WAAAAA, WAAAA, WWAAAAA what a crock of noise. Don't trade on margin, you wont get liquidated. REALLY FUCKING Simple!

Exactly this.
If you are not aware of the risks in altcoin margin trading, do not trade them on margin.
And if you are bashing them and cursing and accusing Poloniex on the trollbox they will ban you as it is rude and will not help anything.

Altcoins and bitcoin also, have been growing fast and it is not that easy to scale up an exchange. People seem to expect them scaling it up to 35 000 users like overnight.  Grin
yes that is right, i think it really require a long long time because it take such a long time to scale a exchange originally, as  it can only be possible when the users of the exchange increase more and more and they can only use an exchange when they get trust and confident over them.

A large monopoly has benefits too - more secure, better/faster trading infrastructure, more features (lending/margin features). It also means the bid/ask gap is much smaller, and I don't have to wait for a long time before my orders get executed. I wouldn't mind a monopoly unless they start raising fees

We need more diverse choice of exchanges. For ERC20 tokens things are easier (and will get even more easier after Bancor protocol gets released on Ethereum), but what about other projects?

There are plenty of exchanges. Both Bittrex and HitBTC have a lot of alts listed that you can trade. Litecoin, ether and doge are on most exchanges, and Kraken does things like Stellar Lumens.

Thete is nothing stopping people using the other exchanges - liquidity will increase as people migrate.

OP is right.

use decentralized exchanges like BitShares DEX, bitsquare or even contract based on ethereum. decentralized exchanges are the future in my opinion.

I've had no issues so far with the trading I've done on poloniex, Bittrex, and GDAX.  I wasn't trading during peak periods when server load may be high however. They seem to process withdraws in a timely manner and I'm careful not to try transferring over their daily limit.

So you think you don't have to care because you got lucky? Ignorance is bliss?
Next time you're maybe not as lucky.

Like Lemmings you all go to a single exchange and centralize trading there and everyone recommends poloniex to everyone else. In the end you have helped build a monopoly (and didn't even have a referal-program for it) and then you cry.

Am i the only one who thinks this behaviour is pathetic? People didn't learn from gox?
