You don't need other PSU, all you need is configure the cards to work at 150 watts, thats all. There is a guide here in this forum.

this.  person is correct

as only a fool would allow the vegas to pull  more then 200 watts a card.

so if the 4  cards are 200 watts each it  means your psu can work just fine.

although I would try to keep each card under 175 watts

My cards are currently pulling about 210W each never done bios modding before so im waiting till I build my new pc and I can try with one card while the rest continue mining.

The PSU claims to be able to deliver 1000W constant so should be fine to power 3x Vegas, I've got another PSU for the last,

My question is is it safe to use one PCIe cable to power Vega cards ( using both 6+2 the cable has for one card ) cables are double the thickness as the ones that came with the smaller PSU.

Get another PSU even though that you have a Corsair HX1000 that is RX vegas that you are having and as you have known it is really power hungry ether that you will not get enough power for your cards or the PSU cannot handle all of the 3 vegas.

Very true and simple recommendation

I've got a Corsair HX1000 PSU and want to power 3 Vegas with it. I've got 4 PCIe x8 cables each with 2x 6+2 connectors. I've read that it's a bad idea to use one PCIe cable to power both slots on a Vega card but the cables are double the thickness of the PCIe cables that came with the 650w PSU that only have one 6+2 connector.

Should I be able to safely use one cable to power each Vega or should I be looking for another PSU?

Yes, you should be ok.
Of course, if you will properly setup your Vegas, so it should consume about 150-180W from the wall on monero or about 200W  for dual eth mining.
So total your vegas will consume 600W max. Your PSU and cables can handle it.

Yes, I agreed. One RX Vega TDP is about 300W, your PSU just fit including mobo and others. It is better for you to get another PSU...
