You need to account those costs on the cloud and the return of staking so instead of any return you are actually just paying for nothing

What about VPS? Buy some piece of cloud VPS and POS. But you must to choice right service for VPS.
And second way - Raspberry PI or same. Many of this support OS and local wallets

Get the cheapest and oldest laptop you can imo. It beats all centralized staking services plus the battery acts as a UPS.

with the raise of POS coins I'm wondering if it's possible to have a wallet online and staking 24/7 but running on a server or something like that, so I don't have to keep my computer on all the time.
