Actually, I'm at 15 khash/s which is about 4% of the entire network. But yea, I think I'm basically playing a lottery by myself. It will be hard to convince people to switch over because two of the major pools also have 0% fee, and they have the user-friendly setup to edit their account and see stats. Of course, that will change when your setup becomes a multipool! Thanks for checking.

Oh it's nice to know there are other feeless pools out there! Do they have withdrawal fees or did they eliminate those too? That would be prey cool. And congrats on having such a high proportion of the net hash lol

Yeah NOMP's web interface is pretty slim about the info it provides.mood is much more informative but I think NOMP provides better performance.

That reminds me the website is undergoing some maintenance so to anyone who visits: uhm, don't? Lol I'll get it back to normal but it's not a priority since it doesn't affect stratum functionality and I'm working on a dedicated server anyway which will replace it.

Good luck beave, consider donating if you do find a block and don't sweat the troll, the moderator will handle him same as the last one.

Thank you moderator!

My apologies... I have a lot of adolescent fans!

I plan to donate a lot in the future--hopefully, through the bounty! I'm so optimistic about what you are doing. Thank you so much! I have used yac.m-s-t.org. There is a 0.01 YAC fee for a manual withdrawal lol Some people might like not having to setup an account though? I'm not sure, but I will leave some hashing power on your pool for a while and see what happens. Thanks again.

I'm up on it now. Yes shares were being accepted. I mean it could just be that I had bad luck and little hashpower. Let me know if you see any issues now. Thank so much!

With just a few hundred khs, I don't think you're very likely to find a block. Unless others join the pool, your effectively solo mining. My pool will remain open indefinitely but you may find it more profitable to join a pool where some other miners are contributing Mhs. Or get them to join my pool which charges yac miners no fees at all and is basically free Smiley

nino, I was on your yacoin pool for a few hours with 30 khash/s (before the NFactor change) and didn't find a single block. Is there an issue, like maintenance, or was I just very unlucky? I can try again with more hashpower later, but I just figured I would ask just in case. Thanks again.

The target diff was set to 2 and the Max is 16, which iirc is correct but I've lowered the target and minimum  Difficulty to 1 and enabled detailed logging to check accepted shares. If you'd be so kind as to go at it again for a few minutes when you have the chance, I can verify whether it's bad luck or a server problem.  5 minutes should be plenty.

Did you see shares being accepted? Also make sure you were on 6666 or 6667. I know you almost certainly were but I wanted to make sure and mention that.

Thanks for letting me know there might be a problem!

Yup this is the right one Smiley

Thanks a lot, nino. I think the way wafflepool does it is ideal as you don't want to screw people who have small mining setups--weekly for them is good imo. Is it currently 1 YAC? I guess I'll be getting paid out the block reward value since I'm the only one on there ;p

Lol weekly like payroll! You guys are welcome to mine there at no fee while I finish up with other work Smiley I'll bump the pay threshold up to 1000 when I get a chance. 100 on Sundays lol

To address the payout issue, I don't think there is a need to reinvent the wheel. Here is a FAQ from wafflepool:

When am I paid?
Payouts are processed multiple times a day, and anyone with a balance over 0.005 BTC is automatically paid in order of when you reached the threshold. On Sundays we pay everyone with a balance over 0.0005.

I vote make it 1000 YAC and anyone with more than 100 YAC on Sunday (or whatever weekday you choose).

Are people having problems connecting to the pool? I mean just as another YACoin pool, it should be working now right? I see zero hashrate on all the coins. I won't be able to connect my miners until tonight.

Have you been in contact with fredeq too? He has the best mining profitability calculator for the various algos ( www.whattomine.com https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/whattomine-profitability-website-with-basic-json-567730 ) . I figure you may need to coordinate with someone like him, and how he has it setup. Plus, I would think ThirtyBird or fredeq would like to be co-operators.

I'll add a poll for minimum payout but honestly at this point it's really about modifying miners to be able to accept commands to change algos. I've been in touch with devs and it's not that it can't be done so much as no one has made it a priority. As for me, I've partnered up with someone to bring a dedicated server online with MPOS frontend and NOMP stratum, so I've had to really focus on that. I'll be back to work on the YAC multipool as soon as I possibly can.

