Hello forum users,

This is my first post on this site, but I saw it linked on an article about ICO and wanted to get some expert opinions.

I am in the process of wrapping up a Udemy course on Blockchain, where we built a basic cryptocurrency using Python and a smart contract using Solidity. I have a website called www.coinpiranha.com (feel free to sign up [pun not intended]!!), where the idea is its a website where users get ranked based on their crypto prediction's accuracy. I built it to combat clickbait youtubers and shillers - it's a straightforward site where people see how legit a person is based on their rank, and every week the best prediction gets awarded DOGE as a prize!

Anyway, my dream was to get away from paying out DOGE each week to paying out my own cryptocurrency, which I want to name AQUA (https://coinpiranha.com/aqua). I'd love to make AQUA a reality, but I just stepped into the world of ICO and it's a bit overwhelming. I guess these are the questions, that I'd love to hear your opinions on:

1) Is this a good idea (lol)?

2) Would this cost me, personally, a lot of money to do?

3) I think my biggest concern is that I see the top 100 coins, and they all have super smart people building cutting-edge new technology. My coin (so far) is just a basic blockchain, the point of it is to be the currency of the CoinPiranha network. Is it fine that there's nothing new, technically speaking, about my coin? Will that make it impossible to gain investors?

Thank you so much for your time and your replies, I'll try to respond to each one.

You're the best!
