Can you please lock this thread? Because I don't think it's necessary. Let them celebrate individually. Let them share their happy expression with the community. Nothing wrong there. Everyone wants to highlight his celebrations on the forum. Don't combine them in a place and I don't believe Everyone will create a rank-up celebrations post that belongs to your topic which is self-moderated.

Rather than, you may collect the ranking up celebrations thread link here if you have enough time on your hand. So everyone would take look here. Don't take my post personally or negatively. I believe it's not necessary and I express my opinion.
As of now, I can't lock the thread yet but I will soon if it's not working. I am still giving more time for this thread and I don't mind if they post it here or not. It's up to them if they post it here or create a new thread. Opinions are what I needed and don't worry I don't see your opinion personally or negatively. Well, they are welcome to post here and don't have to worry about their post getting deleted.
Yea, since you are the author of the post you have the right what you want to do with your thread. But the post would encourage spam. I still don't believe someone will celebrate their achievements under your thread.

So I will suggest helping the forum prevent spam by locking the thread. Or you might delete spam replies as well. I won't mind even you delete my reply as well.

Therefore, I think OP ought to just lock this thread and forget about it.  I'm not sure what his motivation was in creating it (probably to earn merits), but it's a bad idea overall.
Seems to me as well. But didn't say because I don't want to insult someone. That's why asked to lock the thread, but OP didn't understand.

I don't think about posting Ranking up celebration since I do consider it as "Self-Moderated Topic".
Ranking up is really a good thing, instead of posting celebration post I'd try to find some good or create helpful and informative to help newbies (like me) or anyone. Sometimes achievements are better when not shared.

Since I'm already here, congratulations to me for earning enough merits for becoming a member.  Roll Eyes

In my opinion, this is a good idea to avoid clutter in this forum. There are thousands of threads already and some have redundant topics.
For one thing, there's already a thread in Meta for congratulating members who've recently ranked up.

Second, people who want to toot their own horn after getting to their next rank are probably not going to seek out this thread to do it in, especially since OP made it self-moderated for some bizarre reason.

And third, I'm of the opinion that members don't need to be congratulating themselves on ranking up, as those threads seem to be (to my jaded eyes) attempts to get even more merits.

Therefore, I think OP ought to just lock this thread and forget about it.  I'm not sure what his motivation was in creating it (probably to earn merits), but it's a bad idea overall.

Edit:

I think this will not work since a similar thread already exists on the forum. [[LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations!]
Yeah, of course I didn't read your post before writing mine--bad habit, but I'm glad someone was thinking the same thing I was.

In addition, I know at least two dozen users who are skeptical about such self-celebrating threads
You can add one more to your list. Cheesy

p.s. I can only think of two users whose threads of this kind were really very creative and, more importantly, relevant.  Wink
Somehow I got the impression that those first few "ranking up" topics were actually made to inspire newbies, while majority of others have ulterior motive, which in the end is pretty obvious. Dunno, maybe I am just old and cynical...

[[LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations!], a thread in which everyone can share their impressions and congratulate users who have reached a new rank. In addition, I know at least two dozen users who are skeptical about such self-celebrating threads, so frankly speaking, creating a thread about your rating will most likely negatively affect the reputation of this or that user.

First of all, I will like to comment here that I can never post under anybody's thread about my achievement, if I rank up, I will prefer to create new thread about it to encourage others that are coming behind. I noticed when I started on these forum, many newbies frequently complaining about established members not meriting appropriately that they are only favoring established members like them, that newbies are not getting merit, that led to me thinking of also creating ranking up thread which was actually very positive for me and motivated me more on this forum.

It wouldn't be that good if posting such on just one thread.

You want people to post their ranking up achievement on your thread, and you're moderating it?
They don't have to be scared of the thread being self-moderated.
Also, creating a self-moderated thread about this makes it more discouraging, but even if this thread is not self-moderated, veteran members will have otherwise opinion in contrast to yours. It is best to see more newbies rank up and create new thread about their ranking up. It has been like this all these while and nobody ever complained about it.

Every rank up thread is appreciated with merits. I have a long way to go before I rank up to full member and I might decide to create a appreciation message like others.
Let's say hypothetically, a new full member decides to write his "congratulation to me" or "I just rank up to senior member" post on your thread instead of doing it the way others have in the past. There is a possibility that the merits they would expect may not follow. This is the only reason I think some would not use this thread even though it will help reduce the congratulation threads
I would rather say that making such rank up threads with the sole intention of earning merits is not a good way if you assume it to be.This is the case these types of threads were deemed to be of low quality because members took undue advantage of it and suddenly there were piles of similar threads all in race to gain some extra merits with such threads and see you also see it as merit hunting opportunity and wanted to create one on reaching full member.I know it's joy and pleasure to share with others on achieving high rank but you see there are lot of high rank members came this way but avoiding such things is best you can do.Make forum a better place for learning and exchanging knowledge and share good content with others and you will see more merits coming your way.

I don’t mind someone celebrating their new rank, but I find that such topics belong in the Reputation or Off-topic board. Someone celebrating a Member or Senior Member rank is certainly no longer a beginner, and this board is for beginners and the questions they have about cryptocurrencies and forums in general.

They don't have to be scared of the thread being self-moderated.

I think that self-moderated threads should be used more, because most spammers generally avoid posting in such threads, so don't let anyone discourage you from doing it again.

A few days from now if this doesn't work or don't want to post here then consider this thread locked and buried.

You want people to post their ranking up achievement on your thread, and you're moderating it? Well, for even reintegrating that your thread is self moderated (apart from that we can already see it on top this thread) may even scare people away from posting here. It simply means that only you choose what to allow and what not to.
They don't have to be scared of the thread being self-moderated. Even my previous thread that is self-moderated didn't delete any at all. Just made it self-moderated if it is really really necessary to delete the post but other than that didn't delete the post. Yes, you can see it but there's no need to tell me that as I already know but thank you for saying that.

In my opinion, this is a good idea to avoid clutter in this forum. There are thousands of threads already and some have redundant topics. Well, it is not a bad thing to celebrate, express and post your success to motivate others but it will be nice if it is just in one page and we can just read them all. All senior members here, you are all our mentor and role model and we are glad to read all your experiences and share your knowledge so that we will know we are on the right track.

It's a nice ideas, but posting an achievement to another position as forum demands as a ranking stages of community to one particular thread is not encouraging from my perspective, because the thread will not attracts attention of viewers, i think the best option is to post individually either in beginner's and help section or meta section, that will attracts more trafficking of response and more encouragement support to the user... I know very well that you have stated it more clearer that this your thread is self moderates and you may directly likely delete my opinion.
If you say it like that but I won't delete it. When a forum user rank up then all I can see is congratulations and you deserve it. If you ask me what I can say about it is that it should be in one thread though we have different opinions. It is still the same, for example you ranked up and you posted in this thread then if someone wants to merit then why not merit your post since receiving merit is not always on creating threads. I repeat, the goal is to make every celebration of any forum user's ranking up in one thread. I won't force anyone to post their ranked up post but they are welcome to do it here. In that way, post that are not high quality but only congratulations can be deleted and what's left will be the good posts.

Hello everyone, I noticed many forum users before posted their own thread about how they ranked up and want to motivate other forum users too. I would like everyone to post it here instead of creating different threads with the same goal which is celebrating and want to motivate others. Most of the threads posted is in Beginners And Help board, that is why I created it here. If this is not the right board to post it then I'll be gladly to moved it on another board or lock this thread.

This thread is self-moderated.

Post your ranking up story in here now!
