Corruption has been embedded in us to the extent that our attitude give birth to it everyday. Even the unborn ones are corrupt. Corruption start directly from our home. Corruption can only stop if we can take measures to curb it directly or indirectly from our homes, to community and then to the entire country.

Power of corruption looking at it from the perspective of doom, corruption is the absence of good norms and morals in a person which leads  an individual to behave in a certain manner that can be so hawk ward or disastrous to man, it could be greed, selfishness, I don't care kind of life style and so on. It causes negative effect on individuals and people.

Naturally, the greatest need of man is power. To dominate, to conquer, to even procreate these days, one needs to have attained a level that the spouse may consider them powerful enough, both with the calibre of friends and associates and the money in the bank.
It's just that, the ways men have deviced to get this power or control over lands and lowly humans is the corruption that is inherent.
They may resort to evil deeds to get to the heights and trampled on alot of toes. It's not just a Nigerian problem, it is the problem of every human, follow up on news around the world and see for yourself how corrupt many country officials and leaders are, despite the fact that they look good outside.

Yes you are right power only gives someone the opportunity to show his or her true color, person way they under person they always hide en true character in other to get favour from the person en they serve but when en get financial freedom and power he or she will bring out his or her true character because his not under anyone or begging for favour any more.

You are right, nobody will say he or she is not corrupt for this life, you mentioned power, money and access to sex , this things are the best thing that corrupt people, let even mention money only, money can make a person to corrupt, if you have money you will surely get power and also have things you need, the only thing you can’t afford with money is life, so if someone have money that person is already corrupt because the person will be feeling his or her self and pride will make the corrupt.

Corruption na our blood, most especially Nigeria, although the world is corrupt but the most corrupt country is Nigeria,if Nigeria get small like this, boom, everywhere go burst and go Dey carry shoulder about and be thinking him don pass your level say una no be mate again, and the worst pass of it na e be say to carry girls about don start , so everybody don corrupt , na opportunity to show it no Dey.

When you talk about the context of Nigeria it will be very difficult because Nigeria have been built on the system of bad governance.since the time of Nigeria been govern by region.where by north have a centralized system of governance and the east having a decentralize.Nigeria corruption can be traced to colonial master giving power and control to rule over each to the region which is loyal to them.

Political power can be exercised through various means, including coercion, persuasion, negotiation, or manipulation. That’s true and absolute power also corrupt absolutely.because when there is no check and balance of power.people holding this power can undo and do. That’s why someone who has powr can make you do things out of your own decisions and will but to his own benefit without other’s benefit in the society.

Humans are already corrupted in minds and only needed the tool (power) to exhibit the corruptions in their minds not really that Power itself if corruptions hence there are people who utilizes the same power for good without doing evil with it.
In life, there's always something we've to obtain to showcase our true being just as the Op has mentioned the above 3 tempting tools. There are people who may feel humble even while acquiring them and there also also people who'd feel like a god for acquiring such powers.

I call Nigerians opportunist because of the environment which we find ourselves, being a Nigerian is quiet a whole lot of job where you have to be as smart as hell to survive. This smartness that is required has been shifted from ordinary smartness to greed, and from greed to corruption where we want every thing for ourselves not think of whether it hurts the next person.

Since we have suffered this situation for a long term it's has been seen as normal to be corrupt and if your not a corrupt mind you're against the people. I don't blame Nigerians for any of this stuff happening around us but each and every one is accountable for the rate of corruption. If we help ourselves to an extent then the government will try to copy the principles of the masses not to be corrupt too and hence Nigeria could be a better place. We can not start solving our problem from the top, we have to start from grass to grace so the masses have more work to do than the leaders.

Corruption is not good but where it's needed for survival then there is no option for us than to follow. But they say change begins with one so if I can change myself then my environment will learn from me and hence everyone will learn too.

Sometimes I wonder what are the odds and possibility that Nigeria itself can be a free from corruption and so many other problems that faces the nation as a country. The number one  problem that is in this country is mainly corruption and when we say corruption, this one is has eaten deep into the heart of every man and woman in the  country and that's because we Nigerians used and see every opportunity as a chance to get the other person.

Power is not corrupt when you know the meaning of power and mportant of power, but those who don't take their precious time to know more about the power be given to them to rule in a few times, will be using it to do evil and corrupt upcoming leaders.

