My name is Solomon Adekale founder of the Sollars and Sense: Smart Money project and now also the New Money Alliance initiative.
The simplest way to categorize the New Money alliance is as a branding and marketing partnership among legitimate currencies. Currency projects that have goals to reach a mainstream audience and not stay in the shadow of Bitcoin. I believe the key to this is the right branding and the right marketing direction both of which are in this New Money initiative. So many people think technology is going to beat bitcoin
not with mainstream consumers 
What will beat Bitcoin is simply better marketing and branding. Yes you need the tech but mainstream consumers need the relational stories that explain the tech AS AN EXPERIENCE. NOT THE TECHNICAL SPECS. Consumers need use case projects they can connect with without needing to reference Bitcoin as a crutch. I believe this new money alliance and our first initiative can do that. BITSHARES ANGLE
I'm currently trying to take this project on as a BitShare's Delegate. I reached out to BitShares community because I believe my project meshes well with their platform and many of my personal ideologies. Not all of them but certainly enough for common ground and working together where it counts. They are also one of many projects that I see that can survive without Bitcoin.
Now I'd like to know what you all think about this New Money thing. Let's get a conversation started so we can optimize this and really get something going that can propel our scene to a mainstream audience (all without Bitcoin as a crutch). Let's limit the FUD and increase the LOVE & RESPECT. We don't have to all agree with each other but lets focus on where we do agree and see if we can use that to our advantages.
