Thanks for the help Mayday30
I switched from xmr stak to xmrig and my hash seems to be almost 2x larger on both cpus that I'm using. But within 24 hours of mining the profits look to be almost identical, making it just a few cents profit above the KW usage. I wonder what CPUs people are using to actually make any profit with xmr mining(or any other coin on cpu in general).

I switched on algo rx/0 but I don't know if there is any indication in the console if it's actually working. Let's see how it goes a month later.

Hmm... Are there any other reasons the payout sum isn't updating?

Payout or total due? Payout only updated if you reach 0.3 XMR total due by default.

Yes I meant Total due, well I guess I'll just wait a little longer.

when does the moneroocean.stream dashboard updates the total due sum after you start mining? few hours so far and shows nothing, address and pools seem correct. dashboard shows my worker.

After first block you participated in is matured. Couple of hours usually.

You can mine GPU coins like ETH, RVN or XWP on our pool (+ setup auto profit switcher) and get paid in XMR like usual. Check our blog to see how it can be done: https://moneroocean.blogspot.com.

Also now you can check your payment share for each paid block in miner options (and if you need even more details you can download cvs archive with full block share distribution by clicking on the block hash link):

You must update your miners March 9 Monero fork. xmrig based miners must be updated to v2.13+. xmr-stak must be v2.9.0+ and must use monero algo now (and cryptonight_r algo after fork). xmrig-node-proxy must be v0.8.1+ (https://github.com/MoneroOcean/xmr-node-proxy).

PSA:

Please start updating your miners for upcoming March 9 Monero fork. xmrig based miners should be updated to v2.13+. xmrig-node-proxy should be updated to v0.8.1+ (https://github.com/MoneroOcean/xmr-node-proxy). After March 9 old miners and proxy software will be banned from mining on our pool!

Nice pool.  Switched to MoneroOcean from HashVault.... so far so good, but payout is little expensive! Smiley
Have to give something for 0 fees Smiley Having it this way gives you more flexibility in determining how much money you want to leave to the pool Smiley The larger your payment threshold the less you tx fee you pay. For 4 XMR tx fee is 0.

What are the plans for the upcoming xmr fork xmr will be cn8 and the others will be cn7
Simple miners (one algorithm miners that can't algo switch, like xmr-stak) will be on cn/2 algo mining Monero. Others like xmrig (and/or patched xmrig from https://github.com/MoneroOcean/xmrig and https://github.com/MoneroOcean/xmrig-amd) and srbminer (or simple miners with help of mm.js from https://github.com/MoneroOcean/meta-miner/) will mine full specter of supported coins/algos as usual.

We are still alive and kicking! Still zero fees and I intend to keep for a while that since pool costs are completely covered from tx fee deltas. As major news, to improve your profitability we added automatic multi coin/algo mining with payments still in XMR (by automatically trading these coins to XMR). Check pool FAQ (https://moneroocean.stream/#/help/faq) or our Discord server (https://discord.gg/2YZR4A) for more info.

last found block 3 day ago Huh
is it real ?
Yeah, it is real. Last XMR block was found 3 days ago since it is more profitable to mine other stuff and trade for XMR.

Update: Pool now allows automatic switching between the following coins to mine the most profitable one: XMR (Monero), ETN (Electroneum) GRFT (Graft), MSR (Masari), ITNS (Intense coin), WOW (Wonero), XMV (MoneroV). All miner payments are still in XMR using current exchange conversion prices.

What is the stratum address?

I tried adding in the following:
- gulf.moneroocean.stream:10001
- stratum+tcp://gulf.moneroocean.stream:10001

Neither of these pool URL works in my miner... I think it is expecting stratum protocol and getting something else?

Thanks for help Smiley
That is your miner? And how exactly it does not work?

BTW For xmr stak you should use cryptonight_v7 instead of usual monero7 algo and for Cast XMR you should add --algo 1 option.

May I know what fees take effect when mining?
Exchange, pool fee, withdrawal fee, transfer fee???

Is it possible to mine without fees?
Thanks!
Still 0 pool fee. Exchange adds 0.68% conversion fee. Tx fee starts from 0.004 XMR for 0.03 XMR payment and linearly goes down to 0 for 4 XMR payment. Better see https://moneroocean.stream/profits/ page for live profit comparisons between top Monero pools.

sweet! Youre the only pool owner that have done this so far. To add, here is the list of calculator that i use: http://minecryptonight.net , https://www.cryptunit.com/?order=price24
Thanks for links! However I have to use raw data from daemons because I found that these calculators has unacceptable lag to be used for coins like SUMO there situation with difficulty changes very fast.

