Recently i got a message that one of my post was  deleted by moderator for which i am feeling sad. Since those people whom post are deleted frequently are considered bad posters i want to know does this count only apply to post deleted by mods only ?

If we delete the post ourself or it is deleted by Self-moderated OP or the whole thread is trashed by the mods, then in these cases how do we look at them when considering good or bad posting ?

If the moderators think spamming or trolling has taken place or if they think the posts are either off-topic they will remove the posts when they become aware of them.

Did you ask them why that post was deleted?

Whom do i ask ?
I only get this message and it does not show which Mod deleted it.

A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.

If your post was deleted by a moderator, the reason why is already been included at your inbox as a notification that you post has been deleted, but that doesn't mean that you are a bad poster (or you are)

If we delete the post ourself or it is deleted by Self-moderated OP or the whole thread is trashed by the mods, then in these cases how do we look at them when considering good or bad posting ?

I've checked your post history and in my opinion, yes, you need to do something about your posting to improve its quality, you could do that by reading lot of stuffs here in the forum, if you have some time, do that and you'll see your post improving.

You could also try checking profile of those high quality poster (mostly those have a lot of merits), try visiting @ThePharmacist and @deisik profile, and you'll find out what I'm trying to say here. You could browse the entire forum and you'll find a lot of user who could inspire you to do better.

And sometimes you'll get a post deleted if you quote another post that gets deleted.

This is something that many are unaware of, and can often result in the deletion of posts. The fact is that many users use the quote option completely unnecessarily, or perhaps it is better to say it excessively. I've written about it before, so the conclusion was that some users might think that increasing the number of characters in a post (overall), makes the post better or higher quality, which of course has nothing to do with it.

In conclusion, one or more deleted posts do not mean that someone is a bad member, and I think there is no user in this forum without a few deleted posts, except Satoshi.

Since those people whom post are deleted frequently are considered bad posters
That's not strictly true.  I've had quite a few posts deleted over the years, and while some of them might have been bad (probably troll-type posts), some of them I just didn't understand the reason for.  And sometimes you'll get a post deleted if you quote another post that gets deleted.

In any case OP, don't let it bother you.  I haven't checked your post history and don't know if you're a shitposter but if post deletion starts to become a pattern with you, you might want to think about stepping up your constructiveness.  Looks like members here are giving you some feedback which you ought to take to heart.

If your post get deleted my mod(s) then it should be taken somewhat seriously and you should try to figure out why.

Ignore if you get your post deleted from self moderated threads.

Avoid posting in garbage threads so you don't have to deal with whole thread thrashing by mods.

Coming back to the topic, i conclude that only the posts deleted by the mods are considered bad and rest of the deletion is ok. Is it ?

Why are you so much cautious about the deleted posts. You have not done any crime if few of your posts get deleted. Just relax and do not take too much tension about this. If you post constructive, few deletions doesn't matter.

I already told you that you were spamming, but instead of listening to the advice of an older member, you had to call me a sig spammer, and then closed the thread in a hurry, to make sure I couldn't reply. In French we call this kind of behaviour "petit". And now your posts got deleted. Allow me to find this quite ironic.

And btw, I considered reporting some of your posts, but I didn't. So I guess I'm not the only one who thinks you're spamming.

Cheers from your favourite sig spammer.

I repeat i did not spam in that thread, it was you who spam at that time and also again you are doing the same here.
Also i closed that thread when i got the answer to my query and i will close this thread also when i get my understanding clear and will not keep it open for signature spammers like you.

I think you are confusing spam with messages of which you dislike the content. There is a difference between the two, you know.

Feel free to report my posts and we'll see if you're right or confused. Cool

Why should i report you ?? I have nothing personal against you.  I just want that you can be helpful to me as all others writers are here.

hmph..
The best things when your post was deleted by moderator, by OP (self-moderation), is how to think about Why your post deleted. I never judge someone when my post deleted by moderator or by OP. But, what I can do is, stop to post, thinking about what's wrong with my post and make a better post after that.

it was you who spam at that time and also again you are doing the same here.

If you think this user was spamming, you can use report to moderator button. If your report is good, then his/her post will be deleted by mods. It's simple. Same as you, if someone reported your post and moderator deleted your post, because few points mentioned by tbct_mt2 above, it's mean you can take a rest from posting and learn to make your post more better. So, even someone reported your post, his/her reports will tagged as bad report by moderator.

You should read forum rules (unofficial ones) to know possible reasons why your posts deleted (by moderators or OPs, I don't mention posts deleted by yourself here). I quoted some of the most common reasons.

1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads. [1][e]

2. No off-topic posts.

3. No trolling.

6. No linking to phishing or malware, without a warning and a valid reason. [e]

12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated).

13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours.[2]

21. Old bumps should be deleted. [2]

26. Local thread rules, if stated properly when the thread was started, specific enough and don't conflict with the forum rules, have to be followed.[e]
You can make a informative post but if it is off-topic or goes beyond local rules of OP, your post will be deleted by moderators or OP.

No. Deleted posts don't completely reflect average post quality of a user so it does not make sense if someone look at deleted posts as a indicator for good or bad poster.

In fact, there are some components to consider:
- Percentage of deleted posts (by moderators) per total posts. I believe that people will have skills and readily to spend time (if they have skills) to dig deeply like this.
- Posts deleted by OPs have very little effects on the judgement because OPs sometimes delete posts that they don't like. Bad OPs don't care about post quality, they simply delete posts that are opposite of their main thoughts. I don't say all OPs of self-moderated topics do this but it is truly a bias factor.
In contrast, to have an overview on post quality of one user, it is very easy to skim and scan post history in one to five pages. There is no need to look at deleted posts.

... i want to know does this count only apply to post deleted by mods only ?
assuming you're talking about count on bpip.org then yes it counts only those were deleted by mods
bpip scraped data from bitcointalk modlog, and only post deleted by mods are recorded there

deleted post doesn't always mean bad posting
if someone deletes his own post, he may have changed his opinion and removes his comment
if a self-mod OP deletes your post, it could be simply he disagrees with you or doesn't like your post
and if you have a post in a thrashed thread, it won't add a count to your deleted post

The count usually applies to only posts deleted by mods

If we delete the post ourself or it is deleted by Self-moderated OP or the whole thread is trashed by the mods, then in these cases how do we look at them when considering good or bad posting ?
Self- moderated thread posts are deleted depending on the starter of the thread .whether you are a bad or good poster, it could still be deleted. There is no other way of getting to see deleted posts (by user or in self-moderated threads) except through loyceV's tool if you somehow know the link and the post has been archived there.

does this count only apply to post deleted by mods only ?
Do you mean the count on BPIP? If so: yes. It counts deleted posts mentioned in modlog, which only shows the results of Moderator actions.

We don't Tongue
In general, we judge users by the posts that aren't deleted. If you learn from your mistakes, and check the forum rules to see which ones you've broken, a few deleted posts shouldn't be much of a problem.
