How are you guys finding these 1600w PSUs in stock?  I had to go with dual 1000w setup.  I put 3 1080ti per 1000w setup at 60% TDP.

You either pay out the arse for them, or go with Server grade psu's, or just end up buying 2000+Watt psu's for literally 1/3 of the 1600w ATX PSU pricetag. Smiley

or you simply build this rig

riser free 2 1080 ti's
and 1 1070 itx

pulls 550 watts  I use 850 watt platinum rosewill quark psu.

or 750 p2  platinum evga

with proper settings this

does 1700-1800 zec.

I enjoy the small compact nvidia rigs.  they are nimble quick easy to run. setup move a round.

ICO? Not even once.
Hi guys
Would it be okay to run 3 1080 ti and 4 1070 with only 1600w PSU (supernova P2)?
it looks like it come out to about 1506w TDP combined including other components

Depends on the models but most aftermarket 1080 Ti's are using 300 watts and 1070s pulling 180. That puts you at 1620 wats max plus 70-100 watts for the rest of the components so ~1700.

I'd not advise going above 80-90% on any PSU, not even on top quality monsters like EVGA 1600W P2.

So I would set the power limit on all cards to ~about 80-85%.

there are 9 slots so wouldnt have problem connecting them. I am planning to run them at around 75% TDP. Trying with a few cards already and @75% I am getting 190w for ti and 140w for 1070 on ewbf miner right now. Would 1600w be enough to handle them?

you can do it, because 3 x 1080ti are 250 x 3 = 750watt maximu, and 4 x 1070 are another 720 maximum, but if you undervolt or use tdp limit you can save many watt and don't stress the psu, the problem is that you need more cables for 7 gpu, and the 1600 don't come with 7 slot i think or maybe yes? i don't remember now

Well... it really comes down to how hard you'll be pushing these cards. If you plan to run them at 100% TDP, do yourself a favor and get TWO PSU's, running that PSU near 100% Full load will make its efficiency go down a lot(Lose more money than save). However if you undervolt these cards to about 45%(What I'd do) you'd be pretty good wattage wise(1080 ti's going for 124watt per card, 1070's probably 100watts) should be alright. Just remember going full TDP is never a good idea if you plan to play it safe and long term.(Unless you want to change out parts a lot then by all means go nuts)

you should be ok with a 1600 watts psu , if u dont want to overclock your cards very hard.
With a proper overclocking / undervolting or without any overclocking,  you will be absolutely ok with the 1600watts psu

It all depends on how are you push

figure you have 1500w for the cards and risers

@100% TDP

750 for TIs
600 for 1070s

You should be good.
