Not in this case. BTC/BCH addresses are the same, as BCH is a Bitcoin fork. You can actually use the same address to receive and spend both coins.

recently they added a new format for bitcoin cash addresses to prevent this, although the old address format which is shared with bitcoin will always be usable and the issues will persist.
the new format looks weird too!
Code:
bitcoincash:qpm2qsznhks23z7629mms6s4cwef74vcwvy22gdx6a

the word "bitcoincash:" is a part of the address format!

Vaccinized.. immunity level is full.
You can check balance on both block explorers. Check if there are any Bitcoins stored on that address here https://blockchain.info/ and check for Bitcoin Cash coins here https://bitcoincash.blockexplorer.com/

given a wallet address. is it possible to find out which coin/altcoin it is?
Possibly. If you know the format which the coin uses.

for example if give you a wallet address, is it possible to figure out whether its a Bcash or bitcoin address or neither?
