What you just said is 1) "Expectation of growing market", it grow faster then the others. Expexctations are volatile, is there is more stable reasons to grow ? What about other reasons I told ?

There's a lot of 'hot' money all over the world, much of it coming from central banks who can create it from thin air, which is looking for somewhere to go.

Now let's say you're an investor who is looking for a return for your money. Here are your options:

1. You can leave it in the bank but real inflation will outpace the interest you are paid so your money will lose its purchasing power over time.

2. You can buy property but most mature markets are at all-time highs and not looking likely to sustain their growth rates (Most of the UK, Canada, many cities in the USA, Australia, European cities such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris etc). You can take risks and enter immature markets in Africa etc but this won't be suitable for most investors.

3. You can invest in precious metals but they have gone nowhere for the last 6 years.

4. You can invest in stock markets but they are at all-time highs based only on Govt. intervention rather than fundamentals, and further interest rate rises could lead to huge losses.

Bitcoin and other Cryptos are starting to creep into mainstream news and we'll soon approach a point where millionaires and billionaires around the world will sit up and take notice.

If you even $1m USD available to you right now then how much would you put into bitcoin?

And then imagine how many people around the world have significantly more than that to invest. And then imagine if some forward-thinking Govt. decided to spend a few billion on diversifying into cryptos?

We are only talking about a handful of coins here as I doubt the hot money will start chasing after shitty ICOs but the effect could be massive if rich people and investors started panic buying.

Hi,

I am looking for professional opinions of possible reasons of (continued) growth of liquid crypto-currencies
WHY THE HECK ARE THEY COST THAT MUCH ?

1) "Expectation of growing market" in general mean pretty much nothing to me. Like Nation-wide markets (like Japan) are opening to crypto ?
2) VCs coming to play and buying in ? https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2017/07/12/crypto-boom-15-new-hedge-funds-want-in-on-84000-returns/#33c62fa3416a
3) Chinese fiat-investors don't trust Chinese economy and try to get out of it, but Chinese government doesn't allow Yuan to be invested in cross-border stocks or Forex ? So they go crypto ?
3) Chinese crypto-farms are the biggest so they need to crypto-invest ?
4) Speculators like high volatility They buy-in (incl fiat) ICO just for pump&dump and They dont care about company future
5) Unqualified investors with a lot of ETH/BTC funds ? They don't do due diligence,  newcomers start offering broad brush evaluations without having had the benefit of direct investment experience that includes lessons learned from having made good and bad decisions.

What else ? What's the approx. % influence of each factor ?