If you are well trained about power before giving you all those 3 things to handle in the community, you will not see power in that way than to see power in a good way and use the power to bring development to your community, and spend the money to make sure everybody in the community feel the money in the land, and make sure your wives and your entire family will testify about your reign in the power.

To me, power is not corrupt because the small power I control when I was in school made the school to write my name with a golden pen to live to remember my performance when I was there because I made other followers to know that power is not corrupt.

This your thread is not well organized, to me it's kind of random and zig zag  because it's not well composed. You may be saying something meaningful though but I will advice you go through your thread anything you are done before posting. Corruption simply means dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power but you will agree with me that everyone human being has an atom of dishonest or fraudulent to extent, and some times they don't necessarily need power to reveal or show it out. Despite the fact that everyone has an atom of dishonest or fraudulent there are people that no matter the amount of power given to them, they won't abuse it to the extent people will start complaining and there are also people that any little power given to them, will change them automatically making them to misbehave.

One of the problems we are facing as a nation is that we are too smart, and we are not just one nation but a multi-nation state, which has made the division in the country stand firm for a long time. 
In my recent discovery, external forces like the world power (America) have seen the influence of our people in their country and thereby believe that if we start producing everything here with our consumption forces, we will not need to buy or depend on them anymore to do anything. They try to cause confusion in our leadership by using some fake promises to put in people who will work under their power in order for us to keep depending on them for survival. 
 
If only our leaders were put into power naturally, without all these external forces having influence to sponsor and even threatening the incumbent president to step down for their own person, then our country would have started functioning more, and within a few years we could become another world power from here. The Americans are afraid that what happened to Norway as a country would happen to Nigeria, and with the population of Nigeria and the power force of Nigeria, the country will be so big and can even sponsor the other African countries to be so independent that Africa will no longer be a third world, but rather the most powerful and influential continent in the world. 
 
The Americans know our story—how we began and how we got so much power and distributed it across Africa during the time of Ex President Babagida and Sani Abacha, who helped South Africa during the time of war and helped Cameroon too. The last thing you could relate to is helping Ghana as a country to inhabit its people, and after some time of peace, they had to leave back to Ghana, which was the incident that brought about Ghana's departure (Ghana must go). Now you can relate to how powerful she (Nigeria) is in the world and in Africa; hence, our peace and progress are the keys that hold Africa, so before Nigeria will have to be free, we must eliminate the rooted corruption from external forces like our colonial masters. 

Power and authority is money, which is quite understandable. Our beloved country is gradually fading away based on the hardship and corrupt practice displayed by these influential men who called themselves elders and leaders of the federal republic of Nigeria. As it stands, none of us is too big or too small to handle power. The nation is corrupt and it will definitely take time before it gets better. We just have to fight harder to achieve our aim in the market because we're finding it really difficult to stretch our the necessary actions required of us.

Wetin you talk, sense dey am, but me I go respectfully disagree with you. Wetin you talk fit be true for some people but make you no generalize am for everybody because of you wan talk am like that that means everybody dey corrupted with or without power because e no get anybody wey go come here, as far as say na human being, wey go talk say e no get e own bad side. People get their own bad sides but e no mean say them dey corrupted. Some people wey dey corrupted today, e no mean say na so them been dey, e get people wey dey compelled to corruption. Wetin I mean be say, before people wey dey corrupted go fit give you wetin you want, them go surely want make you dey like them, especially for this our country politics. Plenty people enter politics with good intentions, but due to how dirty the game dey, if you no play by the rules, you gats back down else it's either you fail or them kill you after you succeed... So in order to get wetin them want, they gats dance to the tune even when e be say no be really wetin them carry for mind. So no true true, power dey really corrupt people if them no take time.

Power really corrupts but and it take the grace of God for someone to avoid power intoxication, to control power not too easy, just imagine you possessing the power of controlling a huge some of public fund, know one has the right to ask you how the funds are been spent unless in some cases of obvious misappropriation or reckless embezzlement of funds, power has made many Nigerian leaders to think that they can do anything they want and go free, African leaders possess so much that no one can question them unless there relationship with the parliament has been tainted.
Power does not only reveal corruption it corrupts too, without exposing someone to power he may not meet some corrupt people that will advise him on how to be corrupt, some person has good intentions when they are been given the mantle of leadership but some elements of corruption they will come across in their field might make them to go astray.

