Bitparking bitcoin merged mining pool is pretty cool.

You're mining. Bitcoins / Devcoin / Ixcoin & Namecoin at the same time.

DGM for bitcoins and PPS for the other coins.

Ah, thanks I didn't realize that devcoin could be merge mined.  That explains the difficulty and low price (profitability).

You can mine YaCoin with the CPU while you mine LiteCoin with the GPU. Make sure you monitor case temperature. Grin

There are so many new altcoins, it is hard to find anything with any real innovation or value, besides an initial hype (pump) and dump, but I want to diversify a bit.

Look into DEVCOIN!!!! The Development Coin. TONS of Innovation.
It supports writers, artists, photographers, programmers & more.

I looked......and as a miner I see no value.  If someone is inclined to write or produce art or something like that, then they can get some devcoin.  I don't see anyone making much worth their while, anytime soon though.

Well that's what I'm going to mine and trade for other coins Smiley

Maybe it has value or can become valuable, but it seems to me that mining this right now is very bad.  Perhaps buying it would be a good investment since the price is so low.

Edit:  going by the link above it is the worst alt listed for miners.

I mined Bitcoin for a couple years and I currently mine litecoin, but I am currently looking at PpCoin. There are so many new altcoins, it is hard to find anything with any real innovation or value, besides an initial hype (pump) and dump, but I want to diversify a bit.

I haven't started messing with this, I have to tear apart my main computer to add my last gpu, which will be the one that I am going to use for ppcoin.  It is a water cooled 5870.  I will probably put it off until the weekend.  I will post back with any issues or the results.

I have a couple machines mining litecoin.  Is there an easy way to set one gpu in a machine to mine a different altcoin?  I know that I could always buy or exchange for the different coin, but I would like to support alts that seem good, without decreasing my profits too much.

Thanks for any replies.

Are you mining LTC with the GPU or with the CPU?
If so, you can mine one alt in each.

There are also pools that support multiple alt at the same time.
Slush for example mines btc+nmc

You should also use --remove-disabled option to remove the other devices from CGMiner's knowledge, so that there won't be any conflicts between CGMiner instances.

I have mined both Terracoin and Litecoin with the same machine with two CGMiner instances.

You can run separate instances of cgminer with different configurations. Use the -d option (or "device" if using a config file) to specify which GPUs to use for that instance.
