When are we going to hava a decent exchange which can handle the volume + great selection of coins + a good customer support?
Imagine what happens if a bank does this to one of its clients...

I know right, but unfortunately poloniex and other exchanges just can't give a single damn apparently.

My experience recently has been terrible, but eventually got my withdrawal through. My withdrawal was stuck at awaiting approval for quite some time, before it automatically cancelled itself and refunded the withdrawal back to my account. Then i created a new withdrawal and messaged support, got a response within 2 days and every withdrawal after that is fine.

For anyone interested to know, from my personal experience if you don't have 2fa enabled and you're logging in from a different country, you'll most likely have issues with withdrawal. So don't even bother to withdraw if you are a) unverified b) overseas and c) don't have 2fa on. You'll have your withdrawal stuck. Wait until you get back to your home country before withdrawing if you're travelling overseas as well.

I've zero issues depositing or withdrawing money from Polo.  Never been in a pending state, but I'm L2 verified.

Also always make sure you have 2FA enabled.

I still think, when people having that much money on their site, they should have much better and faster Support. I was so fucking afraid.
About that should have been applied by poloniex, seeing this exchange has been established for a long time and has many users, poloniex already should have active support if they do not want to be considered a scam.

Do you guys realize that it likely takes at least several weeks to train even a small number of support staff in all the possible things that they need to handle?  Not to mention since you are hiring people who are likely going to be interacting with potentially millions of dollars they likely need to be vetted very well to make sure that they don't find a way to just send all your money to some random wallet address.  Unless you are okay with letting just a random person off the street have access to all of your money and do with it what they want?

Having worked in various support organizations for many very large corporations, including a Swiss bank, I can tell you that it likely takes at least a month to fully train someone and likely at least 3-6 months to actually trust them enough to handle money even with full oversight and approval processes.  I have no idea what kind of vetting and training an exchange like Poloniex is doing, but you can't just deduct some cash and buy more "support", let alone ones that are going to understand the nuance of cryptocoin transactions.
Your analysis is correct, but here we are dealing with a site that has long built, should them already have a solid team. If poloniex is a newly built exchange platform I can still understand it but I wonder why until now they still do not have trustworthy employees and teams so as their have active support in some of the social media available.

They likely have built up their team, but the growth of the platform has been massive.  Also there is no guarantee that everyone you train is going to keep working there especially through the hard tireless work and pressure they are likely under due to being short staffed.  We don't get to see the inside of their operation to know how big the team is or how/if it is actually growing to meet demand.  The best thing people can do is verify your accounts and that will likely make such withdrawals that much less unusual.  They have a lot of customers they are trying to protect, not just you.  We don't "pay" for their service unless we use their exchange and yet they have to get it right 100% of the time lest they lose everyone's money.  I'm actually more impressed with GDAX's promise to reverse the stop loss/margin call trades that crashed ETH the other day.  Poloniex never did that for their 2-3 flash crash issues.

Withdrawals without a verified account used to be no problem, used to be automatic. Why would they need to manually approve all transactions? Isn't that why there's a $2000 cap on withdrawals for non-verified accounts? Also, with all the money they make, taking 24 hours is already too much time, let alone 2 or 3 weeks.

How is it the account holder's fault for THEIR unprofessionalism?

It's called money laundering rules.  When you go legit and follow the rules there are a lot more restrictions on what you can allow.

If your WD is Awaiting Approval it is normally your own fault. Not verified, not 2FA, have not traded with the deposited funds, multiple IPS, VPNs etc etc.

It will be processed, just need to be patience. No point spreading FUD Smiley

Do you have verified accounts?  I'm Level 2 verified and all of my withdrawals have been processed very quickly.  This seems like it is likely a problem with a lack of verified identity requiring manual review and a support staff that is extremely overloaded.  I don't really see any indications that there is a systemic problem.

Poloniex says they're expanding their support staff to meet the growth in user base, and we should be able to see the improvements in coming days:
https://poloniex.com/press-releases/2017.06.07-Improving-Our-Support-Capacity/

Specifically they addressed the delayed withdrawal issue and said when anything triggers a suspicion, they review it manually; and naturally, it takes more than expected because of recent growth in number of users.

I searched on twitter "poloniex withdrawal" and i saw hundreds of people have same problem.

Its "Awaiting Approval" for too many days. Support is not working, they dont give my coins back.

Good News.

After I harrased the Mods in the Shoutbox, they pinged the Support and suddenly I got IMMEDIATE answer. Maybe they understood that I am right before killing myself because of losing my just won 400 BTC.