Well corruption and power from my view of things only amplifies a man character so all those Ill behavior were already harboured in the characters of that person but it was subsided just because of the lack of maybe the necessary substance to bring them all out. Have you not seen some persons that are still humble despite all the massive funds and money in their possession. Money, power and woman are hard to ignore no doubt but it still boils down to the person desires and wants and even discipline.

Regardless of how the political system works and how everyone is fighting for corruption,.
There are still people who are planning on doing worse when they get the position.
Their inner mindset is being hidden.
Before some people's crave for these positions, they already have their plans well fixed, awaiting the switch.
Another is how some people who don't really have stranded self-esteem have been controlled by their type of leadership in the name of God-father, making them all look corrupt, and when they try to change this, they appear to be the bad egg and tittle a betrayer. And some might be afraid of this and just keep up with their master's game.
Corruption continues.
But to fight this, we need to support the ones making the right decision, regardless of how we fight. Also, we need a well-determined person with strong self-esteem who stands their ground at all points in making a beneficial decision for the people. 

They're different meaning attached to the word power corrupt, this is just natural and even you wey dey talk if power enter your hand today your behavior go change and you go begin do wetin you no believe say you fit do, this is not about mindset or not but there's something special attach to power and it has made a lot of people to regret cause this power and attitude works together.
Power corrupt no doubt let's use our politicians for example, when it's time for campaign they'll make different kinds of speech to buy the heart of masses but after all this and power is been vested on them you'll see a change of attitude and this attitude can affect the nature at large so power truly corrupt.

Corruption is an act of given something of value to someone in power or anything to get an undue favor by the person ,he who give money to a clerk mother to process It file on time money is One of the highest cause of corruption in our country.but corruption is already in our Nigeria system without corruption some of us can't survive take examples some of the minister in the ministry environment the former one's were squandering empower and food vendor money corruption.some youths for that Greediness, selfishness and our impatient are the cause of our corruption in our own beloved country Nigeria

Corruption has been rooted in us for so long that it can't be reshaped now. Greed is the core root of corruption which equally means that we all have our inbuilt corruption that is quiet exposed as soon as we come in contact with the catalyst. and what are the catalyst of corruptions? there are so many e.g power, money etc so we can't concluded one catalyst as the cause of corruption in any country.

The country we are has taught us to be corrupt. Immediately a child is being born into this nature, he/she don become a corrupt being. I'm not saying other countries are not corrupt but ours is much because part of what we teach in our day to day activities is corruption. Greediness, selfishness and our impatient are the cuase of our corruption. I pray this reduce in this our country soon

Corrupt person is like a steam engine waiting for gear to accelerate. Power to a currupt person is just the gear, that is why many in the position of power uses it the way they like,I can therefore say that curruption, now is in stages since is like gear some use gear one, some gear 2 while some three base one their ability. Already Bible said the heart of man is full of evil and curruption to every Nation is bad,therefore can't be removed from the evil Bible said heart of man is made of.all I can say is that it take personal decision to escape the power of curruption when ever the opportunity comes.

Because the same power wey Dem give Hon Dickson wey make am owe people salary for over 3 months, naim Dem still give Hon diri and e never own one single months. Na just who you be naim you go display if power enter your hand. Some persons go use am wisely while other go try to use am manipulate the system to their own favour. According to di former president of Nigeria OBJ said, power sweet. And why power is sweet because he was using the power to do what was not good to himself and government use power to cover themselves and steal public funds. And if you remember weti Thomas Hobbes said, him say, "human beings e dey perpetual in power and dat only ceaseth wen di person die". And dat means power is corrupt. And what is power is corrupt? It is when a leader use  di power to do something that is not good for the public. And indirectly, di excess used of power in the country. In Africa the real political power that's giving to the leaders is not used but the corrupt power is the one they are using.

Me i no believe this one way some persons dey talk say power and other things dey cuz corruption at all. In times of talking about corruption you guys should think back in the early days when our four father was killing their selfs all because of power just to be so so and so in one community. See make I tell you, power and influence no dy make person corrupt, but e dy bring the true colors of someone. Make we take during naira scarcity as example now, during that time, their are some set of people wey dy always complain of the government, but during naira scarcity, the pos people come even wicked pass government, because small power enter their hand, during that time na only like 5% of pos people dy take a fair price as charge.

