniex has a huge list of alt coins unlike other trading platform. With all the alt coins in there and with the amount of users that are using these alt coins to trade, they are more likely to use poloniex since poloniex has the widest variety for them to choose from.

Poloniex is probably the most trusted altcoin exchange at this moment with lots of alts and margin trading, of course they have some nice volume.

The offer a somewhat reliable service (no downtimes and no endless waiting for the funds to get in), and the layout it's good.. that's about it. Everything else is just pretty much luck. An exchange is limited to giving you an experience that is as reliable as possible for as long possible, Poloniex seem to be doing this, until it goes Cryptsy, I hope it doesn't.

I thought that when they forced people giving real names to withdraw crypto the exchange would crash because everyone was leaving, but apparently it survived (no one uses their real names anyway).

because other exchanges like coinbase just do bitcoin->fiat.

poloniex does LOADS of altcoins too. so the combined total of all the alts = alot.

that said a few exchanges are known to fabricate their volumes in the past