I already was able to withdraw 2 times my withdrawal limit.

After all, thanks Poloniex for making me rich with stupid Pump and Dump Coins.

I still think, when people having that much money on their site, they should have much better and faster Support. I was so fucking afraid.

That's a valid point. I think they just grew too fast. Just 2 months ago, they used to have about 20,000 users online at any given point, but it suddenly surged to about 35,000 users and I don't think they were prepared at all, the engine kept lagging, they kept going offline and they didn't have enough staff. Hopefully they solve all those things.

Glad your stuff got sorted out. In future, spread your trading around several different exchanges - don't keep everything on one exchange, you never know when you might get unlucky.

Dude, I deposited "just" 60 BTCs to Poloniex when BTC was worth 1200 USD per Coin.
That was 75.000 USD, I was prepared to lose them.
Then I looked at STR, thought it could rise in price and invested my Coins into them.

I NEVER expected to have that much money on Poloniex after all, otherwise I would have spread.

New day and new withdrawal. I withdrew my BCY that is a counterparty asset. again for $7000.  Poloniex in past had lots of problems with counterparty asset. Also since counterparty base on Bitcoin blockchain it also share bitcoins mempool problem.

Got my BCY in my wallet only after 1 hour.

Seems lots of FUD just because people have no patience

Yes i also received my litecoins man after 36 hours.

Still pissed me off a bit because nowhere do they say that your withdrawals might be withheld for so long.

There should be a big notice when withdrawing to let users know, so they don't fuck shit up like send the money to a timed wallet and lose everything...
You must give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they were very busy and had no time to notify you about the possible delay, also it could be possible they are investigating most withdrawals to avoid hackers to empty accounts that don’t belong to them.

I thought I was the only one having trouble with withdrawals, but looking at this thread I understand it is a general problem with lot of users.

I made 2 withdrawals within last 7 days, both less than 1 BTC. The first one was "Awaiting Approval" for more than 48 hours, but then eventually it was processed. The 2nd one if also "Awaiting Approval" for more than 24 hours now. I hope it gets cleared soon.

IMPORTANT INFO !!!

While Poloniex changed the rules recently, more or less every user got restrictions on his account.
Mostly withdrawal restrictions, needs approval from someone at Poloniex or like that.
Since then, about a month or more ago, users experience big delays.

If you are in contact with Support, ask about your restrictions. Because as soon as they are lifted, everything goes quick and easy.

By the way, Poloniex Support "responds" in 24h to a ticket, they do not resolve the ticket in that time !!!
Resolving can take much longer eg. 5 days.

cheers

Considering the track records of crypto exchanges it's perfectly understandable to get your knickers in a twist. Best to allow some time for resolution before running around with your undies on your head screaming.

Looks like they have security in place in case you a) log in from VPNs or b) withdraw to an address that you haven't withdrawn to before.

I know someone said they tried to withdraw to their polo deposit address - but if you haven't withdrawn to it before, i think they manually verify things.

Also: make sure you check the entire string when you paste your withdrawal addresses - there was a scam a few months ago where these addresses were being overwritten because people had a virus on their computers.

They have just Approved my litecoin withdrawal after I harassed the mods and told them to escalate my ticket.

Now it's too late to sell the litecoins as the price already reached rock bottom.

Basically lost me a good 30% of all my money.

Nice going Poloniex, nice fucking going. Never using this exchange again.

@Wiid, chill, they will approve it. Don't worry. Apparently they're not exit scamming after all.
Yeah, they're busy being extremely questionable.  They might just be processing withdrawals for small amounts to keep up customer satisfaction and stalling with bigger amounts as much as possible.  They definitely have a big problem anyway, so I'm fleeing to Bittrex.  How much did you withdraw?

51 Litecoins.

I was going to withdraw them to btc-e and sell at higher price (0.0185).

Too fucking late now, I already lost like 30% of their value..

Fuck polo.

Nobody should wait to have their money.

Even more sad is the fact that some people withdraw to timed addreses which require the deposit to be made in max 3-4-5 hours.

So they lose their money.

@Wiid:

Do you have 2factor auth on your account enabled?

Did you, like me, recently change your IP ?

I just enabled 2FA.
And yes, before I withdrawed I logged in with a VPN IP address. I hope this is the reason for that all.

Then this is the issue.

Use 2FA and don't log in with a VPN. They will block your requests... security measure..

Now they'll check your account to make sure nobody hacked into it and is trying to remove 25k usd.

You should keep spamming the moderators politely to escalate your support ticket.

