Thatnks for the precautionary advice, especially in this Christmas season, scammers will want to capitalize on people's ignorance to enrich themselves. It is very important to verify the sources of links that is sent to us, that promises tremendous rewards, because at the end of the day you will be the one rewarding these scammers.

I've always been skeptical about new altcoins, because of the unpleasant experiences of forum members that have lost their investments. We should look beyond the hypes of these projects and consider if they'll be durable in the crypto market, because most of them will end up shitcoins. This is why my preference will remain bitcoin, and of course top altcoins that have proven their worth.

I think it's not just the festive period alone, we're at the time when scammers flood the space with many fake projects. As the market is getting bullish, there's going to be more newcomers trooping into the crypto space and scammers use the opportunity to launch many fake projects hoping to scam unsuspecting inventors. Some persons, especially newbies may be tempted at the prospect of investing in a project that promises to yield x100 with few months, only for them to get scammed after investing.

As bitcoin is more than 40k now, there will be a lot of scammers on the loose trying to jump on this situation.
Actually, there's no season for scammers, so long there are gullible users who will take the bait.
But when bitcoin or crypto market is getting much interest because of the rising prices, and so the number of scammers.
This is why everyone should be aware of what they do over the net. You can't expect anyone to think of how you feel when you are duped.

Seasons greetings and merry Christmas in advance. Whenever there is festivee season, many people do not take cautioness, which eventauly maade them to make drastic decisions. Lots of merriment, euphoria and alcohoic influence during this season has cost so many persons a lot. It is good we take precaution and avoid anything that would jeopardize our investment. It is good you have highlighted the importance of maintaining safety in investment especially durung this seasons

In most cases, the urge of one eager to make more money in preparation the the festive season can make one to lose more money. Imagine someone with a plan of buying one or two things before the new year but not with enough fund. Out of uncautiousness, he/she may place some unnecessary trade believing he can make more money through it. This may make such person lose more money.

Don't ride with the FOMO, otherwise you'll end up losing your capital if you don't know what you are doing. Focus on bitcoin, but always invest in caution. Never invest all in just because the market is very bullish, remember we don't hold what will be the next price for bitcoin so always invest on the amount you are comfortable of losing. Altcoins can be profitable as well, but always chose the right coins to invest so you won't end up wasting your capital on the wrong coins.

Christmas is becoming more imminent so we should be more wise enough to deal whatever hypes or fomos in the market. Don't fall fomoing with the wrong coins, but always stick with bitcoin no matter what.

We have the holiday season coming, Christmas, new year and then next will be the halving. All of these are gonna be the days where most of the people got a lot of money and they're gonna look for a wiser decision where they should put their money. It's a good reminder for everybody and even if people that are not yet in crypto can't ready this, much better if most of them starts with Bitcoin for having that safety with their very first investment on this market. And as I've said that when this season makes a lot of people lots of money, this is also the time that everyone must pay attention to the surroundings not just in the physical reality but also in online world where the scammers are just out there waiting for their victims.

New Year is still a few weeks away. We can still prepare ourselves before the arrival of the bull run in the market.
If we want to invest in any project, we have to research to find the right project that has the potential to provide profits when the bull run or altcoin season comes. But we also don't need to force ourselves to invest in altcoins in order to diversify our investments because finding altcoins that are suitable as investments is not easy, especially if it is a new project.
For beginners, they can focus on investing in bitcoin first but if they still want to invest in new projects, they have to know how much money they are using.

Happy new month and merry xmas in advance to you.
This period comes with a whole lot of rush and people will want to go into any quick scheme just to earn instant money and scammer are very much aware of this and will introduce lots of fake project just to entice people and extort money from them.

This is a very important information, it's necessary you don't allow the rush associated with the season blind you from making your own research regarding any investment opportunity that comes your way so as I be on a safer side.

If you have the resource and opportunity to invest, don't bit ensure that you do it with caution.

Don't loose your money for chasing after the Air

Every cryptopreneurs should be very careful with their investments, don't be too forward in making an investment on a newly introduced crypto projects this season, especially the newbies, make adequate and necessary research before making an investment, also try as much as possible not to rush into many promotional offers from unrealistic projects, influencers or low reputable organizations you don't know much about, make research and take your time before investing.
Just like many coin flooding Crypto market on dialy basis with massive pump. One can easily be triggered to try it. Somany of them are airdrop sites mostly in telegram, trying to scam people they will tell you to claim airdrop, after which they will require you to pay some amount of money to claim it. When you see such just know that it's a scam site and never go a close range.