You are not wrong but this thought of yours can't be termed to everyone because human nature varies and differ to some extent and I believe not everyone will fall to this corrupted mindset of given the things you listed but to a large extent I do understand that the human nature is filled with greed but even at that the nature of upbringing and morals matters because that can change his mentality of corruption mind

Rightly said, every of our actions comes from our mind, what we think and decide to act. Money is good same with power this should even make a person more humble knowing fully well that any much acting around poor people will only yield envy and bring in negativity.

A humble person will always remain humble, sometimes it becomes a game play of the mind acting humble and of integrity just to get to a particular position and hold power.

Op this your matter how I want take explain naim it longooo, I dey hear when people they criticize people on power some time I will laugh because person wey dey watch match naim they see players error past even the player. Your points seems to be correct but also, it cannot not be truly correct because we humans are different and have  different notions towards different things. Not everyone is corrupt and been given power does not mean it will show your true colors of being a corrupt person. Power is not a source of generating wealth, and those that generate wealth through power they have can be called corrupt leaders. Some people don’t look like corrupt individuals but when given power they show their true self, this is true for some people and also false for some people. Money, power and sex cannot ascertain the type of person one is, your true nature will prevail one day with or without that.

To an extent, I may seem to agree with your ascertions, but to a very large extent, I may like to disagree too. Saying this means that I believe there's no generality in what you said. Sometimes, people become tempted to power and as such they go into things they never thought they could through the influence of others. On this case, I fit talk say, the person mind been don almost they corrupt but na the opportunity to join the corruption na hin him been they lack, so as he saw the opportunity in the individuals surrounding him, or his colleagues, he grabbed it well by joining them.

Another reason why I been talk say I go disagree with you be say, there's what we call; SYSTEMIC CORRUPTION or in another words, ENDEMIC CORRUPTION, and that's the kind of corruption that happens within the weak system of an organization. Most of these corruptions take place in the public sector rather than the private sector.

In the kind of corruption, it is like a cabal or cartel system where it runs through ranks of the organization in an organized manner mostly orchestrated by the top officials or the government in itself to loot out funds from the organization. You don't need to have intentions to be corrupt before you're drawn into it, especially when you get promoted to such ranks. This time around it's not an individual thing and it in such cases that you're given the thin option to join the system or resign with immediate effect in the event that you refuse or frustrate the syndicate.

Power is accompanied with corruptible corruptions which has the influential potentials to dominate ones personal being or interests but it requires pernal wisdoms to uphold the toxication to take charge over ones obtained power.

I do not believe everyone who is given money and power will be corrupt.
When someone is not honest in their doing, no strong moral principles governing them in life, they can be easily influenced by those 3 factors you mentioned.
The truth is the ones that are corrupt are those ones that do not have any atom of integrity in them. Integrity is inbuilt, if you do not have, you don't have it. Power, money can't take that away from you.

Everyone has his own tendencies depending on his upbringing and beliefs system. Their are people that are born rich and  whose parent instilled in them good morals that never had any issue coping with wealth and so regardless of the money, power or sexual privileges that comes their way, they don't easily get moved by it.

Power and vices like the ones you pointed out mostly affect those that have not had it before and that have been craving for such privileges secretly without anyone knowing it, ones they get opportunity to access those privileges, people might feel that they have changed become of money or power not knowing that it is the inability to funding their desire that made them look calm.

I know power and money comes with it own spirit and that if you are not careful, regardless of your belief system or standard of upbringing, it would throw you off your feet but their are people that will stand their ground regardless of the privileges you present to them because of what they believe in.

Don't underestimate the power of belief system, e get people when even if you give them heaven and earth or bring strippers full ground for their front, as long as them believe say those things an vanity, e no go move them aswr

That why they say power, money and fame makes a monster, Thou still depends on the mindset of others. you know many people be complaining about corrupted government the funny thing is that if those have that opportunity they will do worst then you know that compare to them the government are humans lol. Alot have people have changed totally letting what they possess control them when knowing at the everything just vanity. Just try to be humble help the way you can don't let what you possess control you control them instead.

People dey always dey talk say power corrupt, power corrupt, yes most of us don talk am before, we dey think say na power dey corrupt person but the truth be say most of us already get corruption inside of us we only need the opportunity (power) to bring out the corruption in us. So no be power dey corrupt, power only reveals corruption.
