I don't think you'll find an official statement. It looks like the developers had no confidence in their product anymore and just stopped without any announcement...

I made an account yesterday on YoBit to buy some ATB (found it at random, got interested because I wanted to learn about the walletmining). I saw Powercoin in a faucet/donationbox. Looking at coinmarketcap it seems pretty dead though, hit the exchanges in july16 spiked and died. The website domain is for sale and the social media accounts haven't been active since july 2017. Anyone know the official status on this?