Pool was modified to mine the most profitable cryptonote coin (from XMR, ETN and SUMO list). Payouts are still in XMR.

I see you pulled the us.moneroocean.stream  from available ports
Also email to your [email protected] just bounced back.
Please update.

Restored US leaf node half an hour ago. Not sure what happened to it (will see logs later today). In future instead of us.moneroocean.stream stratum I recommend to use gulf.moneroocean.stream so you will not be affected by more than one minute downtime because you will automatically switched to other alive stratum servers.

hi i can see you are  using snippa code for monero pool but i can't see the login button is there .. as per snippa code there is login button on it .why have you disabled it ??
Sorry for late reply. New to this forum and missed (or not configured) thread notifications.

Yes, I'm using Snipa's code both for pool backend as well as Web frontend is initially based on frontend used by his pool. Based on my and other people experience using Snipa's pool I decided to move login button to dashboard (it is called Options now) under your mining stats (after you enter your wallet address and start mining to it). This way you do not have to enter your payment address during login process and I hope to mitigate new miner first questions like "How I can login to site?".

Also there are numerous other Web frontend improvements aimed to improve first user experience (including mobile user experience).

Two updates:

1) Added https://twitter.com/MoneroOcean pool twitter account with automatic updates about new blocks and payments (and other pool news).

2) Added option to mine using web miner directly from the pool web page dashboard (with 3% fee collected by https://webminerpool.com/ engine) by simply pressing the button. Web miner can be also activated using direct link for your address: https://moneroocean.stream/#/dashboard?addr=44AFFq5kSiGBoZ4NMDwYtN18obc8AemS33DBLWs3H7otXft3XjrpDtQGv7SqSsaBYBb98uNbr2VBBEt7f2wfn3RVGQBEP3A&web_miner

Greetings!

Let me introduce a relatively new global Monero PPLNS mining pool: https://moneroocean.stream

This pool have the following major features:

  • simplified web interface to streamline first user mining experience including automated CPU miner deployment on your Windows and Linux systems;
  • automatic scaling backend powered by xmr-node-proxy that allows to offer minimum pool difficulty as low as 100.

As far as I'm aware automatic scaling backend is a new thing amongst other pool so I would like to describe it in more details since I think it is really a great thing. If you have a large amount of miners, pool backend will create xmr-node-proxy on separate server instance for you on the fly. All you notice is miner re-connection to the pool (for the first time when pool backend will reroute all your miner traffic via newly created xmr-node-proxy) and all your miners merged under single "proxy" miner on pool website dashboard. This will happen only if you really have a large amount of miners (around 100) so tracking their individual stats usually no longer make sense. If you still want to retain a finer grain control on your miners, you can still use our own proxy as before with other pools.

So why it is great thing? It is great thing for you if you are a big miner and do not want or know how to setup your own xmr-node-proxy. It is also great thing for the pool since it can distribute CPU load from pool nodes between separate xmr-node-proxy servers. If you are small miner it is great for you too because you can benefit from low minimum pool difficulty (100) and rely on the fact that spike loads that can be caused by botnets will be quickly and automatically localized in separate xmr-node-proxy proxy servers and will not affect you hopefully.

Of course, all this is great on paper but can break in all various places despite the fact that I think the code is well tested  Smiley

Other minor features worth noting include:

  • automatic latency based load balancer between Geo distributed pools nodes in Germany (Frankfurt), USA (Fremont, CA) and Japan (Tokyo): just point your miners to gulf.moneroocean.stream;
  • open 80 and 443 ports for mining;
  • simplified access to support on shared #monero-pools IRC channel (just click top right icon on the pool web page and change your nick from monerooceanNN generic one to your own one).

The pool was around for some time and was used for some closed club Monero mining while its infrastructure and interface were polished until I was more or less confident it is ready for general public usage and no major downtimes are planned. As a bonus and compensation for any unexpected issues on pool’s side for early miners, the pool have zero fees and this will not change until it will reach 5MH/s of sustainable hash rate (if it will ever happens of course). After that I am planning to add low 0.5% pool fee (shared with pool software developer and Monero core development team).

To manually setup miner to use this pool please use parameters as follows:

  • Pool address: gulf.moneroocean.stream:10001 (instead of 10001 it is recommended to select port based on your miner hashrate from the port list list)
  • User name: your monero wallet
  • Password: any miner name or any miner name:email for notifications>
  • Important: For xmr stak you should use cryptonight_v7 instead of usual monero7 algo and for Cast XMR you should add --algo 1 option

Got questions, suggestions or comments? Ask here or feel free to explore pool’s FAQ and write me to email found in it.
