I'm thinking of moving my miners into the closet.

It can get quite awkward when your rigs decide to "come out of the closet".

Nice venting, this works better than my wall mounted blower since you get to utilise natural behavior of hot air rising upwards. Clean looking job.

Thanks

Is it just venting into your attic? You may want to add another fan to vent it all out of the attic. But, nice job!  Grin

The attic is well vented so no need to an attic fan, and the fan should help cool it off as well.

Na, it'll vent out on its own.  In fact, it'll probably be cooler up in his attic since he'll actually have air flowing through it back outside.  If you've been in a fanless attic in the heat of summer, you'll know what I mean...

hahaha and next thing cops turn up after seeing a hot attic with there thermal imaging on the helicopters XD
When was the last time you've been to an attic? In the summer, they're always way warmer than the rest of your house OR the outside temp.

Nice work. Attic fans like these are fairly common in warmer climates. They work well and are cheaper than central a/c.

It's 11C outside here today, and the room my miners are in was 29C this morning, with the windows open.  I must do something similar...  Undecided

Nice work! Just grab a carpenter friend and make sure you're not violating any building or fire codes.

As far as the cooling goes, it's a great idea. Fans are great for 2 things: Moving cold air towards the GPUs, or moving the hot air away from the GPUs. A ceiling mounted fan really doesn't do either, it just stirs the hot air in circles.

Where I live it hit 94 Fahrenheit (34 C) with no wind.  My miners were over heating, and the room they are in, our spare bedroom, was unbearably hot.  There is a ceiling fan in the room, but it did virtually nothing.  In the closet of that same room is the hatch to our attic.  So I decided to mount a cheap box fan on a piece of plywood to vent the hot air into our attic.  It works amazingly well.  All I need to do is keep the window open.  I also built a door, so that I can turn off the fan and close off the attic hatch.  I used a couple Tee hinges, barrel bolts, a piece of ply wood, and foam insulation.  I'm thinking of moving my miners into the closet.
