Lawsuit against Pavel Durov
On June 1, 2018, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow registered the claim of the Cryptocean company, which accused the founder of Telegram Pavel Durov of using their technologies when creating a blockchain-based user identification service. The lawsuit emphasized that the representative of Telegram was at a closed presentation of the product for investors, and a few months later Durov announced the development of a crypto passport copying the functionality, interface and principle of operation of the technology developed at Cryptocean.