Lastly, be contempted with what you have and make wise investment out of what you have earned, use a non custodial wallet for your digital assets, remember that not your keys not your coins.
Yes surely one of the biggest problem we have is lack of  contentment. We are not always contented and that always leed to greed. Most investors fail because of greed. Take for example, having some $$$ in bitcoin and you think it's not growing as expected because you think the price is too high. And it can not grow to %200 or %500 in a day. So you choose to invest in new shit coin that just entered market with a massive pump of about %2000. And if paradventure the coin fall dip to by %100 all your money is gone. And it may never rise again.

First and foremost, focus on investment and don't trade. Second, choose Bitcoin and assign majority of your investment capital for Bitcoin. Third, store your bitcoin safely and you are right, using non custodial wallets.
Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts
Secure your wallets
Security checklist

Backup your wallet safely.

Also spend time to read scam traps to avoid them.

There's no father Christmas anywhere, may people are loosing their money all with the aim of them making more to it through what they found online, we must not be too attracted to high promising offers that are too much to be real, if you must Invest, go for bitcoin, avoid unnecessary hyped altcoins, the way they rises they also comes down, be careful on other promotional offers, many are scam, they only want to waste your time or deceive you into making payments with them first and left you empty, avoid links and downloads that are unsolicited.

Lastly, be contempted with what you have and make wise investment out of what you have earned, use a non custodial wallet for your digital assets, remember that not your keys not your coins.

We should always be on guard of offers that is too good to be true.  Since the holiday is coming, there will be, for sure, fraudsters and scammers that will take advantage of this holiday, we might be seeing holiday based token being launched, we have seen this kind of strategy before so I believe for the old timer, it is not new but for the beginners, you must avoid this kind of project.  Never invest in these kinds of stuff because most of these kinds of project are short lives and often poof even before they are listed on bigger exchanges.

In my opinion, investing in cryptocurrency other than bitcoin is a waste of time and money because it is difficult to distinguish between legitimate and fraudulent projects. We should be on the lookout for projects that make unrealistic promises, they are not real. Any investment opportunity or project that claims or promises to give you more money or promises assured returns are all scams. This technique is used to lure in desperate investors, mostly newbie investors who are so desperate to make money.

There are other established cryptocurrencies besides Bitcoin.  I believe we should broaden our horizons to have more options in terms of investment.  If we only put our focus on Bitcoin, I believe we are missing the other options that cryptocurrency offers.

Because they know that this is the ideal time to trick people, scammers typically operate during this time and devise sophisticated strategies to lure naive victims.  Our ability to protect ourselves determines the likelihood of falling victim to scams. When investing in a newly founded project, whether we are amateurs or experienced investors, we should exercise due diligence because there are a lot of new Crypto projects being established during these times, especially now that the bull run is almost here. Before investing in any kind of project, careful investigation is necessary because there are many scam projects in the cryptocurrency space that aim to steal people's money.

This is an important part that every cryptopreneur must know and keep in mind: your keys are your money, and when you use a wallet where the keys do not belong to you, the money does not belong to you. That is what utilising a custodial wallet entails, which is why we are urged to use a non-custodial wallet so that only you have access to your wallet and your coins.People make the error of utilising a custodial wallet, or rather, they ignore this advise and store funds on a custodial wallet since they are much easier to set up and spend your money on, ignoring the risk of losing your money to scams and hacks.

This last paragraph impresses me so much like being contented, one thing that make people fall victim of circumstances or get into danger and problem is lack of contentment like you want to reach the level that another person has reach or you want to do things they're doing in other to meet up life obligation. It is important that no matter how little you have you should be okay with it then strive hard to get more in a legit way, don't be influenced by peer pressure as this is also one of the major cause of lack of contentment because you see that your mates are making it through illegal means then you also want to join the trend and do what they do it can lead to loss of life, being apprehended by the government or tarnishing your reputation.

Don't use because others are rushing to invest on a particular coin then you also rush and join them without knowing the sustainability of that coin. Invest and trade with caution and also invest an amount that wouldn't affect your mental health if anything happens to your investment. Above all be vigilant and take the security of your asset, privacy and environment of utmost priority as you are accountable to whatever thing that happens to you. Chill and have fun throughout the Yuletide period.

