It has nothing to do with a partnership though. They paid Pornhub to add them as a payment method. People that are buying porn are not going to exchange their fiat to bitcoin and then exchange the bitcoin for verge. And oh crap they didnt buy enough to pay for fees, so they have to repurchase a small amount. It doesnt work right now, and it certainly wont with verge.

I found it a little hilarious that Verge even paid pornhub to become their partner. It's 2018 and nobody pays porn just to watch or even get a premium account. You can even freely browse it. Even if pornhub is really famous in that kind of industry, I doubt if it even has an effect on verge's market demand.

It is a bad move. Price was manipulated by high expectations when they describe new partner like "This partner owns one of the largest payment processors on the internet", but it's only service which will/ can accept XVG without various processing or verge integration to ecommerce.

but it think it's not so bad, at least they accept payment using Verge right?
if indeed such demand that over verge will increase and will also affect its later with VRG prices in the market

The "partnership" wasnt really a partnership. So obviously it will have a bad effect on the price.

I agree with this point of view. Partnerships only work if there is a fit. Privacy coins are perfectly suited for these types of sites and potentially can help them to convert nonpaying customers to paying customers who need to ensure that their identity is protected.

Although Verge has a large partner in the adult industry, its price has diminished considerably. This is a really bad collaboration for Verge though it brings quite a lot of profit for Verge.
Nonetheless, Verge's prices will rise sharply in the future and they will need time to make things perfect again.

Someone around the world is still paying for the vip product. Although morally to may be offensive for some at the end of the day, it is a positive business decision and further head in the direction of mainstream adopting crypto.

The bigger problem is that no one paying right now is going to ditch their visa method when it is so hard to use verge. You need to buy bitcoin, which could take weeks if you use a site like Coinbase. You will need to pay fees, and then exchange the coins on an exchange like Bittrex which has fees. Then you need to transfer the coins to the ph address. Lets also hope that you bought enough bitcoin/ethereum to actually facilitate the trade. Its a pain. Cryptocurrency is not as easy right now, so it wont be used. Plus what is stopping ph from accepting bitcoin or ethereum directly?

Market 80% of the time buys the rumor and sells the news. Do not co-relate with the current dump to not-so-happy investors. We will only know the true sentiment after a while. In my opinion any payment adoption by any industry (Btw, Porn is $100 billion industry by 2020) is good for crypto. Should not FUD simply because you hate a particular coin. I don't really get why this news caused a dump or whatever is going on with verge to think of entering a "deal" with adult sites. (I rather use the word deal since partnership is a little skeptical) Although, it is a fact that adult sites are one of the most visited site of all and using cryptocurrency to purchase or conduct an anonymous transactions, that, itself is genius. I love when people say "partnership". Looks like Verge just paid millions to a company to accept it as a payment, and we dont have a document of the partnership so know knows if more crypto can be accepted. PH likely dumped their free money. 50-year-old men who pay to watch it, arent going to think " fuck it, I wont use my visa that has been working. I will use this crypto that I cant buy directly and have to exchange it. Oh yeah and verge isnt very private so I am getting the same coverage".
