really trying to pump up this old coin huh?

Not sure why people call it an old or dying coin. It's sitting at the highest it's even been and #3 of all coins  Smiley

I don´t think it is bad for a coin to be old. In fact PPC has proven that PoS is working. It has a really active community and lots of projects are currently running.

In my oppinion the only reason, that PPC is still relatively low: most people do not understand PoS. This will change. The longer PPC exists and the more people know about PPC the faster it will grow. I assume the curve to be exponential since more people will get interested in PPC the higher the price is. It will skyrocket as soon as it´s above LTC in marcet cap. That day will come (I assume Q1/2014).

You nailed it, it's important we start shifting attention to developing resources to better explain PoS and how Peercoin/Primecoin fit into the crypto currency landscape. Personally, I'd like to see mini tutorials that any new coin enthusiast could understand. If anyone would like to help lead that charge, please let us know.

Peercoin Weekly Newsletter - Issue 2
November 6th

Introduction

Our next 48 hours are centered around a Peercoin awareness campaign. Please excuse the abridged newsletter, we're putting in a lot of hours to help protect your PPC investment. Feel free to join us at peercointalk.org.

Coindesk Article

Danny Bradbury from Coindesk spent about 4 hours with the Peercoin team. Look for that article/interview to appear on Coindesk in the next day or two. As soon as it's posted, we'll update this newsletter. With the 1.2 million dollars worth of Bitcoin stolen and recent surge, we completely understand that this item may be slightly delayed.

** Update **

Trek Con Press Release

It's official, the Trek Con press release is now active:

http://trekconspringfield.com/press.php

Over the next few weeks, expect members of the community to start working with Trek related websites and forums to help promote the event. As we mentioned in the previous newsletter, the first 2000 attendees will receive a free Peercoin as well as tutorials on how to quickly jump into the world of crypto. This is a huge opportunity for everyone in the alt currency space, we're excited about making the most of this wonderful opportunity.

Local Peercoins

While still early in development, I wanted to send you a link to FuzzyBear's LocalPeercoins:

http://localpeercoins.org/

The Peercoin community understands that in order for a crypto to be successful, we need to make it easy for people to buy/sell coins.

Kudos

We want to extend kudos to ChrisJ of the Feathercoin community. Instead of just walking about from the Bitcoin Conference - Amsterdam conference, he stepped up and helped organize an alternate event.

This is a great reminder that communities can be competitive while still supporting initiatives that benefit everyone.
