Update: Now they answered me...

"The awaiting approval status is a security measure to allow a security agent to review and approve the transaction manually, this is necessary in some cases depending on how secure your account is.

An agent will attempt to cancel your transaction if possible, in the future please do not withdrawal from your Poloniex account to a timed withdrawal address, you may lose your coins permanently."

Very nice. I just did it and it worked. I could select between "confirm" and "cancel". I canceled and Poloniex says...

"ERROR CANCELING WITHDRAWAL This withdrawal has already begun to process and cannot be canceld."

Thats unbelievable! I have NEVER confirmed this withdrawal !!!  Angry Angry Angry

And/BUT in the WITHDRAWAL HISTORY it still says "Awaiting Approval"...whats this?

Thanks for youre answer! Someone told me that if I click "confirm" on the link in the e-mail...then a browser window would pop up and THEN I could cancel or approv it....but it seems risky to me....

Maybe anybody could confirm this information to me?

Thanks
Flo
I can confirm it because i've made several withdrawals from poloniex. Make sure you click "cancel" instead of approve.

Yes you should confirm first and always look carefully your url link you might log in a phishing site. if your accessing in a right website then you can approve your email address by confirming it

Oh, this actually might be true, I used polo long time ago and recently they updated the confirm mechanism. You need to hear from polo active user (I don't use this exchange lately).

maybe you need to wait more until it cancelled... otherwise it will be a stupid system. their support is slow due to very high load I guess

Hi people,

I’m new to bitcointalk and new to the crypto world and I committed an error on Poloniex. I would like to change my ether for ripple. So, I created a ripple deposit address and posted it to my ether withdraw address. But I DID NOT confirm the transaction in the e-mail which sent me Poloniex. So, the transaction should not have happened. Now I would like to cancel the whole operation…that should be easily possible since I have NOT approved the operation by clicking in the confirmation link in the mail.

But I don’t know how to cancel...I could confirm it but I don’t want to! But how to cancel it? I know Kraken would cancel it automatically one hour after not confirming the link in the e-mail...

https://support.kraken.com/hc/en-us/articles/226943287-Withdrawal-on-hold-or-canceled

I committed this error some 20 hours ago…that means, Poloniex does not cancel it automatically after one our like Kraken does. I have written already to the Poloniex customer service, but they do not answer up until now.

Anybody has an idea what to do? The ether disappeared I my account balance, as if I would have sent them…but I repeat, I have NOT clicked on the confirmation link in the e-mail.

Thank you for your kind help.
Florian