Although there's no time that people don't invest, as long as they have the money, they always invest, but I think during a holiday period like this, people are more concerned about reaping the harvest of their early investment because they need the money to be able to make their holiday enjoyable. Unless you are an absolute amateur, otherwise people are aware that this period is usually when scammers and Ponzi schemes erupt and disappear before the beginning of the next year.

When I got rubbed off about $500, it was in the year 2020. Just in the month of November (12th day), I made that investment with the hope of getting my 20% ROI on the 13th of the next month (December). I got disappointed, and not only that, the company crashed and my money was gone. A lesson well learned

When I saw this thread what came to my mind was this thread which just a year ago warning of fake Santa, and yet again we are here warning again.

There’s going to be lots of new fake projects on this again but the easiest way I think people will get caught is the issue of phishing attack through the clicking of giveaway links either on social media or either exchanges. We all know how some exchanges will want to reward some members or rather generate more traffic to the platform during this period by organizing some giveaways, although most from the top exchanges could be genuine but we all know that scammers will exploit this means to spread around fake or phishing sites. The best precautionary measure will be to avoid any giveaway links or others and be wary of links they receive this festive period. If there is large funds on software wallets use this period to transfer them to cold storage.

With this high festive season, different form of scams are also prevalent. Always practice caution is the key. Do not entertain random strangers that you meet online or even offline. If you are offered with too good to be true projects or investments, obviously those are scams so always think a thousand times before you bite their offers. If you really want a secured and highly profitable and guaranteed investment, then trust only bitcoin. Bitcoin might be quite expensive than altcoins, but with long term hodling, you will reap totally life changing profits.

This is the season of spending, so to avoid regretting after, know your limits before you try to spend. Christmas cash gifts and bonuses are highly expected, so use it wisely through bitcoin investment or any other proven profitable investments, and not just use for merry making and partying.

Scaming happens not only in the cryptosphere but across many places that harbour December celebrations because of the holiday but I love the reminder. I also think this space experience lots of scamming activities that such type of scams are nothing new again but more importantly, it is good to talk about security details and how to safeguard incase of any form of impersonation like:
  • Fill any form that involved submitting private keys and Seed phrase; avoid.
  • Giving out your emails and passwords.
  • Claiming free airdrops that may poison wallet addresses; in most cases, they wipe out wallet addresses when you interact with those airdrop platforms.
  • Don't accept giveaways, most time you will be risking your privacy because giving your details like wallet address tells them you may have coins in that wallet which can become a point of target.

There is nothing free, even the airdrops today require your time and maybe interaction with the blockchains, run away when you see anything free in the street of crypto.

Lemme put this out there that 99.99% of crypto projects out there are scams. Only bitcoin is the real deal.

Now the holidays are coming and scammers will be looking to close their books on a "good note" from their naive victims. Be warned.

Note these-

  • If it is too good to be true, then it is a scam
  • If they dm or pm you first on your socials and via email, it is a scam.
  • If they tell you that the opportunity is limited or that prices will rise soon, it is a scam
  • if the crypto project is anonymous or lacks verifiable information, , it is a scam
  • if there is no detailed whitepapers and or documentation , it is a scam

These kind of festivals wake up the scammers and also hackers too.
Mostly they trap the newbies and with bad experience these newbies spread negativity. They make mistakes by own and say that the project is scam. Means scammers just create a suspicious link regarding any good project and the newcomers just click and they lost money.

Always make a proper research because your money is important for you and think before investing and search about the project. The hackers also create like gift links and others method they use and when you click that link they grab money and even they can steal your personal information. So be careful and ask from well experienced people they will give a good advice.
And OP thanks for sharing this valuable advice.

Thank you for this caution and advise to old and new members of the forum. Experiencing the end of the year is a great time for many people to witness. Those that have not achieved their targeted goal for the year will want to do anything possible to achieve that within this short period of time, hence they can fall victims of this scams and fraud projects that bring in good offer to entice them with. This is a period where many projects are expected to come in especially as the bull run is being anticipated for.

The merriment that comes with the end of the year celebration can make you even spend more than your budget or what you’ve allocated your money for. We need to also take caution not to take from our already invested money in bitcoin to satisfy our short time urge of the end of the year.

Don't loose your money for chasing after the Air

Let me start by wishing everyone a happy New Month, it shall be a profitable one for us all, this shall be a month of restoration of every of our lost fortunes, I have a subtle advise for everyone and this concern the old and new members, we are in the festive season where the annual Yuletide celebration is being marked and many of us would have also set a target of making money at this period because we are very aware of many opportunities and offers that comes together with the December period.