OK exit scam idiots. I just withdrew 224 XMR what is tiny bit less then $7k what is my withdrawal limit.  After 13 minutes was in my wallet.

I really dont get what you planed to do with this beside just make few people worry and even some to do some mistake and withdraw somewhere not safe fast and lose their money.  you two idiots gained nothing by this. I just wish someone would give you negative trust for this.

No, Febo, I am sure their distress is real. But one shouldn't commit suicide. There's no going back! Let death take you unexpectedly. It's probably much more fun that way. Who thinks a comedian is funny when you know what he is going to say? Who thinks a movie is near as fun to watch when you know what is going to happen next? Dead is dead. Don't do it.

Instead, we shall band together and give the BolongaEx change "what for"!!

I've been trying to get my 466666 FLDC deposit to show up in my Poloniex account for over 2 days. Support is presently not answering people (me), no matter how BIG my TANTRUMS have gotten.

People are waiting since 3 days for their Bitcoins.

My own withdrawal is "Avaiting Approval" since 17 hrs, NEVER EVER HAPPENED BEFORE and I have big acount history.
Mods in the shoutbox saying that it take up to 24 hrs, but there are many people claiming they wait longer.

ANYONE getting a bigger withdrawal through the last 24hrs?
Poloniex suffering right now from DDOS attack as they mentioned out but i think the problem not like that , it is always happen when some coins hyped more than 100 % so the delay equal profit for them which is bad manner . i hope we have an equal competitor soon .

@Wiid:

Do you have 2factor auth on your account enabled?

Did you, like me, recently change your IP ?

I just enabled 2FA.
And yes, before I withdrawed I logged in with a VPN IP address. I hope this is the reason for that all.

I did not, my litecoins have been stuck in "Awaiting Approval" for over 35 hours now.

Two support tickets no reply.
I had no problem withdrawing LTC from Poloniex or maybe this problem is limited to BTC withdrawals only. I haven't tried withdrawing my BTC funds in Poloniex yet just ETH and LTC. Made my transfer from Poloniex to Hashnest to buy hash in L3. So far no problem encountered, no delays or whatsoever.

I am still waiting for my coins to be withdrawn, still "awaiting approval" since 36 hours.
I am banned in the Trollbox, cannot write anything since 13 hours.
All of my Support Tickets were closed with no answer or solution, just one is still open.

I just wrote them that I will commit suicide and tell everyone that it is their fault if they do not answer me now.

I have ~700.000 USD in my account.

Are you sure that you got your withdrawal address correct? there was a scam going where people had downloaded a virus that was amending the address they were copying.

If your withdrawal address is correct (check the whole string), then raise a ticket and they'll sort it withon 24 hours.

How much bitcoin did you transfer ?

Was it over 1 BTC?

No less than that.

Perhaps break up your withdrawals into smaller units, so that it automatically processes

It is perhaps too late for that....

I am getting banned in the Shoutbox for asking where my money is.
My withdrawal was awaiting approval for 22hrs, then suddenly disappeared. Then I got my money back into my account.
Withdrawed them again, AGAIN AWAITING APPROVAL.

I withdrawed 25k USD before, NO AWAITING APPROVAL back then.
I have 400 BTC in my account.

Let's all just calm the fuck down.

It will all be fine.

There is a run on Polo.  Did you get yours out?

There is a run on Polo.  Did you get yours out?

Cut the FUD you brat.

So you run the world's biggest exchange.

Do you

A - Run with everyone's money and spend the rest of your life on the run and probably unable to spend the coins.

B - Continue to coin it forever and undergo regular Ddosing because you're such a juicy target?

I think it could well be a B.

Here's some stats.

2015 ~$90,000/24hrs - ~800 users online
2016 ~$7,000,000/24hrs - ~4k users online
Yesterday > $1,000,000,000/24hrs - ~40k users online

Most services are going to buckle with such an explosion.

Mt Gox was the largest at the time.  What did they do?

Crypsy had the highest volume of all before they 404'd.

Exchanges that get buggy make me nervous.  I have good reason to be.

So why is support taking so long to respond ? 5 days? 8 days? People's money are being held hostage on the exchange?
I hope you're right man, I really do....

I'm not sure but I think it's safe to assume that no exchange ever seems to invest in enough staff. The staff that are there must be under insane pressure.

Exit scam or no exit scam I still don't think it's OK that they hold our coins hostage for days and days.

Some people need this money , like for real.

And before you call someone an idiot try and have a little respect, good thing you managed to take our your money... others were not so lucky  Cry

Can anyone confirm being able to take out over 1 BTC from Polo in the last 24 hours?