Apologies for the delayed update, I've been meaning to get back and keep everyone posted. Thanks for messaging me, Beave Cheesy (Is this the thread you meant? lol)

I'll have to look into this multi pool later as I'm on vacation. I don't think you are understanding the intriquisies of switching between cions of different algorithms. I think a 750 ti is pretty good at being most profitable with x11 or nf14 chacha, but we need someone to help you test. I think you need to contact ThirtyBird, and ask him if he knows how to help make that happen. Perhaps he could modify yacminer to fit the needs of your multipool.

The original bounty was for payout in YAC ONLY. It wasn't for YAC or any other coin someone may choose... I can talk to the others who contributed to rhw bounty. I wouldn't want you to get nothing. I hope you understand the intent of the bounty to promote YAC hardcore in addition to being an advanced form of a multipool.

Yes, it does look like miners will have to support algo-switching to take advantage of this new capability in the pool. I'll look up ThirtyBird and try to reach him. I've started going over the code in sgminer and others to see how difficult it will be.

I definitely didn't grasp what you guys were after to start with and I wasn't meeting the request by any stretch of the imagination, but I do understand now and I'm happy to accomodate and I'm working on it! If you want a pool that pays out *exclusively* in YAC, then I can arrange that as well. The same changes have to be implemented either way and the altcoin ecosystem is getting more crowded every day, meaning that even a good coin needs all the leverage it can get.

That being said, for now the pool remains open to everyone and pays out in the currency that was mined. Because that's all it can do! Cheesy Miners not interested in being paid in YAC will receive their full earnings before the changeover. But might consider, you know, the merits of being paid in YAC. Cheesy

We are on the same page now! The Bitminter Java app is able to detect hardware. Another way could be to let the user choose from a list of gpus/cpus or perhaps enter certain information (shaders, VRAM, etc). Cudaminer has an 'auto-tune' function that could also somehow be implemented. ThirtyBird was working on an auto-tune, but I think he has been occupied lately. He is definitely the one to talk to. All I know is that these things are much easier said than done ha, and it will be a BIG deal when complete.

I'm hoping the payout in YAC will appeal to you personally in other ways. You would have a sizable portion just from the bounty and imagine if the price skyrockets from the interest this multipool would garner. And perhaps there will be some more contributions to the bounty.

Thanks so much for your efforts, nino.

I'm excited to see this.  But I think a couple of things may need to be upgraded/changed.

1) Under the 'getting started' page, it says to download the 'NOMP App,' but when I click it, it says the app is still in development???

2) I know you mentioned that there isn't a need to make an account in order to log on to begin mining, but how frequent are the payouts?  I usually have my automatic YAC payout at 500-5000, so I don't have thousands of 1 YAC transactions (which gets heavy on fees and his most difficult to mint POS).

3) The multipools I've seen before allowed the user to pump in SHA/scrypt hashpower and get out the coin of their choice.  I'm thinking like scryptguild or multipool, where it converts to the coin of your choose.  (I might be wrong but) I think that's what the community was looking for.  The ability to the 'most profitable coin' and have it converted, and be payed in, YACoin.

1) I removed this since the app is, well, in development and leaving the option there is a bit of a red herring. Thanks for pointing out that it's a nuisance Cheesy

2) I can adjust payouts per currency but I've kept them low a) to reduce the amount of trust someone needs to put in a new pool and b) because some miners really can't reach standard thresholds. I am more than willing to change the minimums with a community consensus, just let me know what you guys want Smiley I'll just enable manual payouts with no minimum (above network fees).

3) I'm enabling automatic switching based on coin profitability and if I could get some community feedback, that would be awesome. Tell me what coins you want to mine and I'll start them right up. I'm on several exchanges but atm I'm tinkering with code and configuration so I can't, right this second, just go pick them out. I invite you to do that and will add any requested coin.

Look, I made big letters. *edit: Look, I DIDN'T make big letters. What is the size tag broken or does it just hate my link?

High-performance NOMP pool
  • No registration, workers connect with address as worker name
  • No withdrawal fees
  • Strictly autopay on block find
  • Vardiff
  • Coin support added on request if possible
  • New coins will be supported at launch if possible (e.g., Kryptonite)
  • Operator available on #brookspool
  • Seeking co-operator and on-demand support, .5%

I'm on freenode as sBrooks (or dcookie), always in #brookspool #nomp and #mpos. Please include experience and/or relevant tech skills if inquiring about the Co-op/support position.

Any questions?

*edit:
Autopayout threshold may be adjusted for some coins so that you're not losing a large percentage to coin-native transaction fees