Everywhere people waiting, no one is getting his money.

I will commit suicide if Poloniex stole my money, I swear.

People are telling me they managed to withdraw money..

Just calm down i'm sure this will all be ok :/

Tried to withdraw 0.03 BTCs from my account, also got locked.
Trollbox is 30% "where is my money" "deposit not arriving" "withdrawal approving"

And you are sure this will all be ok??

Ok now that is strange.

Are you withdrawing to the same address as previously, or is this a new address ( I ask because i think they whitelist previous addresses as OK and problem free in their algos).

I withdrawed to my Poloniex-Deposit-Address.
I did this just to verify or falsify the thing that you told me. So NO whitelist at all, they are blocking ALL withdrawals atm.

So they blocked your transfer to the Polo address ?

It doesn't make any god damn sense for them to be locking some withdrawals but letting in other if they were going to exit scam this shit.

I dont see almost anyone telling that cant withdraw in troll box.

I've seen a few. Mods are preaching patience so there evidently is something going on for some people. Deposits too.

I think there's something a bit screwy with the site in general. My price ticker has been frozen for several minutes despite the market listings moving fine.

Nothing is worth commiting suicide over! If they have stolen your money, then simply lawyer up and sue them, so much more satisfying!

I think what is happening is that withdrawals below 1btc are going through automatically but anything higher than that need manual approval and there is a backlog. If your funds are returned to your account, try withdrawing an amount less than 1 bitcoin, and see if that goes through.

I have also withdrawn 0.16 litecoins from my account, also got locked.

My transaction is 25k USD.
I have more than 600k USD on my account.
This never happened before. Had some bigger withdrawals before, never ever a problem.

I am 100% sure my fucking money is gone.
After you voice these amounts, I'm just in shock. If you take the example of something based on the fact that I need good incomes, so I rush into all the hard in order to earn at least a few coins and therefore go even on dubious projects. But when you have such money, which should be more carefully selected and checked by those with whom you are dealing.

Alas Poloniex is as of yet still minor exchange that cant move the price too much in either direction.
Poloniex is a huge exchange.  They're the biggest altcoin exchange by far with hundreds of millions of dollars in trading volume every day.

Personally I received a small withdrawal (about 0.035) recently after ~3 hours.  It is unusual to see any delays and complaints though, and I won't be one of those people that ignores other people and pretends that problems are just FUD because that's exactly what happened when other exchanges went to shit as well.

Poloniex isn't looking really bad yet and it's not worth taking out all of your coins, but it is looking a tad shady.  Too much USDT being traded as well.

Now the following happened:
After 22 hours, my withdrawal was not there in my withdrawal history anymore. It was just deleted.
Few minutes later the BTCs popped up in my Exchange-Balance again.
Really sad to hear this story,i am seeing more complaints in the troll box in Polo,i did have a problem a couple of days back when i deposited some alts as i could not see my deposit even after the blockchain confirmed and i had to wait for their support to help me register that in my account and i am really lucky that i could withdraw all my coins after that delay and because i was seeing more complaint about the delay and there was any official statement from the site about any issues.I would wait until these issues are resolved before investing something.

Any official info from Poloniex since your post? I am interested where this goes. Alas Poloniex is as of yet still minor exchange that cant move the price too much in either direction.

Wish you all the best, keep us informed.

This is FUD. Poloniex is working as usual. They had a DDOS attack last night. Kraken affected too. This caused people to panic sell, so a lot of people lost their position on solid altcoins like Litecoin or Ethereum. Some people was really mad, specially the ones that were holding STR, and said they would lawsuit them.

Im happy because my buy orders for cheap LTC and cheap ETH got filled, and now im holding some at a great discount before LTC goes to ATH. Thank you Poloniex.

I initiated a withdrawal approximately fifteen minutes ago. It's now relaxing in my wallet. I am somewhat surprised myself.

I also think it has to do with the ddos attack last week since most if not all websites a still reeling from that incident so just a bit of advice is all you can do is hang tight for now.
Well it's what those sites are telling all their customers to do anyways. Undecided

I withdrew some bitcoins today from polo and had no problems.

Are you sure that you got your withdrawal address correct? there was a scam going where people had downloaded a virus that was amending the address they were copying.

If your withdrawal address is correct (check the whole string), then raise a ticket and they'll sort it withon 24 hours.

I had the last btc withdrawal at 5th may.
I had a transaction id in my withdrawal history, but it was not shown at any block explorer.
It took ~20 hours and then it was shown.

Tether withdrawal works without problems.
